"Beautiful lodge, very clean and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Hamper when we arrived filled with goodies. Beautiful surroundings. Very helpful and friendly staff. Hot tub was lovely in the evenings. And log fire for the colder nights just added to the experience. We will be returning guests for sure."

"We had a lovely stay here, it has everything you could possibly need and more. Everything feels so new and up to date, the hot tub is amazing and the huge bath was a great addition. The interior design is great and all the small details like salt and pepper & extra dishwasher tablets make the difference compared to other places weve stayed at. I would come back in a heartbeat. The only downside was the WiFi was not working however the TV was already connected to another one so we had that atleast."

"Good lodge, generally clean but the fridge hadn't been cleaned as it had pieces of pastry in it. One niggle was They had plug in air fresheners in the lodge and even though we unplugged them and put them in a cupboard the lodge smelled all week which isn't good if you are asthmatic."

The animal park was fabulous, we thoroughly enjoyed it and having access to it for the duration of our stay was an unexpected surprise. I would recommend everything about the animal park and lodge and the staff were fantastic too."

The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. "It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. "Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill. "

The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "

"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "

"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "

The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and secure for our dog Archie. The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. We felt our batteries had certainly been recharged during our week and we enjoyed our relaxing break! "

"Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend "
