"Beautiful surroundings. Peaceful & serene.Clean & comfortable with everything you need. I wouldnt book the Hollies at peak times due to the playing field being so close. Thankfully mid March wasnt an issue. Plenty to do within a short drive. Lake Vyrnwy & Powis Castle definitely highlights. The Nags Head Inn nearby great for a drink & food in the sun."

"We liked the lodge, it had everything we needed in there, and the outdoor area was secure, which is great when the accomodation allows pets, we always felt our dog was secure. It had a lovely rustic feel, and was an actual lodge, with lots of wooden fixtures.The fixtures were a little dated, and probably are due an update, but overall we were happy. One thing to be aware of is that it is advertised as having a bathroom and bedroom with an en-suite. The en-suite is just a shower behind a curtain in one of the bedrooms, which was a bit strange, meaning there was only one toilet in the main bathroom. Not a massive issue, just something to be aware of.Overall we were happy with the accomodation, and would come again. A bit of an update to some fixtures and it would be perfect."

"Stayed at the Murray spa twice now and love it. ideal for dogs and young children because of the balcony with gates. the only two negatives are which personal to us is that the view from the lodge is road view and not beautiful views of wales and the cleaning of the lodges could be of a better standard. The staff will go out of their way to assist you with anything to make your stay enjoyable."

Three of our party complained about them and decided that head home on the Sunday evening rather than stay another night. Whilst accepting it will never be like your own bed you do expect to be reasonably comfortable whilst you are away, especially when you pay decent money.This and this alone would stop us from making a return visit."

"5* stay at the lodge!The surroundings are incredibly beautiful, staff are more than friendly. There was a power cut on our first morning and Emma couldnt do more to keep us informed throughout the morning. The Cabin itself is divine- the kitchen has full cooker, toaster, big fridge and freezer, kettle and kitted out with all cutlery etc. It would be nice to have a hairdryer- as youre in the hot tub multiple times a day towel drying is a bit of a chore (after the rinse shower)- I would also like to have somewhere to dry multiple towels/swim shorts as the one radiator in the bathroom isnt enough and all other radiators cant be covered.Overall incredible stay- booking again!"

"The cottage has a nice homely feel to it , lovely gas fire in the main room to keep warm. The cottage has all the amenities you need. The hot tub was nice and clean. The cottage has its own drive with a full surrounding fence around the property making it ideal for dog owners."

"This was our fifth visit to Penllwyn Lodges. Its a peaceful site with the lodges set in a wooded area. When we first visited years ago the fishing lake did have fish in it but in recent times this seems to have changed. I asked at reception about the fishing and was told they no longer advertise it as a fishing lake."
