Penllwyn Lodges Reviews

"New sofa very comfy the larger tv helped very cosy need more lights above the dining area. Lovely lodge."
Louise - Mar 2024
"5* stay at the lodge! The surroundings are incredibly beautiful, staff are more than friendly. There was a power cut on our first morning and Emma couldnt do more to keep us informed throughout the morning. The Cabin itself is divine- the kitchen has full cooker, toaster, big fridge and freezer, kettle and kitted out with all cutlery etc. It would be nice to have a hairdryer- as youre in the hot tub multiple times a day towel drying is a bit of a chore (after the rinse shower)- I would also like to have somewhere to dry multiple towels/swim shorts as the one radiator in the bathroom isnt enough and all other radiators cant be covered.Overall incredible stay- booking again!"
Craig - Feb 2024
"Lovely cosy lodge with everything you need"
Verified Guest - Feb 2024
"The cottage has a nice homely feel to it , lovely gas fire in the main room to keep warm. The cottage has all the amenities you need. The hot tub was nice and clean. The cottage has its own drive with a full surrounding fence around the property making it ideal for dog owners."

"As previously stated frayed carpet, not enough in the kitchen, no curtain on door"
Sally - Feb 2024

"Beautiful cabin, just absolutely perfect. Freeview tv and dvd player handy for movies of a night. Kitchen with everything you can need with extras provided to make the break more enjoyable. Don't hesitate to book this cabin, you won't be dissapointed."
Gillian - Jul 2023
"Had a great holiday, good place to stay."
LINDA - Jul 2023
"Perfect lodge for a family escape"
Jessica - Jul 2023
"Lodge located on its own so very private and not overlooked, very steep walk up to lodge, not for the unfit. Everything you need for your stay need to take plenty of dishwater tablets as you will need to wash at least twice a day due to amount of plates. Low score mattress gave me back ache, no one else in the party suffered. Lodge was spotless. Plenty of space for 8 but seating outside bit squashed for eight people to sit round. We took a DVD player with Netflix and a switch which connected to tv easy enough. Would definitely go again."
Christopher - Jun 2023
"Beautiful lodge and surrounding area. Staff were very nice and helpful"
Melanie - Jun 2023
"Fantastic break"
Paul - Jun 2023
"Lovely clean and comfortable lodge, no complaints at all regarding the squirrels drey, already plan to book the same lodge for next year."
Sasha - Jun 2023
"Staff member who I spoke to was really cheerful and polite which was lovely. Cabin was gorgeous albeit a little bit creaky, but really authentic. The only thing that could be improved was perhaps the type of outside table provided. The cabin we were in had benches but with 6 people it would have been quite a squeeze, maybe an individual table and chairs set would make it more comfortable for people wanting to sit outside, but in no way did this affect our holiday, just an observation. Would absolutely book here again and I know that other members of my party are already looking into it!"
Emily - Jun 2023
"The lodge was a comfortable place to live. It was well equipped, and provided everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We only have two minor negative observations; firstly, the lodge seemed quite dark in some areas, so it was often necessary to have lights on during hours of daylight and, secondly, the insulation seemed poor and it was necessary to use the heating at times even at the end of May. However, these aspects did not detract from a nice break, and we would be happy to stay here again."
Ben - Jun 2023
"The Toft is ideally situated. The scenery is beautiful and loved the squirrels coming onto the decking. Would and have recommended the Toft."
Susan - May 2023
"Beautiful setting, glorious woods and countryside and a fabulous view. Was nice to be high up in the trees looking out from the lodge, and also to be out in the hot tub listening to the birds singing. This was our 3rd time we have stayed at the lodge. My only point would be that the hot tubs have been installed for a while now and it would be helpful to have some hooks outside to hang your towels from, and then also for a proper clothes horse to allow for drying as it was quite difficult to get swimming costumes and towels dry. Great location, near to Welshpool, Montgomery and Newtown. Easy check in, beautiful gardens and lovely canal walk from the site."
Sally - May 2023
"Will be back!"
Russell - Apr 2023
"Lovely chilled tranquil weekend"
Pam - Aug 2020
"Enjoyed our week at the Captain's Cabin. Beautiful scenery from the decking area and great view of the lovely golf course"
Moira - Aug 2020
"6 of in Squirrels Drew last weekend - the cabin was amazing and the story about how it originated was amazing left us all a bit emotional - possibly the gin though ? the surroundings are magical - the hot tub wow ?? The staff - well what can I say ????? Over and above ?? A beautiful place to go to and be at peace - please if you get the chance to visit grab it - perfect retreat - thanks y'all for everything x"
Sarah - Aug 2022
"2nd visit absolutely perfect like last time"
Karen - Aug 2022
"Amazing third year in a row we have been gutted we can’t make it next year but will definitely book again."
Laura - Aug 2022
"A beautiful and peaceful location, lodge had everything we needed and had a wonderful relaxed break. Only 1 thing to note accessibility the lodges are spaced around a very steep and windy road."
Kerry - Jul 2022
"This was our fifth visit to Penllwyn Lodges. Its a peaceful site with the lodges set in a wooded area. When we first visited years ago the fishing lake did have fish in it but in recent times this seems to have changed. I asked at reception about the fishing and was told they no longer advertise it as a fishing lake."
Elaine - Jul 2022
"The most beautiful and idyllic place. I fist stayed here on a family holiday when I was 11, I am now 40 and still love this place!"
Tom - Jul 2022
"The camp is beautiful, loved the way that the lodges were all far apart from each other."
Anna - Jul 2022
"Really enjoyable stay. Would return."
Tracy - Jul 2022
"Perfect little cabins and beautiful Jacuzzis. Absolutely loved the area and the surrounding countryside - its outstanding!!!! Just bring your bug spray haha as it is in a woodland. Very slight noise from the road during the daytime but absolutely no complaints at all!"
Chanelle - Jul 2022
"Very amazing place we have a wonderful time Very amazing staff Reception very beautiful lady Emma xx Thank you so much for amazing holiday xx"
Inara - Jul 2022
"Equipment in the kitchen was a little limited but otherwise cabin was lovely. Very cosy. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly."
