The Bay Colwell Reviews

"We stayed at The bay Cowell for 2 nights, 3 night were booked but it really wasn't for us.Cottage was very very tired, your could see the the staff had cleaned and it was a clean to the best they could do but the furniture and lodge it self was very worn. Covered the sofas using the spare sheets as these just looked really dirty chairs looked dirty and just really needed some freshing up. Mouldy blind in the bedroom I noticed this whilst In the hot tub. Bathroom just needs re doing, I just don't feel it should be advertised as a luxury cottage. On the Saturday I noticed there seems to be something leaking from the floor, but was unsure mopped this up and it had come back slightly the next Morning, we had gone out out the the day and at around 4 pm noticed the marks looked wet.We and informed reception, maintenance man came round immediately and was very nice and helpful also said it looked like there was a leak under the floor. Said would get someone to come and clean. But we had already made the decision to leave. Couldn't fault the staff and the children really loved the pool. But it's not somewhere we would choose to stay again. The location however is lovely and we really enjoyed the walks on the beach."

"Overall, we're pretty happy with it. If we had to be picky, a pair of kitchen scissors and a heat-proof board wouldve been handy-especially for handling hot dishes. The only board included was that white plastic one, which isnt ideal for everything."
Jasmine - Apr 2025
"We stayed for a weekend and honestly, it felt just like home. The cottage was spotless and super peaceful. Loved the welcoming vibe and the swimming pool was a real treat. Beach walks were gorgeous too. Were already planning to return next year, cant wait!"
Amelia - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our time here, definitely planning to return soon."
Amber - Dec 2023
"Our The Bay Colwell review: We stayed in a pet cottage recently and honestly, it was a mixed bag. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom areas were spotless, but the lounge wasnt quite up to the same standard, especially since were not pet owners. The sofa looked like it had quite a few dog footprints and was a bit worn and the table was of poor quality with some marks. There were also dog hairs everywhere and we ended up sweeping a dustpan full just after arriving. On the plus side, the location was fantastic and the place was well-equipped and comfy overall. We did have a bit of an issue with the boiler on Saturday evening, but the staff responded quickly and sorted it out without fuss - their helpfulness was top-notch. Would we stay again? Definitely, but probably in a non-pet option next time if its available, since were not pet owners. Oh and they didnt have a tin opener, which was a minor inconvenience."
Daniel - Nov 2023
"Great fit for our family life!"

"We stayed in January and really enjoyed it. The bungalow was spacious, warm and filled with natural light. The indoor pool was just the right temperature-super inviting. The surroundings were stunning, making it a perfect, relaxing getaway. Well be back!"
James - Jan 2020
"We had a lovely stay overall. The lounge bathroom and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The outdoor sitting area was a real highlight, perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was a bit cool at first, but it warmed up after a while. The kitchen design could be better, though."
Chris - Nov 2019

Sam - Jun 2019
"We absolutely loved the cottage! Its beautifully decorated and had everything we could ask for. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was just perfect. Only thing - the sofas a bit small if theres more than two of you."

Jess - Aug 2017
"Perfect spot to relax, peaceful and very calming."
Laura - Aug 2017
"We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is perfect, with stunning beaches just a short walk away - honestly, some of the best on the isl and in our view. The staff went out of their way to help us, especially when our washing machine broke; they suggested other options and even arranged to send back our things at a fair price. The only downside was the wifi in the corner of the park, which was a bit patchy. Overall, a lovely stay!"
Charlie - Jun 2017
"So location was lovely … cottage was clean and tidy but sofa beds were really uncomfortable and not very nice. The hot tub was good, not the best one we’ve had but did the job … intially all the water splashed out as we all got in and because it was put in uneven it all sloshed out one side! But overall ut was clean and fairly tidy. Would stay there again as loved the pool and the beach was near!"
Caroline - Aug 2022
"Fantastic accommodation and location. Only downside no wifi in accommodation."
Nicola - Jul 2022
"The Bay Colwell was a lovely cottage that we stayed in and had everything we needed. The cottage was clean."
Jackie - Jul 2022
"Lovely site, well laid out cottage and just a short walk to Colwell Bay's beach. We chose a cottage with a hot tub but as there were so many beaches near by that were safe to swim in we didn't really have much time to use it. Would definitely book there again."
Anna - Jul 2022
"Had an amazing week at The Bay, Colwell. Perfect location, and so easy to get around the island. So much to see and do. Only couple if negatives, no WiFi in cottages, double bed could do with a new mattress as a bit lumpy but nothing that spoilt our holiday. Will definitely return in 2023"
Sarah - Jun 2022
"Lovely place, close to sea and some good resturants. Dog friendly resort and the little pack left for our dog was a nice touch too"
Lucy - Jun 2022
"Third time visit, lovely and quiet. Would like Wi-Fi in bungalows."
Bryan - Jun 2022
"We had a fantastic time and the accomdation was perfect, the swimming pool was great and the loungers were great after to chill on"
Samantha - Jun 2022
"We thought it was amazing! Couldn't fault it :)"
Anna - Jun 2022
