Quarry Walk Lodges Reviews

"This was our second visit to Quarry Walk we stayed in Woodpecker lodge 44. Beautiful location lodge was clean and adequately equipped inside but tired looking kitchen cupboards which need recovering as there are sharp edges and its very dark inside and only one light in the bathroom. We went with our two pups there is a good walk around the park to take them but not much garden space around the lodge for them. Previously we stayed in 38 Owl Garden and this was perfect as it had an outdoor garden so we were a little disappointed with this lodge but only in that it was a lot smaller space. Hot tub was good didnt really have much interaction with the staff and didnt use the shop on site. We actually really like this place its a superb location for walks and things to do (ramblers retreat) the park is well maintained and we will be returning next year but will stay in a different lodge one with a bit more outdoor space."
Angela - Oct 2024
"The lodge was very well equipped and cosy, the hot tub was great. There were several cobwebs in the bathroom that had been missed in cleaning and a couple of items left in the dishwasher but not a huge deal. The property would benefit from some cosmetic updating and there was only 1 cushion between 2 sofas but overall a great stay."
Louise - Oct 2024
"Very enjoyable experience would have liked bird feeders out side had to put food on table"

"First time staying and my children and i are already trying to plan our next visit. Cabin and site was lovely, spotless and clean, staff were friendly and helpful when needed although were intrusive. Great location easy to find but far enough away from the noises of town. Wish we were still there relaxing in the hot tub."
Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"Absolutely loved our trip away. The lodge had everything we needed. They also supplied some tea and coffee and a fully equipped kitchen including a few cleaning products. The hot tub was great. It was a 10 minute drive from Alton Towers. We didnt arrive until after reception was closed but that was no problem and we had good communication with the people at the lodge on how to get in."
Hannah - Sep 2024
"Double mattress had a large dip in the centre.Dishwasher did not work and cased a foal smell in the lodge.Lights on hot tub did not workEverything else was good"
Vicki - Sep 2024
"Lodge was warm and cosy. Well equipped and WiFi (charged for) was fast and reliable. Hot tub well maintained and privacy screens installed."

"The setting is very beautiful, the lodge was in a really nice condition with a nice private setting amongst the trees. The staff were really nice, and the hot tub was very large."
Dean Well-River - Aug 2024
"Kitchen area needs smartening up, tired Doors but still usable"
Terry - Jul 2024
"Having a private hot tub and BBQ area to relax in was perfect for the sunny evenings we were lucky enough to have. Absolutely 10/10 and would highly recommend!"
Amanda - Jun 2024
"Lovely location and staff are friendly. The baker plus I stayed in was very tired and dated. Hot tub falling apart at the sides, kitchen cupboard doors have vinyl peeling off, sofas old and scratched though very comfortable. Huge uneven pot holes in the roadway but i guess it is a forest. Our lodge had a maintenance shed built into it and this was very noisy and left us with no privacy. Staff gathering and talking outside our window and parking the golf buggy right outside our lounge window. Wasn't happy with that at all. But the other lodges looked OK but didn't go inside."
Verified Guest - Jun 2024
"the lodge was tired looking and needed attention to detail. Lighting inside was poor. Beds adequate but not wonderful either. The roads were extremely bad. Didn't feel relaxed there. Staff quick to point out dogs should be on a lead but it would have been helpful to have information on where to take dogs off the lead in the local area. Will not book Quarry Walk Lodges again."
Karen - Jun 2024
"Perfect for a short break with the family. Lovely living space and comfortable bedrooms. Really well appointed kitchen with everything needed."
Sharon - May 2024
"Lovely holiday stayed for 4 days had all the facilities and very comfortable we went as a family of 4 and there was plenty of room for us all plus the hot tub was a bonus my kids loved it plus us"
Katie - May 2024
"everything you needed, any problems were sorted out straight away, comfortable lodge, good comfy beds, some tea, coffee milk when you arrive as well as cloths, dishwasher tabs etc, an airer to dry wet towels swimwear etc."
RICHARD - May 2024
"This cabin was in a beautiful location, but I would say the lodge was average. It was clean but not to an amazing standard. I understand its a lodge, but there were cobwebs and dust everywhere, it would take 5-10 minutes to further clean it. The hot tub lights were broke, and the hot tub kept losing water very fast. Which meant we couldnt use it later on in the day and when it was filled in the morning we had to wait hours for it to warm up. We went when it was very warm and the towel racks were up to the hottest heat making the cabin unbearable to be. The shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold. The fridge was not cold enough and some of our food went off. There were also clear cracks and bits of damage around the cabin. Overall, it didnt ruin our stay and it was lovely. Just with how much you pay a little more work on the cabin & hot-tub would benefit. Cant fault the staff, they were so lovely and welcoming. The picture was also a bit deceiving. We were very close to the other cabins."
Verified Guest - May 2024
"Excellent cabin with extra bedroom. Just a few minor things would make it exceptional eg bedside table on both sides of double bed and a cafetiere or other means of making fresh coffee."
Jacqueline - May 2024
"Lovely lodge. Basic but with everything needed for a stay. Quiet location ???? perfect for a pet friendly getaway."
Kylie - May 2024
"Relaxing break"

"Fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. Full sized fridge freezer, fully stocked kitchen. Few dishwasher tabs, tea towel, washing upLiquid etc in the lodge.Bedrooms good size with storage. Hairdryer included. Underfloor heating in bathroom and heated. Towel rail handy for drying swimwear Towels and toiletries provided. Great place to stay"

William - Aug 2022
"Had a great holiday at quarry walk lodges, lovely place, cabin was clean and spacious, hot tub was fantastic was only a short distance to all the activities around that we had booked, only thing was not within walking distance of a local pub but we had our own entertainment at night on our private porch. Would definitely recommend if visiting alton towers, waterworld, cannock chase go ape etc"
Claire - Aug 2022
"A lovely place to relax. You don't get a WiFi or data signal here unless you walk up to reception area as its quite remote and also a signal to call on your mobile phone too. We stayed in fox Lodge 4 , no 56. The hot tub is huge and very private. Definitely recommend."
Maria - Jul 2022
"Very relaxing, total disconnection, 100% recommended"
Eric - Jul 2022
"Clean, tidy, very peaceful & relaxing, hot tub brilliant, staff on hand if needed, ticked all the boxes, will definitely book again next year."
ANDREW - Jul 2022
"Amazing trip booked for a third visit already."
Mark - Jul 2022
"This was the perfect getaway break we needed where we did not need to drive we just enjoyed the walks in and around the park. We found a nice pub for lunch and enjoyed the hot tub and relaxed the whole time. The only little thing which would have been nice if there was a tv in the bedroom as the sofa is not the comfiest for chilling out. But this is a very little thing! The lodge was clean and had everything you would need and the guy came round to show us how to use the hot tub within 20 mins of checking in. Was perfect defiantly coming back again."
Laura - Jul 2022
"Amazing customer service helpful staff and information booklet would definitely be going again"
Danny - Jul 2022
"We stayed for a week mid July and it was absolutely perfect. Very idyllic setting in the woods, 1 mile walk from a great pub nearby, lovely dog walks and four miles from Alton Towers. Was so relaxing ending each day with a hot tub. The staff were all very friendly and our son enjoyed the little play park on site. Great holiday!"
Caroline - Jul 2022
"Loved it here. So quiet, secluded and private. The road could do with levelling out lol. We had no privacy issues with the hot tub and it made our stay amazing. Couch wasn’t that comfortable though haha"
Ellis - Jul 2022
"The hot tub is amazing! Stays hot for ages and has great lights and jets. The lodge itself is clean and equipped with everything you need, including milk, shampoo, towels and all utensils and pans. The location is lovely, in the middle of nowhere yes but just what we wanted and takeaways still deliver to reception. There's no signal so paying for wifi is a must - £18 for 4 days for multiple devices which I thought was reasonable. Staff also really lovely and welcoming. Would definitely return!"

Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 34 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
