Woodside Coastal Retreat

A fantastic resort with a private shingle beach.  This place is really the best of both worlds being close to coastal resorts like Cowes and Fishbourne and yet is surrounded by lush woodland and wildlife.  The nature trails from the park are perfect for exploring.  We love the Osborne View Premier Lodge which sleeps 4 and comes with a bubbling hot tub.

Rookley Country Park

These hot tub lodges are situated in beautiful grounds with some amazing views.  The area surrounding the lodges is a haven for wildlife and those who like outdoor activities will love Rookley Country Park.  But if you prefer to spend time relaxing then you can enjoy the comforts of your lodge and also the heated indoor swimming pool. If you enjoy fishing then you'll be in your element with fully stocked lakes right on your doorstep.

Lodge Holidays on the Isle of Wight

Romantic breaks

Booking a lodge break at the Isle of Wight is a very popular choice with couples looking to get away from it all and relax.

As well as having some alone time in a luxury lodge, and letting time slip away in the hot tub, there are lots of great days out for couples including exploring the coastal footpaths, trying one of the many restaurants or stopping off at one of the bars. At night the pubs all have lovely food and welcoming fires.

Pet Friendly

We've featured a number of accommodations with hot tubs that are pet friendly. If you're taking your canine companion on holiday with you it's good to know that the area is extremely welcoming to pets and their owners. You'll find the Isle of Wight has many restaurants and pubs that will be as happy to see our pooch as they are to see you. And with the endless footpaths and opportunities for walking available your break, this is definitely a good destination with dog-lovers.

Getting out and about on your lodge break

The area has many attractions for couples and families. Those seeking adrenaline-boosting fun should try the breathtaking chairlift rides at Needles lodge or have a go at one of the many water sports on offer including windsurfing and jet skiing.

Families may prefer a visit to Dinosaur Isle which is an amazing dinosaur museum housed in a spectacular pterosaur-shaped building. Blackgang Chine theme park is another option and offers many rides and attractions for adults and children of all ages.

Isle of Wight Gardens

Just ten miles from Woodside Coastal Retreat sits Ventnor Botanic Garden - this is a fabulous place to come and learn all about the plant world and this is something both couples and families could enjoy.  Visit in the Spring and Summertime to get the most out of this attraction on your lodge stay.

Mottiston Manor Garden is also a really interesting and colourful day out for anyone who has green fingers or enjoys a wander around a stunning garden.  The terraces offer amazing views and you can take in the scent of the fruit trees.  The 16th and 17th century manor house is at the heart of the Mottistone Estate and there are some great walks from here.

Best Beaches on the Isle of Wight to visit on Your Hot Tub Getaway

Isle of Wight Beaches

When you think of the Isle of Wight you can't help but think of golden sandy beaches - they are one of the main reasons families enjoy holidays in this location.

Gurnard Beach

With a great position west of Cowes, this is a very quaint resort and should be on your list to visit during your lodge break.  The beach shelves gently and you'll find a mix of sand and shingle.  It's also a brilliant beach for windsurfing so water sports enthusiasts will enjoy it here.  Another great option is Cowes Beach to the west of the town centre, this beach is fantastic for swimming or sitting watching the world go by.

Ryde Beach

Ryde is a popular resort for locals and those taking a well-earned hot tub break alike and Ryde Beach is a great attraction.  Both clean and safe, this is a good choice for families with younger children. You will also find plenty to do here from cafes and restaurants to shops and playgrounds and even a golf course!

Other fantastic beaches worthy of mention are Colwell Beach for watersports and Ventnor Beach - a great place to soak up the sun on the golden sands.

What else do you need to know?

The pace of life on the island itself is much slower than what you might be used to, which is a good thing. You can slow down and leave behind the mad rush.

The weather on the Isle of Wight is generally very good, with plenty of sunny days to enjoy the water and try out some watersports. Although it's often fun to hop in the hot tub on those cooler Autumn nights too.

Locals are very friendly and welcoming to guests with tourism being very important to the Island. There are plenty of shopping opportunities here, and we recommend you visit the shops in Ryde and Shanklin. You'll find all kinds of interesting places to buy gifts, toys and tasty treats!

The traffic can get slow during peak times so just be aware of that.

Final thoughts on the Isle of Wight

With so many people turning to holidays in the UK, hot tub breaks have become extremely popular. You'll have complete freedom to do whatever you want, and choosing a holiday park will allow you the perfect setting to explore the island whilst also being able to relax at the end of the day.

The Isle of Wight is the kind of place that you'll likely not want to leave and we know a lot of our visitors return there year after year. There's always something new to see here. Nowhere here is really too far to drive to, and your lodge will also have things to see and do within walking distance.

Despite its size, the Island is packed with things to see, do, taste and enjoy whether you're coming away with a party, bringing the children or looking for a relaxing romantic break.

The Isle is a really unique mix of country and coast bringing together the best of both in one holiday. Watersports, great places to eat and many family days out are all within easy reach of each other. And there's always that bubbling hot tub to look forwards to at the end of the day!
