Blenkett Wood Lodge Park Reviews

"A really beautiful lodge in such beautiful surrounding. It had everything you could need and the hit tob was great! It was clean and always warm.Location wise you really feel like you are away from it it all and secluded but you are still within easy reach of Windermere and other great places to explore."
Sarah - Apr 2024
"Great weekend in this cabin. Facilities in the cabin were excellent and the hot tub was great. Everything was well maintained and clean and the staff were helpful and available all weekend if we needed them."
David Westlake - Mar 2024
"My stay at Salaamata Lodge was a mix of highs and lows. The facilities, including the hot tub, were excellent and provided a relaxing experience. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the lodge. Upon arrival, I noticed that the sofa and cushions were covered in pet hair, and there was a noticeable amount of dust. Additionally, there were cobwebs on the ceilings throughout the lodge, which detracted from the overall ambiance. While the amenities were enjoyable, the lack of cleanliness was a drawback to an otherwise pleasant stay."

"Loved our break away. Beautiful setting. Enjoyed chilling in the hot tub and relaxing in front of the wood burning stove. Friendly welcome"
Lynne - Mar 2024
"Amazing lodge/location to spend Christmas with my kids. The lodge felt high-end; it was immaculate inside and out, with everything you could want and need, including fully array of kitchen equipment.I need to mention Phil and Rachel too (who look after the property), the care they show whilst looking after holidaymakers is second to none. A lot of hotels I have stayed at could take note of how to look after their guests, from these two lovely people. I will definitely be staying again x"

"no cover for the hot tub so creepy crawlies drop in as located close to cabin..rained during our stay the entire break .. car was in 5 inches of water every day as minimal drainage.. covered in webs with bugs inside .. not cleaned properly .. bathroom smelt mouldy too massively overpriced .. Not secure for dogs either ... give it a miss !"
Julie - Nov 2023
"Really good lodge everything you might require we loved it. Very modern and well presented. Good pub/restaurant nearby. Only minor comment is access road bit poor. Local area of Grange over Sands lovely."

Beverley - Oct 2023
"We had a great stay at Blenkett Wood, the location is close to a few small towns and the cabins are cosy, clean and decorated really nice. The small touches such as a fresh milk, fluffy towels and tea & coffee is a thoughtful addition. Ill definitely be back"

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 7 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 7 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 9 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 18 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 24 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 25 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 36 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
