Dog Friendly Cottages in the Lake District with a Hot Tub

Written By

Would you like to be outside with amazing views and your furry friend by your side? These dog friendly cottages with hot tubs are the perfect accommodation for you. With the beauty of the Lake District on your doorstep and a hot tub to allow more time outside, these properties are perfect to come back to after a long day exploring, or to cosy up in and take a break from busy everyday life.

Speight cottage

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway for 2, then Speight Cottage is ideal. Situated just out of Sedbergh, it is a brilliant spot for exploring Kendal and Windermere, with Grange-over-Sands just a little further away. However, if you’re not wanting to venture far, there is plenty to do in the immediate region. Sedbergh is an old town with streets draped in history and a dramatic backdrop – the Howgill fells. With walks up onto the fells surrounding the cottage there are many ways for you and your dog to explore the surrounding area. The house itself has parking and bike storage, as well as a patio and hot tub overlooking rolling fields and a river.

With shops and a pub less than a mile away, you don’t feel too removed from civilisation but are isolated enough to have a real break from city life. With a king sized bed, underfloor heating and an open fire, this property oozes comfort and cosiness. With all of the facilities you could possibly want and more, Speight Cottage couldn’t be better for a trip to the Lake District.

The Lodge

The Lodge is the ideal cottage if you’d rather be a little closer to the hustle and bustle of the towns of the Lake District. Sleeping 2 and located just 25 minutes from Windermere and 20 minutes from Grange-over-Sands, you are on the doorstep for some of the UK’s most stunning natural attractions. With amazing walks straight from the door, you can easily explore the local area while walking the dog. This house screams the Lake District with its stone exterior, wood burning stove and uninterrupted view of luscious green.

With an elevated balcony looking out over the fields, this is the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary or to spend a romantic weekend break with a hot tub. Take a slow walk into the village, treat yourself to a meal and some drinks at the inn, before returning to the cottage and relaxing in the hot tub watching the sun set. The location, facilities and cosiness of The Lodge is enough to tempt anyone to the Lake District.

Copper Beech Cottage

If you’re looking for a property that has an amazing location, is dog friendly and child friendly, Copper Beech Cottage could be perfect for you. Sleeping 4 and with walks straight from the door into a 110 acre estate, as well as out into the surrounding hills, this barn conversion is ideal for those with young children. The addition of Sky TV and a hot tub gives plenty to entertain older children as well. The nearest shop and pub are 2 miles away so you can easily pop into Torver for supplies, while still keeping the secluded feel the Lake District lends itself to.

The cottage is just a short drive from Coniston water and Lake Windermere, where there are multiple options for getting onto the water and experiencing the beauty of the Lake District from a different perspective. Of course, this all relies on being able to be torn from the hot tub and patio which have incredible views and the comfort of the woodburning stove perfect for pooches to warm their bellies.

Greta Mill

Greta Mill is a cottage for all the family. Sleeping 8 this spacious but property in the adventure capital of the UK has something for everyone. Go ice climbing, play crazy golf, enjoy coffee at the theatre by the lake or stroll around the market all in Keswick. Climb Catbells or head to Dodd Wood for a fell hike and Osprey spotting, both just a 10 minute drive away.

Venturing only a little further you can visit Aira force waterfall, Ullswater, Hadrian’s wall or spot Scottish hills from the Cumbrian coast.
