Large fenced off garden ideal for our dog. Fully equipped cottage with everything you need. We used the bbq one of evenings. Brilliant hot tub! "Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend "

The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. "The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "

"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "

Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "
