"The location id idyllic and the lodge was spacious and spotlessly clean. The host, Jennifer, was a delight and very helpful, she was also full of knowledge information regarding the fauna, animal's and bird life on the farm"
Verified Guest - Aug 2024
"Lovely family owned farm with peaceful surroundings and a father and daughter who were happy to help in any way.Perfect."
Adrian Haslett - Aug 2024
"Had a week long holiday with my wife and two sons. The beds were very comfortable better than a lot of hotels and B&Bs. The hot tub was checked daily. The staff were friendly and had lots of advice on enjoying the area. Easy access to York. The cabin was situated next to a field which allowed for relaxing views whilst dining outside. The BBQ was gas fueled which was provided by Home Farm. We were lucky enough to be there during a meteor shower and with the low light pollution and dark skies had some amazing views of meteors and shooting stars, as well as great views of the stars in general. We were supplied with extra towels half way through. We had a great Holiday which felt remote and stress free. The road into York was quite and even at 0900 the drive into York was quick with little traffic. The designer outlet was about a five minute drive."
Robert - Aug 2024
"Fabulous location , cabins and staff."
Verified Guest - Jul 2024
"What a perfect place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet, we used the park and ride for York this was so cheap. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, the views over looking the fields. This place was beautiful we will be booking again."
Denise - Jun 2024
"It was a delight to arrive to our lodge and find the peace & tranquility we hoped for. Beautiful setting that our dog approved of too."
Gillian - Jun 2024
"Very nice and very comfortable (shower ..perfect) chalet in beautiful countryside. Lovely to have the cows (safely) visit in the adjacent field. Not a traditional site with lots a facilities but It was a refreshing change to stay somewhere that wasnt commercially set up.We were visiting the area as attending a wedding locally but if visiting the area again would definitely stay at Home Farm again"
Cate - Jun 2024
"Great beds , nice and warm , jacuzzi was fabulous. All the cooking facilities you need."
Verified Guest - Jun 2024
"What a beautiful place!! From the moment we got there to going home a week later we absolutely couldnt fault it! The lady that runs it was so wonderful and went out of her way to help you. The lodge was stunning, so warm, light and airy. We stayed in the beech lodge that had a hot tub. The tub was checked every day and the water was hot. We used the new bbq which worked perfectly. Kitchen came with everything you needed and the sofas were that comfy we fell asleep on them. Beds were made up on arrival and the mattress was incredibly comfy, the only thing that was on the downside for us would be the size of the shower, its really small and you have to go sideways to get in but other then that we couldnt fault the holiday. We absolutely LOVED the night time visits from the farm cats, we had left the bathroom window open and we heard a bang, went to inspect and found Tigger had jumped through the window and was waiting for us on the toilet haha! Perfectly situated for York and the supermarket is really not far away. For a working farm and campsite we heard no noise at all. Definitely will be returning very soon! Thank you so much for a fantastic holiday! **"
Sarah - May 2024
"The double bed wasnt the comfiest and the settee were so soft you had to climb out of them."
Carly - May 2024
"We had a lovely stay in Beech Lodge. The lodge was warm, very clean and had everything we needed. We all enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub listening to the owls and watching the bats fly over. The location is very peaceful but only about ten minutes' drive from the York Designer Outlet which has a very efficient and good value Park & Ride service into York city centre. We look forward to staying again!"
Abigail - Apr 2024
"Great place to stay very quiet and views over countryside"
David - Apr 2024
"Really lovely location. Very helpful owners. Peaceful and not too far from the centre of york"

Janet - Feb 2024

Milburn - Jan 2024
"We loved our stay at Home Farm. Jenny is so welcoming. She contacted us before our stay to let us know about road closures due to flooding and said shed have our cabin ready earlier so we didnt have to travel in the dark. She was on hand during our stay if we needed anything. The cabin was lovely so well done out with absolutely everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was wonderful (and super well maintained! ) with beautiful views. Its in a great location just a short drive to York. We really didnt want to leave! Well definitely be back !"
Caroline - Jan 2024
"Good choice."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"This has been our second year at Ash Lodge ,we find it very comfortable and quiet just ideal for a quiet time. Found the lodge clean and comfortable so we've booked straight away for 2024 ????"
Dolores Hobson - Jan 2024
"Absolutely lovely, however the mattress in large bedroom is too soft and wobbly (needs changing) could not get a good sleep. Would also recommend a hairdryer plus a plug socket near the mirrors to dry your hair. The light in the kitchen needs to be brighter (had to use a torch to read the oven dials). Also put a light up on the Willow farm sign at the front of the farm we missed the turning numerous times due to the darkness at night I will still recommend the place to family and friends"
Datren - Dec 2023
"Our long weekend was just brilliant. The lodge has everything you need and its clean. The farm is so peaceful and I loved waking up and looking out over the fields and watching the sheep. The hosts, Gordon and Jen were super welcoming, friendly and helpful. Gordon even offered us a lift to the bus stop one morning, bless him. Jen cleaned the hot tub daily and always had time for a chat with my dad. The location is great to travel into York for the day, with the luxury of returning to your own lodge and relaxing in the hot tub.It was a lovely stay and we would certainly return."
Tracie - Dec 2023
"Third time here. So peaceful yet convenient for York. Very good value. I am sure we will be back soon."
Margaret - Dec 2023
"Have visited Home Farm numerous times and always a pleasure to return."
Patricia - Dec 2023
"Had a lovely stay here, very relaxing. Hosts were great, hot tub was cleaned and maintained daily. Overall had a brilliant time, quiet and peaceful with just a 5 to 10 min drive to York."
