Lodge Guide

Booking a holiday lodge near Wipsnade Zoo gives you and your loved ones the ideal base to chill out in privacy and explore the UK’s largest zoo and all the other nearby attractions. Booking a cabin with a private hot tub is hands down the best way to meet thousands of animals in this ZDL conservation zoo.

Whipsnade Zoo spans around 600 acres making it the UK’s largest animal attraction. For those keen to visit, you can find this popular conservation in the small village of Whipsnade, Bedfordshire.

What can you do at Whipsnade?

Explore Whipsnade Zoo’s Captivating Wildlife

Whether you’re visiting with family, a group of pals or on a lodge break as a couple, this zoo has plenty to keep you enthralled during your visit with over 10,000 different inhabitants in 2024. From giant lumbering elephants to the stunningly beautiful 30 species of butterfly, there’s a diverse cast of characters for you to meet and fall in love with.

As with any good zoo, Whipsnade is a great place to learn about the animals, their habitats and the struggles they face in the wild.

All the usual cast you’d expect from a good zoo are here from imposing-looking Rhinos to cheeky chimps that are always up to mischief.

Events

There are also seasonal events you can enjoy during your visit to the zoo at Christmas, Halloween and other major holidays. You can take part in world Rhino day in September and there’s likely something happening when you’re there. It’s worth checking their events calendar to see if you like the sound of anything.
