"This lodge was smaller than the previous one we had but was adequate for our needs. It was clean and warm when we arrived. Everything worked. The shower heads needed replacing or a good descaling, they squirted in a few odd directions. The double bed needs either a mattress topper or a new mattress, it was a little lumpy in places."

"The lodge was spotlessly clean and very well decorated to a high standard and nice and modern. The welcome pack was very nice. My only slight niggle was the shower was either very hot or cold and didn't seem to have a comfortable in between temperature."

"What a lovely set up Clean, bright, well presented, plenty of space. Everything that you might need was there. My partner liked the coffee machine ??The hot tub and outside equipment- first class. We were there only 2 nights. If we were there longer wed have tested the bbq. Next door had theres going and it smelt beautiful ???? wished wed brought some burgers along."

"We had a lovely time at Yorkshire spa retreat. It is in a peaceful setting and the staff are helpful. The spa was small but we enjoyed it. Our treatments were good although only basic massage oil was used. The price is pretty high for treatments (£125.00) so I think there should be options for this. The site is very attractive but planting and groundworks still need to be done in some areas. Our lodge was lovely but the location of the hot tub in a very small area at the back of the lodge whilst quite private wasnt great as you looked into a big pile of earth, the surrounding fence or the back of the lodge - some creative planting could improve in time. We would return."

"Very comfortable with a equipped kitchen. Loved the barbecue best I have ever used. Master bedroom extremely comfortable with lots of storage space. 2nd bedroom ok but more suitable for children than adults. We were there with 4 adults and 2 labradors so should have booked a larger lodge"

"Well equipped but slightly dirty and too hot as no thermastat to control temperature. Bedding was made from down too which is known for aggravating breathing issues, myself and both children are asthmatic so they coughed alot and I could barely breath even after using inhalers so I put all the bedding in a cupboard and got my own."

Only slight niggle was a floodlight from the car park lights up the bedroom on a night but could be rectified with thicker curtains or blinds, also there is nowhere to hang robes or towels when in the hot tub as the outdoor furniture was soaking wet due to misty weather"

"The lodge was absolutely spotless and the outdoor spa and hot tub were a great added touch. The lodge was perfectly kitted out with everything even down to robes! We stayed over Christmas and when we arrived there was a Christmas Tree, gift pack and mince pies on our arrival. Such a lovely start to the holiday."

"The lodge was equipped with everything we need. The little hamper on our arrival was a nice touch. The lodge is nestled quite away from the other neighbours. 5 min drive away from Helmsley. A romantic getaway for a couple. 2for1 cocktails at the bar was a really good incentive."

"We could not have been happier with our break at Yorkshire Spa Retreat! We stayed in Star, a shepherd's hut with a hot tub. It was really well equipped, including a huge TV, a boiling water tap, and a Nespresso machine. The hot tub was glorious, and very private. Next time we'll come in Summer and use the complimentary BBQ kit! We dined in The Dome twice, one for grill night and once for lunch, and both were great experiences."
