White Rose Country Cottages Reviews

"We had a fantastic stay at this cosy cottage. Perfectly situated for exploring or just unwinding with some lovely local walks nearby. Definitely recommend!"
Emma - Sep 2019
"The cottage was really lovely and spotless, which we appreciated. A bit of a hassle that only one toilet roll and bin bag were provided, plus no washing up liquid-no onsite shop either, so bring your essentials!"
Emma - May 2019
"Great spot for discovering North Yorkshire, highly recommend it!"
Emily - Jan 2019
"We really enjoyed our stay here, loved the cosy vibe, but be prepared to drive everywhere, as nothings nearby."
Emma - Dec 2018
"Our White Rose Country Cottages review: Solid experience, would definitely repeat it"
James - Oct 2018
"The pet charges seem unfair since I don't have any dogs that shed or moult."
Emma - Sep 2018
"Charming little cottage, feels really warm and inviting. Lounge furniture could use a refresh though."
Emma - Sep 2018
"We had a lovely stay! The cottages were quiet since no other guests booked, so we didnt see anyone from the park or cottages, which was perfect for us. The access was separate, so it felt private. We enjoyed exploring the areaand the location was really convenient and comfy. Definitely recommended!"
Emma - Mar 2018
"Charming place, definitely returning soon"
Emma - Feb 2018
"Great, would recommend"
Emma - Dec 2017
"We recently brought the whole family here-my partner, our two kids aged 4 and 6, plus my mum. Honestly, the place exceeded our expectations; the photos online didnt do it justice at all. The downstairs area was way bigger than we thought, which was a nice surprise. Also, we werent expecting a downstairs wet room with a toilet and sink-really handy. Weve already recommended it to friends and familyand yes, wed definitely come back! We visited in October/November 2017."
Jodie - Nov 2017
"Great vibe, really relaxing, but most facilities and the pub were shut, which was a letdown."
George - Nov 2017
"The cottage was perfect for us, offering plenty of room for our family of four. Highly recommend."
Emma - Oct 2017
"Lovely stay, would definitely come back again"
Oliver - Sep 2017
"Really enjoyed our stay, the place was comfy and perfect as a starting point. Lovely time!"
Emma - Dec 2016
"We stayed in a lovely cottage that was spotless and really bright, with super comfy sofas which made relaxing really easy. The garden at the back was charming, overlooking a peaceful field with some sheep roaming about - perfect for a quiet getaway. We visited towards the end of the season, so the campsite was pretty quiet, which suited us just fine. The indoor pool was a highlight; it was warm most days, although the only changing areas outside the pool were unheated and a bit of a chilly dash! Our kids didnt mind though. The park itself was pretty nice, but we did notice the shop's shelves were quite empty - a bit of a let down. The pubs opening hours were a bit unpredictable, which was a shame as it wouldve been nice to have dinner there daily. Thirsk is a gem, especially the James Herriot museum - we were really impressed! Overall, wed happily come back, just wish the pub served daily meals and the indoor pool had proper changing rooms."
Emma - Oct 2016
"Really enjoyed it, definitely worth booking, well be coming back for sure!"
James - Oct 2016
"The cottage was lovely and cosyand the pool was a real plus. The staff genuinely helpful, though the pubs midweek closure was a bit inconvenient if you enjoy a drink. Still, we had a good stay overall!"
Alex - Jul 2016
"Really enjoyed our stay here. The place was spotless, warmand welcoming from the moment we arrived. Parking was straightforwardand its a great base for exploring the area. Well definitely come back!"
Mark - Nov 2015
"We had a lovely stay, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The accommodation was charming and peaceful, perfect for exploring the area. The on-site pub and kids' facilities made it even better. Didn't want to leave!"
Emma - Aug 2015
"Really enjoyed our stay"
George - Mar 2015
"It was super quiet during the Christmas period! The accommodation was just perfectand we couldnt find anything to complain about. Really enjoyed our stay!"
Carol - Dec 2014
"We had a lovely time at the cottage! The only small issue was that there were a few spiders' webs around the top of the door frames - just a lack of dusting! Its not really a complaint, just something we noticed."
Sophie - Aug 2014
"We found the cottage comfortable, but there are definitely improvements that could be made! Plus, it's quite pricey for the size of it!"
James - Aug 2014
"We were really impressed by how spacious the cottage was; it felt much roomier than a caravan and had all the kitchen utensils we needed for our short weekend. The place was very clean and well-equipped. The bedding and towels were of excellent quality too! Plus, it was great to bring our dog along, who had a fantastic time instead of sulking at home after being at the kennels. Such a relief!"
Emily - May 2014
"Value for money? Since practically every UK holiday privider has hiked up their prices due to losses made during Covid it's difficult to say any UK holiday is value for money. Making up for losses should not be put on the British public who have also suffered. We needed a break so we took one.

The cottage however was lovely, clean and presentable. It was also very comfy, the beds were brilliant, really easy to get a good night's sleep. We loved how we could sit out back in the sunshine and enjoy breakfast to the distant sound of sheep bleating.

Having one's own parking space right outside was a bonus.

Lots of really nice places to visit locally.

Two on site swimming pools, but the outdoor one was freezing! But once you were in you soon got used to the temperature.

Just one thing was missing and that was wifi. No wifi for guest residents of the cottages. Internet is now so much a part of our lives that this could be a deciding factor for some people. We know our teenage son was gutted, but we set him up with a phone hotspot.

We would go back."
James - Jan 1970
"Clean accommodation but very basic"
Jill - Jan 1970
"We didnt have any real need to contact the staff, and although the interior of the cottage was excellent the outside needs some work on it but I expect that this has been lined up for later."
Graham - Jul 2022
"Great set of cottages with all the comforts of home. The area is peaceful and close to everything that North Yorkshire has to offer."
Lynn - Jul 2022
"Great base for visiting places and walking. Oaks fishery just round the corner if fishing is your hobby."
Robert - Jul 2022
"Lovely cottage which looks like in will soon be installed with a hot tub. I hope it is because I’ll Defo be back"
Emma - Jun 2022
"Lovely relaxing break beautiful place friendly staff. Cottage was lovely comfy beds extremely comfy Thank you"
Julie - May 2022
"We all loved our weekend brake we were all impressed with the cottage it looked like it had just been refurbished. It was central for our needs for york and eden camp most definitely be going back most enjoyable."
MARTIN - Apr 2022
"Stayed at cottage Birch, just been renovated so cottage was absolutely beautiful. Only thing I'd add is couple kitchen appliances needed, like dishwasher rack for dishes, chopping board and sweeping brush. And the outside pool roof needed a good clean. Everything else was perfect, I would recommend and I'll be back. Thank you for an amazing stay! X"
Emma - Apr 2022
"The cottage was lovely. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice location. We have booked to go back again in the summer."
Suzanne - Apr 2022
"Excellent cottage and lovely and warm, would recommend to family and friends, we were made very welcomed."
Henry - Apr 2022
"Lovely cottage & we will be back. Do not let reviews put you off!! Clean, tidy & very comfy beds. Just a shame the pub ran a ticket event for Halloween, we didn't know this, so children missed out."
Heather - Nov 2021
"Great place shame site pub was shut"
