"We have stayed at slightly cheaper locations, but none as nice as this. With only a microwave in the kitchenette, it would be a challenge to cook a decent meal when the weather isn't nice (we were lucky so able to make use of the bbq).The wood-fired hot tubs were lovely though, as well as having the peacocks wandering around our feet when chilling on the deck with a glass of wine. Plus, the hosts were very attentive and made our stay very comfortable.We would definitely recommend Apple Mount to everyone."

"The Pod itself was rather cute, very comfortable and lovely amd warm. It was perfect. Little details such as providing us with tea coffee sugar and milk, even biscuits and hot chocolate. It was very thoughtful. Nice size pod for two including a hot tub which was so lovely. I would highly recommend staying in the pod."

"My partner and I have just returned from a lovely four nights away at this cottage. Lovely helpful owners which do not intrude and are there if you need them. Large fenced off garden ideal for our dog. Fully equipped cottage with everything you need. We used the bbq one of evenings. Brilliant hot tub! We would definitely return and have already recommended to friends. Thankyou for a lovely stay. "

"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "

"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "

Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "

Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill. "

"Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend. "
