About Ramshorn Estate Woodland Lodges

Ramshorn Estate Woodland Lodges are fantastic if you're looking to combine a luxury lodge holiday with the fun and adventure of Alton Towers theme park which is less than 3 miles away.

The two and three storey lodges offer plenty of space, so are ideal for families looking for a home from home base.  The icing on the cake are the private outdoor hot tubs, a lovely way to relax and unwind after a fun-filled day.

Of course, Alton Towers is not the only attraction in this gorgeous area.  The Peak District National Park is simply stunning and offers some of the best cylcing, climbing and walking in the country.

We love the Stanton Lodge which is a first class lodge with three floors and with spectacular tree top views.  This lodge has a total of 7 bedrooms and can sleep up to 14 which makes it a great find for anyone looking for larger than average lodge accommodation.  The lounge is open plan with a cosy wood burning stove.

Ramshorn Estate Woodland Lodges Reviews

"Well set out lodge for our family holiday. Plenty of space to spread out."
Peter - Nov 2023
"Could do with a bed upgrade in main bedroom, and some cushions on the sofas"
Fiona - Nov 2023
"The oven wasnt spotless and one of the chopping boards had been put away dirty but theses were very minor bugs in an otherwise enjoyable stay and wouldnt put me off staying again"
Lynne - Jul 2023
"The beds are comfy and there is everything you need. I understand the kettle on the stove but I would prefer an electric kettle, especially when theres 8 people."
Lyndsay - May 2023
"Fabulous time had by all the family would highly recommend. Great location great place to relax and unwind"
Dawn - Aug 2020
"Will hopefully visit again."
Stephen - Aug 2020
"Excellent location and well equipped comfortable cabin for our large family group plus dogs."
Anna - Jul 2020
"Didnt get woodland 6 for some reason we were put in another lodge"
Debra - Jul 2020
"Could not recommend highly enough. Stunning lodge"
Claire - Jul 2020
"We were in the bedroom on the left at top of stairs
TV in there but didn't work. No lamps and no mirror which would have been useful
Apart from that very well equipped and comfortable"
Gill - Feb 2020
"Excellent lodge for ultimate retreat from outside world"
Garry - Feb 2020
"Amazing stay, gutted we didn't book for a longer break"
Chantell - Jan 2020
"Nice lodge with everything you need in the cupboards. The hot tub and wood burner a lovely touch. We travelled for a birthday celebration in-between Christmas and New Year (27th-30th Dec) with 5 ad and 2 small children, you can't check in until 4pm, and have to be out at 10am, so although it was nice, it worked out VERY expensive for just two full days.
(I blame my Mum, why couldn't I be a January baby? - I could have saved a fortune!)"
Gill - Dec 2019
"Absolutely wonderful lodge, great layout, wonderfully warm and exactly as we hoped it would be"
Andy - Dec 2019
"Fantastic break with everything available to make our stay comfortable and relaxed"
Michelle - Dec 2019
"Overall had an fabulous time"
Debra - Nov 2019
"Fantastic location and loaders are beautiful.. will Definately be staying again."
Andrea - Nov 2019
"The setting of the lodge is beautiful and the lodge itself could be amazing, it does however need to be revamped a little.
The lodge was clean enough in the important areas -bathrooms and kitchen but could do with a good deep clean (there were lots of cobwebs, dusty shelving, frayed carpets & dirty curtains).
The hot tub was great and was cleaned and maintained throughout our stay.
All in all it was a lovely place to stay and we would stay there again.
I would recommend to the owners though that the ensuits need doors instead of curtains for more privacy!"
Hayley - Sep 2019
"A brilliant family break - loved it"
Kev - Sep 2019
"Fab lodge & hot tub, only downside was that there are no woodland/country walks accessible directly from site, car is needed."
Debra - Jul 2019
"Amazing place, amazing holiday, will book again most definitely"
Crosby - Jun 2019
"Fantastic, had a lovely break away with my family"
Kerry - Apr 2019
"Great place, we loved it."
Kelly - Apr 2019
"Way beyond my expectations, great value and just amazing accommodation :)"
Rebecca - Feb 2019
"Absolutely fantastic setting and lodge was amazing. Staff were very helpful and quick to replenish wood, etc. My only three small points to make are:
1. You need some steps to get into the hot tub - it is crazy to have to move the bench to be able to get in and out of it and for health and safety reasons proper steps would be preferable.
2. There should be a non-slip matt (as I had to purchase!) inside the back doors for when you come into the lodge from the hot tub
3. A regular electric kettle would be quicker for 10 people to have a hot drink instead of waiting for two kettles to boil on the hob

Apart from that it is a beautiful setting, well thought out and furnished lodge and we all had a fantastic time!"
Karen - Jan 2019
"Lovely if u want to get away from everything, but take food with you as theres nowhere on the doorstep to get anything"
Michelle - Jan 2019
"2nd time on this estate and it won't be the last. Quiet location, with everything you need in the accommodation."
Jill - Nov 2018
"Perfect Lodge for a big group, well appointed with fantastic hot tub."
Emma - Nov 2018
"There was 14 of us ageing from 67 to 10 months old and we all enjoyed getting away in the woods, and would look at going back."
Stephen - Oct 2018
"Only negative - no steps for hot tub. Apart from that is was a great stay, in a brilliant lodge."
Chris - Sep 2018
"We had a brilliant family holiday in the Stanton Lodge. 9 adults + dog. The lodge is very spacious with plenty if seating & equipment for the full capacity of people, we were short of nothing. . There is a lovely village pub/restaurant about 15 minutes walk down road. A car is really necessary to explore the surrounding area. We would definitely like to return in the future."
Vic - Aug 2022
"Great little lodge we booked this Monday to Friday for 8 of us two families and there was plenty of room and toliets for us all to have our own space. Close to Alton towers if you want to go to theme park but not pay expensive price for accomodation near, also found a little animal farm not too far either for the kids. Would definitely consider coming again, one downside was the flies that came when we were in hot tub, but we didn't let that bother us and still enjoyed the whole experience"
Jenna - Jul 2022
"The family and I had a great time in the Weaver lodge. Everything was well stocked and clean and tidy. The hot tub was well used and much appreciated. It was a lovely sight for a holiday and I would recommend it to others. I would suggest that there is either another airer or lots more pegs on which to hang wet towels and swimming things when the weather is cold or damp. Thank you."
Ros - Jun 2022
"Wonderful stay in stunning location. The birds song was fantastic. Could barely hear or see any other guests. Really well laid out and had more than we could have wished for in terms of pans, dishes and crockery."
Emma - May 2022
"Amazing lodge, location, hot tub. Went on a hen party with 10 other Girls. We had the best time. Communication is to a very high standard from staff. Loved it and will definitely be returning"
Emily - May 2022
"Beautiful Lodge, lovely environment."
Karen - Apr 2022
"Lovely family break. Well equipped and beautifully clean and well presented. Would recommend"
Helen - Apr 2022
"Great family break. Good location and everyone loved it."
