The Milky Way Adventure Park is a fun day out for the whole family and has rides and attractions for all ages. There are four major rides including a thrilling roller coaster and an amazing vertical slide for the older kids and grown ups and six fascinating live shows which will entertain the whole family. Trethrone Leisure Park in Cornwall is a popular choice for a family day out and offers an excellent programme of activities for children all year round. The park has a farm area where younger kids will love feeding the lambs and other friendly animals. Pony rides, a large play area, ball pool; trampolines and crazy golf are also available.

Tintagel Castle is one of the most iconic landmarks in Cornwall and is an excellent place for a family day out. Situated on the stunning Cornish Coast the Castle has a mystical and magical presence and is steeped in historical importance. Indeed the Legend of King Arthur was born right here. The site also displays working and static exhibits of Steam Engines as well as old Fairground Rides so is educational as well as fun!

North Devon Farm Park is a haven for wildlife and has a fantastic location making it the perfect place for a day out during the summertime. As well as gorgeous scenery, picnic areas and plenty of space for children to play the park offers a Play Area, Tea Room serving local produce, a Petting Zoo where little ones will love meeting the affectionate animals and Nature tTails. There is also a Play Area.

Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park  is a big hit with families and has a wonderful setting within 26 acres of Sub Tropical grounds. During a stroll around the site you will encounter so of the worlds most endangered animals and also take a peek back to prehistoric times when Dinosaurs roamed the earth. The park is home to the worlds only full size animatronic Tyrannosaurus Rex as well as Lions, Wolves, Sea Lions, Meerkats and many other species, Top attractions include the amazing Sea Lion Shows, Falconry Display and Sea Lion Swims.

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.

Adrenaline Quarry is the place to head for adults and teenagers and children looking for adrenaline boosting activities. The site boasts the largest and longest Zip wire in the country. Other activities available include Go Karting and the thrilling Coaststeering - Climbing cliffs and jumping in to the sea! All ages and skill levels are catered for and safety is top priority. This attraction is really unique in that you have the opportunity to gain a rare insight into a working sanctuary.  You can see first hand all of the fantastic work carried out as well as seeing the monkeys themselves.  Other popular areas of this attraction include the Bat Cave and Wildlife Room. the Wildlife Gardens and the kids play area.  There is something for everyone at The Monkey Sanctuary and you can also sponsor and donate if you wish.  The cost to adopt a monkey is from just £2 a month.

The Donkey Sanctuary is a working refuge for rescued Donkeys but is also a popular place for a day trip in South Devon. The site will appeal to animal lovers of all ages and gives visitors the chance to meet some of the friendly animals and also learn about the work done at the sanctuary. Visitors will also have the opportunity to adopt a Donkey.

The Eden Project is a fantastic local attraction in Cornwall which will appeal to families and couples.  From the moment you step through the entrance it's clear that this is no ordinary attraction.  All under one roof you will find a giant rainforest, Horticulture courses, rock climbing, ice skating and an arts cafe.  Not all of these activities are on at one time, they are staggered throughout the year so check out the website to see what's available when you plan to visit.  Autumn at Eden is very popular with events such as daily apple pressing and Time Changing Tales (story telling with an autumn theme).

Springfields Fun Park & Pony Centre offers a day full of action and adventure for all the family come rain or shine. If the weather is good then children can take advantage of the vast open space to run around and play, enjoy pony rides, train rides, trampolines and Go-Karts and explore the nature trails. If the weather is not on your side then the huge play barn is the place to head and as climbing frames, slides, ball pool and rope swings as well as a baby and toddler area.

River Dart Country Park has over 90 acres of woods offering stunning scenic walks, beautiful lakes and open parkland. The park also has a good range of facilities for children including Jungle Ropes, Climbing Frames, Cargo Nets and a wooden Pirate Ship. For younger children there is a toddlers Play Area and a small Beach. During high season supervised activities may include the mega Zip Wire, Canoeing and Rock Climbing.
