Haviland Cottage is a beautiful period cottage with a hot tub on the Isle of Wight, located on the outskirts of Ventnor, in the historic village of Bonchurch on the South Side of the Isle. With its own rural and coastal walks with picturesque views it is in a perfect location to explore all the Isle of Wight has to offer.

Recently Refurbished

Built as a Coach House and Stables it has been extended over the years and in 2024 was completely refurbished to offer luxury accommodation, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a separate dog snug.  As a former coach house, it has high ceilings, spacious and has a light and airy feel throughout the property.

A Sense of History

The cottage has close connections to Charles Dickens when he spent a summer in the village writing “David Copperfield”. To help bring this history to life we have curated a literary walking tour of the surrounding area highlighting key points of interest (along with stunning views).

Extensive Interior

The extensive ground floor has Italian limestone tiling with underfloor heating. and boasts an extensive kitchen / conservatory for dining. The Ground floor also has a large sitting room, a single bedroom, bathroom, and a dog snug with direct access to the back garden terraces. The upstairs has a further three bedrooms (one En-Suite ) and a family bathroom.

Landscaped Gardens

Set within 3/4 acre of beautiful, landscaped gardens and behind high stone walls it offers secluded privacy, as well as direct access to coastal and Downs Walks.  Within the grounds there are several terraces for entertaining and alfresco dining. The large front garden has a large grass area, a pond. For children there are ropes and swings hanging from a large hazelnut tree – which is also a favourite of the Red Squirrels – which are still found in certain parts of the Island. There is also an extensive Kids section in the living room with an extensive library containing books, DVD’s, and Board Games.

Hot Tub Heaven

The entrance terrace is home to a newly installed Hot tub, this is ideal for full-body relief. The 5-seater J-475 Jacuzzi has different configurations to offer the ultimate in relaxation style. It has an extra-wide illuminated waterfall, plus an at-a-glance indicator light, colour touch screen control, lighting Bluetooth Speakers to connect with your own music. What better way to relax after a busy day exploring the Island and its many attractions than to chill in the hot tub looking at the stars!

The cottage has been independently assessed by Visit England, who have awarded Haviland a Four-Star Gold Award, with additional “Badges” for Pet Friendly, and ideal for Walkers and Cyclists alike.
