Westlands Country Park Reviews

"Loved the lodge, small wish that there was more cutlery and crockery. As a family of 5, (the lodge sleeps 6) it would be nice to have 2 each of dinner plates, side plates and crockery. The lodge was great though, very comfortable."
Jennifer - Apr 2024
"Nice lodge, some very minor issues, showing its age. Fantastic view from sitting room, watching the geese on the pond. Love the hot tub"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Well set up pod, we ate at restaurant so never used oven or microwave . hot tub well maintained. great winter's afternoon keeping warm enjoyed in hot tub very private. we are in our 60s so you need to be able to get up and down from ladder into bedroom space , bed on floor with little head space. We had a giggle every time we headed up to bed but grand children would have loved it."
Sarah - Mar 2024
"Great relaxing holiday"

Hannah - Mar 2024
"Stayed in the Keilder Lodge, 5 adults and one toddler. Great for a family catch up. Hot tub was enjoyed once toddler in bed. Great to have en suite in two rooms. Food at the restaurant was very good and not too pricey. We'll definitely be back."
Catriona - Feb 2024
"The escape pod was lovely and modern and clean. It comes with a hot tub which was a great way to relax. It also had all cooking equipment and utensils need for a self catering break. It has a lovely shower roo. With heated towel rail and other essentials like a hairdryer, tv, iron and ironing board. It had one bed up in the loft, and another that was set as a table to eat at but was easily turned into a bed and then the corner seating in the living room can also pull out for extra sleeping space. We had a comfortable sleep."
Leigh - Feb 2024
"So spacious it was just perfect, lovely on cosy on arrival. Hot tub like an infinity pool looking into the pond with the otters playing."
Verified Guest - Feb 2024
"Another fantastic lodge stay with friends the lodge was beautiful and so spacious I was really pleased at the sizing of the bunk bed room. Lovely meal at the restaurant with helpful staff. This has been my 3rd stay and I would definitely return."

Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Weve been at Westlands 5 times in the past 20 months but dont think well be back which is a shame cause we loved it but it seems to be going downhill n lodge not maintained and cleanliness not to a good standard. We were previously in savanna lodge 38 which we were happy with and its facilities but our recent holiday was In savanna 16 which we found to be dirty and not maintained to a good standard , no washing machine which other savanna had , furnishings were dirty and shabby not to previous standard decking and furniture was green and moldey although we appreciate its winter we paid a lot of money and it should be same standard all year round and unfortunately it wasnt .We ate at restaurant in the Stand first night and I ordered lasagne its the smallest portion Ive ever had anywhere it was tasty enough but portion was like a small childs portion. There was dogs faesces (poo)everywhere we saw several people letting their dogs do their business and not picking it up , the people in the lodge next to us also let their dogs do their business next to our lodge .The pot holes on the road were really bad I have mobility issues and hurt my ankle in one of them .Our overall stay has put us off coming back for a holiday unfortunately"
Joseph - Jan 2024
"Really nice and cosy lodge. Hot tub nice and warm and just what you need in the cold winter months. Lodge was nice and modern. Only downside was due to pets being allowed to stay, loads of dog hairs were left underneath the sofa and tv cabinets as well as dog toys. Clearly not been checked by cleaning staff. A nice relaxing complex and we have already booked for next year this time in a bigger lodge which is what we need for a family of 4. Overall we all really enjoyed our stay"
Greg - Jan 2024
"Lovely lodge , swift Toronto, only downside was not enough glasses or oven dishes, not all cupboards were cleaned out either, found old stick on nails.. rest all clean and no major problems, Nice site .. enjoyed our stay"
Emma - Jan 2024
"Loft bed space you had to crawl into itNo space in main bedroom Heating clicked on at 4pm and switched of at 9 pm Absolutely freezing No I would not recommend this for four people Two people was sufficient but would not return"

"Absolutely Fantastic. As Ive stated in my other review, you could not fault the lodge. It was massive, plenty of room for 4 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs. The hot tub was beautiful and everything was so well kept. We are already planning on staying again at some point in the future!"
Sophie - Nov 2023
"Beautiful lodge only thing I would change is the quality of the mattress they were too soft"
John - Nov 2023
"Was a lovely relaxing holiday the on site bar had excellent food and the staff were very friendly"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"We had the best stay at Westlands country park and can't wait to return. The lodge was spotless and beautiful surroundings. All staff we met were lovely and helpful. The Park is extremely dog friendly and our pup enjoyed the treats on arrival. We ate at the restraunt on our last night and it was the best meal we have had in a long time. Thank you for an amazing stay."
Joanne - Nov 2023
"Booked this for my husbands 40th birthday weekend, we came with our 2 children 10 & 18 and dogs and found the site beautiful and relaxing, the lodge was as pictured on the website and bonus of a hot tub which my daughter loved spending time in even in the rain. Lodge was very clean and so relaxing it felt like home. The site is beautiful to walk around and enjoyed walking the dogs around in the early morning, we ate at the restaurant both for breakfast and a Sunday lunch and the food is amazing. I also requested some help with decorating the lodge as a surprise for my husband and Susan was more than happy to help with this, she also helped me get a cake made by the chef, massive thank you Susan for this extra help and amazing customer service. Will definitely be back in the future. Oh and try the milk shakes from the Katie coos shed on site definitely a must ????"
Sam - Nov 2023
"We absolutely loved our stay, beautiful surroundings and not too far from day trips out. Restaurant was equally lovely and the food was amazing! Staff were really friendly and helpful, already looking at a break for next year ?"
Janine - Aug 2022
"Just returned from a lovely holiday at westlands country park. The park was lovely, slightly rough around the edges but this is to be expected with a new park. We stayed in a stargazer lodge at the end of the park which was serene, the hot tub was spotless and the lodge itself was lovely. (Did find a few areas that weren't as clean as I'd have liked, but nothing a quick wipe down couldn't sort!) If you're over 6ft though i would advise that the lodge could be a bit squishy especially if you plan on using the loft room. The tv is a smart TV but has no smart features as its unable to connect to any WiFi even though there is WiFi across the park. The park is totally dog friendly which was a winner for us, however the balcony doesn't have a side wall where the hot tub is so my dog did do a runner and escaped so bring something to tie your dog to if they can't be trusted! The shooting range operates from about 9am to 5pm and boasts a lovely walk round the park, however if you have dogs that fear loud noises this is NOT the place for you. Tesco in Annan is a 5 minute drive away, and on arrival you are given a promo code for a local shop which delivers right to your pod which is amazing! The restaurant is lovely and reasonably priced, and there is a small shop within the building selling a few cooled items like drinks and 'fridge food'. If you are staying with a dog I'd highly recommend driving down to powfoot beach, park on the green in the village and walk down to the sandpiper cafe for a drink and then walk back, on a sunny day it is beautiful."
Megan - Aug 2022
"Can’t fault this place you get what you see in pictures the place is immaculate lodges spotless and have everything you need . It was a bonus having the washing machine , dogs loved the walks around the park and their welcome pack was a special touch we loved the peace and quiet . The park doesn’t have anything for kids or night time entertainment but that was fine for us but if you have small kids it’s not for them . We loved it so relaxing ."
Sharon - Aug 2022
"The park was lovely, clean and tidy surroundings and well maintained. Good location for travelling to a variety of places."
Hannah - Aug 2022
"Thourghly enjoyed our long weekend break, The lodge was lovely and clean and bonus with hot tub. We booked the clay pigeon shooting prior to our stay for the Suday and we both enjoyed the experience, just wish it was longer than half an hour but still recommend the experience. Overall the place was nice and I found staff friendly enough. We bought a milk shake from Katie's Cow vending machine on site, which was delish ? We found local village Eastriggs to be ideal for walking our dog as it was only 5 mins away and there were a few good waking paths."
Joanne - Aug 2022
"Great location, remote while 10 mins from supermarket and restaurants etc. great shooting experience. Escape pods with hottub are amazing and have everything you need. On site Restaurant is lovely and value for money."
Brian - Jul 2022
"Everything you need in the lodges."
Sandra - Jul 2022
"Absolutely brilliant lodge,, very clean and immaculate. Little extras are a bonus, dog box, kitchen box. Hot tub brilliant."

Attractions Near Westlands Country Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Westlands Country Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 12 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 18 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 22 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 28 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 31 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
