About Wildside Highland Lodges

We think you'll love these fantastic luxurious lodges; they are beautifully furnished and set in idyllic woodland on the banks of the River Fechlin, at the heart of the Highlands. The views are simply breathtaking - there are stunning mountains, sparkling lochs and dark forests to explore on the South Loch Ness Trail, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Fort Augustus and Inverness are within easy driving distance and there is a wealth of facilities to enjoy.

Wildside Highland Lodges are close to a local country hotel that serves food and takeaway pizzas, plus there is the option of having gourmet food delivered to your lodge and even hiring your own exclusive chef if you're celebrating a special occasion. There are outdoor games like giant Jenga and draughts, a good outdoor adventure play area, free DVD hire and free fishing.

All the lodges here represent the height of luxury but we particularly like Tomatin Lodge. It's extremely spacious with a master double and one single room and has an open plan living area with kitchen and diner. You can make the most of all weathers with a wood burning stove for the chilly nights and your own private hot tub with amazing views of the River Fechlin and the surrounding mountains for the warmer evenings.

The South Loch Ness Trail takes in seven lochs and stretches for 28 miles between Loch Tarff to Troutbeck with several viewpoints where you can take in the magical Loch Ness. Urquhart Castle in Drumnadrochit is a historical ruin that overlooks Loch Ness and is embedded in local folklore and legend.

Wildside Highland Lodges Reviews

"The lodge was mostly spotless but we did notice a couple of weak points. Nothing awful though. The lodge itself is looking a little tired and would definitely benefit from a bit of varnish and paint."
Matt - Nov 2024
"Great little hidden gem, so peaceful and comfy. Surrounded by beautiful scenery."
Melvyn - Oct 2024
"See previous write up. We had a great time and particularly enjoyed the location of Otter Lodge."
Mr David Halik - Oct 2024
"So. Relaxing. Great hot tub.Would probably stay here again."
Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"Cosy. It's a lovely location, the drive down to Fort Augustus from here is spectacular. Although the lodge is small compared to some, the beds were really comfy and the effort with bed linen towels and kitchen equipment was fab. It's really rare to have a lodge with washing up liquid sponges oven gloves etc so this was great. Couch was comfy and great looking out the window. Water pressure and temperature was also great. Bath was a little bouncy when standing in shower, if your a bit bigger like I am but thats just a personal thing. I loved that they say they empty and refresh the hot tub for each guest. Got food shop on the way up, but totally forgot bread managed to get some in petrol station in Fort Augustus but it is expensive. Don't miss out on visit to falls of foyers its only a 10 minute drive, watch out for kamikaze grouse tho. Pub up the hill only 2 min walk and lovely food."

"Absolutely beautiful, great location, the wildlife, the people, the pub up the road is amazing food, very welcoming, the lodges hosts were lovely."
Meg - Sep 2024
"A good and luxury cottage in a. Nice surrounding"
Kees - Sep 2024
"Advertised as luxury lodge and it was not. Laminate peeling from kitchen cupboards doesn't say luxury to me.The website stated it was good for families ...teenagers with no wifi and absolutely nothing on site...not even any board games provided either which the description said there was.Used the hot tub and put on the robe they had for me in the master bedroom....it had someone else's tissue in the pocket.Miles and miles from anywhere and anything with either no or patchy wifi.Spoke to staff about repairs in kitchen needing done and was told they knew about it and they had started doing up some of the other lodges already. For the price we paid it was very disappointing. We wouldn't return here"
Verified Guest - Jul 2024
"The lodge was well maintained, comfortable beds, it was clean and well maintained. It wa was peaceful a very relaxing holiday."
Juliette - Jun 2024
"Fabulous break, immersed in beautiful countryside.Plenty to do in surrounding area.Cabins are well appointed with everything you need."

"Found the lodge very clean and the facilities excellent. Plenty of space for my wife and me and our great dane George. The hot tub clean and ideal for relaxing at the end of the day"
James Farnsworth - Mar 2024
"Only issue was that the lounge sofa was well past it's sell by date and needs replacing"
Peppe - Feb 2024
"Had a great 3 days in lodge. Beautiful setting, great facilities. Will be back!"
Christopher - Feb 2024
"The lodge was lovely and cosy. The location is extremely remote and only accessible by car so perfect for a peaceful get away. We visited Loch Ness one day and then went sledging in the Cairngorms another. Had such a great time that were already discussing a future visit."
Collette - Feb 2024
"We had a fantastic mini break and hope to return again in the future."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024

"The cabin we stayed in was just beautiful and the views where picturesque, the hot tub was a hit with the kids, they enjoyed sitting in it while watching the sheep in the field in front of them. We felt very at home in the cabin we had everything we needed and was decorated and finished with great details could not fault it at all. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a nice and quiet relaxing get away."
Verified Guest - Dec 2023
"There was no restaurant. Was there supposed to be one ?"
Billy - Dec 2023
"The lodge was beautiful, clean and very well equipped. Phone and WiFi reception was only available if you walked near the hot tub but that didnt spoil our holiday. We had a fantastic view and we were in a very private spot."
Julie - Nov 2023
"When having a shower you had a bath as well , poor draining in bath and sink, we managed to clear the bath a wee bit with using our hands as a plunger . The 4 slice toaster only the left hand side works, other than this the place was clean and had everything we needed ."
CAROLINE - Nov 2023
"We love our holiday and the restaurant, that was just a short walk away, was amazing! Great food, lovely staff so much so we went twice! Couldnt recommend highly enough x"
Nyssa - Nov 2023
"Everything great."
Tomasz - Jul 2023
"We had a beautiful stay here for our honeymoon, had absolutely everything we needed and the little added touches really made a difference. Such a quiet and peaceful stay. Cosy cabin with plenty of room for us and a Collie, comfortable beds for a good night's sleep after lots of walking and exploring. So much to do around the immediate area. Would certainly stay again for sure."
Bethan - Jul 2023
"Beautiful location, amazing views with spacious clean accommodation. Bed was so comfy! Showers not the most powerful. Staff are friendly and helpful. Site does benefit from nearby pub for evening meals, which are very large portions."
