"Lovely lodge"

"Spent a lovely weekend here 7-10 March. We stayed in Hawaii cabin which was very clean with very comfy beds. The hot tub was great to relax in after a full day exploring. The pizza van sold very tasty pizzas and the bar was very welcome, too. Staff very friendly and on hand if you needed anything. Will definitely come back."

"Beautiful lodge in a wonderful location. Perfect distance from York, the North Yorkshire Moors and the coast. The park was lovely and well presented in a lovely part of the countryside. We loved the fact you could see so many stars at night. The welcome was great and staff friendly. The lodge was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We loved the hot tub and the views out into the fields. Only criticism we could make was that the fridge was very small for a self-catering lodge but otherwise it was absolutely perfect. We would highly recommend to others."

"Great location and beautifully presented lodge. A few dirty cups and robes but we dont let that bother us. Would have been nice to have some cupboard space in the kitchen and some drawers in the bedrooms. Perfectly located for York and the coast."

"A lovely home from home, a generous sized lodge in a lovely peaceful setting. My only criticism is that there at a few things missing from the kitchens (decent sized pans for cooking especially when there is a big group of you). Also some of the living room furniture its looking tired and could do with a touch up. None of the above hindered our stay though and we had a great time"

"We returned back to Flaxton Meadows this year for our pre-Christmas getaway with the kids, always such a lovely place to come to, the early morning chats with the duck that comes to the patio doors is great with the kids. The only niggle we had both this last time & this time, is the lack of clothes storage (no drawers) but I suppose if you're on a short break this wouldn't be needed, everything else was just perfect."

"What a beautiful weekend away. The lodge was beautiful, luxury in every way! Gavin gave us lots of helpful information. Hot tub was fantastic, hot and clean. Really enjoyed getting our steps in round the little walk around the edge of the site (more for dog walkers but the kids loved it too). Looking over the pond was lovely to wake up to in the morning. All for a great price too. Will definitely be returning thank you Flaxton Meadows **"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Flaxton Meadows. The lodge was very clean and spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. The lodge (Kingfisher) over looked a pond and meadow and it was so peaceful. The bar on site is very reasonably priced and a little gem to go to after being out all day exploring (its a perfect base for exploring York, Whitby, Harrogate etc too) and we really liked the games tables also! All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful and really make the site even more special. It is one of the best sites we have stayed at and would certainly highly recommend. Im already trying to plan when i can return!"

"Lovely lodge. Relaxing. Clean. Lovely hot tub. Large rooms, plenty of space. Situated in a beautiful countryside. Not too far from York. Plenty of museums in York and places of interest in surrounding areas."

"The lodge is very clean and spacious. The only problem, we wasn't told that the only tv you can watch is if you have netflix or you can only get i-player. the peace and quite was good and the hot tub was enjoyed"

"A perfect 4 night break. The lodge was fabulous, well kitted out and clean & tidy. The hot tub had fresh water for our arrival and was checked everyday by staff. Enjoyed a pint in the club house. The setting was so peaceful, over looking the pond and the friendly ducks. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldnt have asked for a better stay. Thoroughly recommended. 10/10."

"We've just stayed for 4 nights in one of the luxury cabins! we really enjoyed it and it is one of the best hot tub cabins we've stayed in. We will definately be returning and will recommend to our family and friends"

"Good layout and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Lovely open plan kitchen diner. Just a couple of issues that could be thought about for any future improvements the camping site may have, there is no over in the kitchen to be able to cook. There is a combi microwave/grill which we managed to utilise one night. There is also an actifry but an oven would be so much more useful or at least advise potential stayers that there is no over.

Also there was no dustpan or hoover to be able to clean up, yes there was x2 types of sweeping brushes but there is a lip on the doors and so you have to give it some force to push the dirt out to get over the top of the lip.

Apart from that this was a lovely lodge to stay in, very eco friendly. Hot tub was amazing and set at the perfect temperature after spending the day out in the cold air."

"Our lodge at Flaxton Meadows was lovely. Very modern and in a quiet location. It was close to York (about 15-20 minutes away) The hot tub was amazing & the kids loved the board games provided.
A very relaxing weekend away. The ducks & peacocks visiting everyday was also a highlight. Would definitely recommend."

"We were a little concerned about the reviews stating the lack of an oven but our lodge (Paris Pitch) was equipped with one as are the majority of the others. The only reason for the 9 score was because you needed a car to get near to ant amenities such as shops and restaurants. However it is a lovely tranquil setting and perfect for a relaxing break which was just what we needed."

"We had a wonderful time. Such a beautiful lodge and the scenery outside while in the hot tub is stunning. The beds are very comfortable and showers were great! The only thing to be aware of is there isn’t an oven but there is a microwave and two ring hob. Apart from that there is everything you need for a lovely break. It’s also close to York so lots to do there for days out."

"AMAZING! The pictures just don't do this place justice. It was wonderfully modern, perfectly clean and a great place to relax and chill. The cabin was mega ECO and John explained a lot of what they'd done to make it so low energy comsumption. It was really comfy, all the fittings and finishings seemed to be of a high quality and we had a fabulous break there - the hot tub was a dream! Only thing to note is there is a 2 ring hob and a microwave combi oven, but no actual oven, so you'd need to think what you can cook with those limitations."

"Outstanding lodge in a lovely location. We were really impressed with quality of furnishings in the lodge and the hot tub was wonderful. The lodge sat right on the edge of the duck pond with a relaxing fountain which was illuminated at night. Our 3 year old loved the very friendly ducks that visited every morning. Only gripe was that there was not an integrated oven - a standalone mini-oven was in place but it was very difficult to cook for more than 2 people. However, this would not stop us from returning. Very happy with our stay."

"Flaxton meadows what an amazing getaway with a beautiful cabin and an amazing location, the log cabin was very spacious with everything you need and more. The campsite was lovely and the location was in a perfect spot as it wasn’t too far from York city centre and other places to visit. We would definitely visit again as we had a wonderful time."
