About Ribblesdale Lodges

These impressive lodges are ideal for those seeking something extra special. The luxurious lodges and cottages are beautifully set in the grounds of the historic Gisburn Estate and come very highly recommended.  The area around the site is one of great natural beauty with the stunning Ribble Valley (the inspiration for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings) right on the doorstep.  The Yorkshire Dales are also within easy reach offering numerous outdoor pursuits.

Each lodge has been designed to meet the needs of the most discerning guest and manage to seamlessly blend contemporary design with rural charm and comfort.  Enjoy your own private decking area with a sumptuous outdoor hot tub or take advantage of the on site massage therapist to really unwind. A range of traditional beauty treatments are available along with some more holistic alternatives.  Fantastic semi detached cottages with their own gardens and private hot tubs offer another option for accommodation.

Nearby Pendle Hill offers a challenge to keen walkers who can reward themselves afterwards at the famous Assheton Arms in Downham village (the setting of the BBC's Born and Breed drama).  Just a ten minute walk through the Estate from your lodge, you'll discover the stunning market village of Gisburn with a delightful pub, award winning Italian restaurant and quaint shops selling local organic produce gifts and crafts. The Lancashire coastline and numerous market towns are also within reach.

There are four types of lodge to choose from. The Milan Lodge offers superb luxury and a large open plan living area along with two bedrooms. The Moray Lodge is perfect for two couples and has 2 double bedrooms as well as a private outdoor hot tub. The Balmoral Lodge is larger and has three bedrooms and a large living area as well as a patio.

Ribblesdale Lodges Reviews

"Needs completely revamping, outside area not great, hot tub very poor and old."
Verified Guest - Sep 2024
"Stayed as a family of 5 with a 20 month old and a dog. Overall a very good stay. Lodge was bigger than expected- very large and spacious. Furniture appears tired. Washing machine was a great touch. Hot water was intermittent. Outdoor area decking/fencing needs a deep clean and in need of TLC. Hot tub was great - remained at temperature throughout. The pub/restaurant had a great outdoor seating area. Staff seemed very busy - they failed to inform us of the happy hour offer and failed to explain which drinks were included in this. Shame as we spent a lot of time there and didnt find out until the last two days. The park area could do with more facilities - especially for toddlers. Overall would recommend to visit."

"Some of the fixtures and fittings are starting to look a bit run down and in need of repair. The hot tub lid was broken and needs replacing."
Verified Guest - Jun 2024
"This was our 3rd visit to Ribblesdale Lodges. Previously stayed in Wentworth and Sika. This time we stayed in number 58 a Knightley Lodge. Unfortunately, we were not as happy in this lodge as the previous ones. Quite a few negative points that can be easily rectified. We had paid for an early check in and had to wait an extra 1/2 an hour more to be ready. So we decided to have a drink while waiting. This took 20 minutes to arrive? One coffee and one beer. The young male staff member being quite abrupt saying we had to come back at 1 for the lodge. This lodge has become slightly run down needing some tlc in places. Firstly, the wooden gate was broken, it had been mended before but it was still not right and quite difficult to shut properly. The paved area was quite dangerous in places with large spaces in between that needed filling in also weeds growing in between. Some of the paving moved and was broken. The sofas were dirty and marked and very soft. The toilet in one bedroom did not flush well and the button on stop needed replacing. The door handle on the inside was very loose. The dining table we had to keep cleaning as it was extremely sticky, which wouldnt go away. Kitchen equipment needs replacing especially the one frying pan. Some fixtures and fitting also need replacing throughout. There is an outside light that stays on all night, no switches inside the lodge. Unfortunately, this can be seen through, under and above the curtains in the main bedroom which keeps the room bright all night. There is also a boiler housed in the main bedroom that goes off through the night without any heat being on. The shower tray kept filling to the top, so maybe this is blocked? We are disappointed to leave these negative points as previously the lodges were good. On a positive the area is outstanding and the park kept extremely clean and tidy. It is lovely for the peacocks and deer to come into your area and be able to feed them. We felt that the lodge and possibly others have become slightly run down. Understandably the park is open all year round so repairs can be difficult, however if some were closed and repaired where needed negative reviews wouldnt be necessary. There has been a change over in staff in the restaurant. Having booked a table for all three nights. The service we received on the first night was very bad, being understaffed we were later told. We were in there two hours for one course, we had ordered a dessert that sat on the counter for 20 minutes. We left and paid for what we had had. We had to keep asking for the correct cutlery and to order a drink and food. The two young waitresses were not very accommodating. That is not the customers issue Im sorry, we are not local or residents, just staying at the park. The food however is good. We were offered a meal on them the following night by the manager, we declined and cancelled the last two evenings tables booked. We had previously on both occasions we stayed at the park, ate in the restaurant every evening. We would highly recommend The White Bull in Gisburn. Staff and service excellent and the food was beautiful. So disappointed to leave a review with quite a few negative issues as previously we loved staying at this park. This review is based on our experience in this particular lodge."
Joanne - Jun 2024
"Very good accommodation and park facilities. Excellent cafe and bar. Park ground fantastic.Only disappointed was the condition of the decking."
John - May 2024
"Ribblesdale Park is a lovely setting. We stayed in a Morland Lodge and it had ample space for 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Upon check in we were told the lodge was ready, the heating was on and the hot tub was ready for us however when we got to the lodge the heating was not on, the fuses were all switched off and the hot tub was only up to 20 degrees and did not reach optimum temperature until the next night. The bed in the smaller double room was terrible, it creaked and you could feel every spring. These were the only things that let the lodge down. Overall we had a pleasant stay."

"We visited the same lodge 4 years prior and everything was top spec. Unfortunately on this occasion it appears as though little updating has been done. Hot tub cold on 2 of the days. Hot tub in poor condition, with head rests missing no lighting working and cover not really adequate."

"There were a few issues that need attention for eg loose door handle in main bedroom and the light switches near the bed do not work Loose plug socket in small double roomCorkscrew / wine opener does not work Dishwasher tablet draw not easy to get shut mechanism not quite right I think a small side table in the main room would be helpful A rail for the steps outside would be helpful my mum has limited mobility so a rail could help. This sounds like we weren't happy with lots of things but we love the place its our 3rd time there and we plan to come again ! But these little things perhaps are missed in quick turn overs so I wanted to flag them up."
Jane - Dec 2023
"Bront lodge was clean and comfortable , it had a huge garden which was enclosed for the dogs . It was a spacious lodge with everything we needed to self cater . The beds were comfortable and its so quiet at night time , perfect for a good nights sleep. The hot tub was well maintained and super clean . We had a lovely stay"

"We had a fabulous staycation at Ribblesdale Park on the whole, few minor details ie few problems with the kitchen design and outside gate. We had the Spa treatments from Harriet and that was exceptional. Overall we enjoyed every minute of our holiday."

"~We don't tend to return to a holiday location once we have been there but if were, we would definitely return here"
Miranda - Aug 2020
"Great Lodge on a beautiful park in a quiet setting. Ideal for our family with a teenage daughter to please, the hot tub was superb."
Beverley - Jul 2020
"Great location. Cabin could of been cleaner. Only 1 tea towel for a week and no cloth or sponge for washing up. No laundry facilities in cabin or on site. Decking needed a good clean and repaint. Expected better for the price we paid. We've stayed in much better cabins for a fraction of the price"

Louise - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodges in a tranquil setting. Hot tub was great. The only negative was it was quite a walk to the swimming pool from the lodge so we gave that a miss. But overall fantastic weekend with the girls"
Andrea - Jul 2022
"Beautiful lodges in a beautiful setting. Had a wonderful time."
Kathryn - Jul 2022
"Wonderful place , we would definitely return ?"
Kerry - Jul 2022
"Really good. Weather is critical but the heated pool helped when it was overcast and cool. The hot tub was excellent. The lodge was first class and outdoor area of the lodge was perfect. I felt I could have stayed longer just taking it easy. If I couldn't be bothered to cook, the restaurant would satisfy my needs. The staff were easy to talk to and made us feel special. Because the weather can vary, some information on local attraction would have a help. Advice on where to buy a paper ect would have been welcome if included in the welcoming notes."
Alan - Jul 2022
"Beautiful location, cabin clean and spacious. However a few minor tweaks would have improved an already great stay. No shade outside and no umbrella for table provided. No plastic glasses as stated."
Rachael - Jul 2022
"Beautiful setting and lodge was beautiful as well"
Jane - Jul 2022
"Excellent high quality lodge, very clean and kept in good condition. Parkland setting was very nice with plenty of local walks."
Richard - Jul 2022
"Had an absolutely fabulous week here. The lodge was beautiful, very clean and well equipped. The beds however are extremely uncomfortable and as I have multiple health issues I had to purchase mattress toppers to make it bearable! The hot tub is set a few degrees too warm and after a warm day was too hot to get in and the staff could not lower the temperature. Be aware the kettle is not electric it goes on the gas hob, so plan a cuppa in advance as it takes an age to boil hehehe. The surroundings are beautiful and there are very tame peacocks strolling around and the beautiful Fallow deer stags wander round the park. We hand fed them as they are so tame and friendly. This really made it special. The restaurant had a limited but good menu and the food was excellent. The park need to consider installing charging points for electric cars."
Rachael - Jul 2022
"A family holiday spent at Ribblesdale Park was wonderful. The lodge itself was beautiful and clean and the hot tub was much appreciated. The lodge was secure with fencing and a gate which was much appreciated with a small dog and a toddler! The surroundings were idyllic with peacocks and deer roaming the grounds. Although Gisburn itself is a quiet village, there is so much to do in the surrounding area all within a short drive from the Park. A great holiday, we will return."
