After going round, the eighteen holes, return to your lodge for a relaxing dip in your private hot tub and admire the views from the decking. Sleeping up to five guests and accommodating two well-behaved dogs, this location is perfect for families – there’s even an on-site children’s playground for the kids to run around!

But if they’d rather get involved in the golfing too, then take the roughly half an hour drive to Morpeth Golf Centre, where a round of FootGolf or Adventure Golf is sure to keep everyone entertained.

Pay Grace’s Coffee Shop a visit for coffee and cake or tea and scones, before travelling back to the park for the evening, where the nearest pub is just a mile away, so no need for the tired family of golfers to be cooking!

The Riverbank in Shotley Bridge

But for those wanting to get some practice in with fellow lovers of the green, The Riverbank in Shotley Bridge, just outside Northumberland, offers a great alternative. Sleeping up to six guests, this large modern home even contains access to a gym with infrared sauna and hot tub for private use.

Hone your skills together over at Beamish Park golf club (located on the very same valley as the museum and Beamish Hall hotel) just a twenty-minute drive away. Conquer their eighteen-hole course before visiting ClubHouse for a bite to eat, or head back to The Riverbank and lounge the evening away in the summer house before firing up the charcoal BBQ.

The Oaktree Cottage

A spacious property for yourself and/or your partner can be found at The Oaktree Cottage, where the rustic twist on its modern interiors provides the perfect space to sit back and relax before the next round!

As well as an outdoor hot tub to soak away the evenings in, there’s also a super handy bike shed to store any golfing equipment you might want to take away with you. But before you put them away, head over to Rothbury Golf Club, just a fifteen-minute drive from the Cottage, where the emphasis is on a relaxing experience and the club simply wants visitors to be able to enjoy the atmosphere on the green!

Play eighteen or nine holes, it’s up to you, or if you’d rather sit back and watch the action, then head over to the Clubhouse for a drink – or even a Sunday carvery if you visit on the right day!

Swanley Lodge

On non-golf days, pay Northumberland National Park a visit for wonderous walks, or explore nearby villages and try out the different pubs on offer. But when you start to miss the green, pay Slaley Hall a visit. At roughly a twelve-minute drive away, it’s a quick trip for the day out playing the huge 36-golf complex, but certainly rewarding!
