Woodside Coastal Retreat Reviews

"Great break away. Lovely views and a relaxing hot tub. Only negatives would be that the kettle was full of limescale, the toilet roll holders were very lose and the end posts of the bed were missing their tops. The lodge had lots of space to relax, plenty of plug sockets, lighting options and equipment to prepare meals. Personally I would of preferred a non wood chopping board but that's my preference."
Clare - Mar 2025
"The Lodge is good for a holiday stay, but the seating is limited with only two settees for four bedrooms, so beware of thinking there's comfortable seats for everyone if over four people. The kettle needs descaling. But other than those items we had a good stay. The Beds are very comfortable but one double bed squeaks when movement occurs such as getting in and out of it."
Derek - Mar 2025
"Beautiful, spacious lodge with excellent views and a nice big hot tub.Beds were comfortable and clean, the ensuite was perfect.Kids both very happy with Thier rooms."
Verified Guest - Mar 2025
"Great location for exploring rest of the Isle of Wight Lodge comfortable well equipped maybe a manual on how to use combination microwave would have been helpful ?Hot tub was nice after a day of sightseeingViews everything hoped for over the solent"
Wendy - Mar 2025
"Absolutely gorgeous lodge , hot tub was beautiful and the view of the sea from our lodge was amazing ! Very clean and also was warm on arrival which was perfect. All of the facilities are fab . My second time staying at Woodside bay and it was just as good the second time. Will be staying again in future ."
Sasha - Mar 2025
"Lovely location with fabulous views. Our cabin, the Osbourne, was spacious with ample decking to sit on when the sun came out.Only issues were the cooking utensils could do with an overhaul & a vegatable knife added but overall a great place to stay & I'll be recommending it to anyone wanting a holiday on the Island."
Paula - Mar 2025
"Our lodge was clean and comfortable and had everything that you could want. The washing machine was a bit noisy (think due to worn bearings). The only negative I have was the neighbours. When we arrived they all jumped out of their seats like meerkats and watched us unpack our car, but never said a word. This happened every time we went out and came back. The first night was horrendous, party night from our lovely neighbours, we couldn't hear our TV because they where trying to sing on the decking, with the doors wide open with loud music pulsating. There where about 10 people in this lodge by this time, so you could imagine the noise. I phoned reception and they where very quick to respond to this and shut them up, so we could go to bed and sleep. Hot tub was wonderful and the beds where comfy. I would go back. just as long as I don't have any inconsiderate people nearby."
Janet - Mar 2025
"Not luxury. It needed a really good clean and is looking very tired. We got a good last minute deal, so we werent too disappointed, but having looked at the prices to re-book, we wouldnt re-book at the current prices. Hot tub was a great addition, Views and location right on the beach were great."

Iona - Jan 2025
"Hot tub was cold, had to wait till next day before being able to use it.Half the pumps on the hot tub dont work.Couldnt get hot water.Tv kept losing signal, couldnt watch anything.Needs updating / some money spending as everything looks tired.Ive been going for over 10 years, and Im afraid to say by far the worst experience and dont think I will be returning."
Philip - Jan 2025
"The view is great of the Solent from Carisbrooke Premier View Lodge..all feels spacious inside..3 bedrooms..one en suite..Kitchen has all you need, home from home, and the lounge is a great place to be all together...also looking out on the hot tub,and the outdoor table and chairs, extends the space even more..All bright and fresh as soon as we stepped through the door..and all very relaxing..."

"We always love Woidside Coadtal retreat..Carisbrooke Premier lodges are our favourites..Stepping through the door of the lodge the first day, feels so fresh and bright..The whole holiday can feel very relaxing.."
Verified Guest - Dec 2024
"The furniture I think could be tailored a little more to the space, the positioning of the tv with the sofas wasnt ideal so when you are trying to cram 7 people onto the sofas in front of the tv of an evening it was a little challenging!"
Chloe - Dec 2024
"Was good value for money and very comfortable"
Verified Guest - Dec 2024
"Lovely lodge, well kitted out, a little worn around the edges but still a lovely place to stay."
Matthew - Dec 2024
"The lodge was very comfortable. My husband couldn't use the hot tub though as the temperature stated it was at 38 degrees but it was absolutely boiling hot and didn't feel safe to go in. Hopefully this would be fixed next time we visit."
Carly - Dec 2024
"Great lodge and outstanding view across the Solent. lodge had everything you would need for a holiday"
Ian - Dec 2024
"Great relaxing 4 days away in beautiful.locationVery reasonable rates . We were happy with everything but just a couple of things would improveNot much cutlery maybe some had gone missing.no.ice cube tray. Furnishing bit tired and small rip.in sofa but very warm.comfortable lodge this didn't matter.Hot tub much nicer than expected and cleaned twice a day."
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"Just fabulous thankyou."
Stephen - Nov 2024
"Nees complete redecoration. Radiators rusty, sofa dirty, tables and chairs need rubbing down and refurbishing. All very comfortable though"
Ann - Nov 2024
"decided to book a Carisbrooke view Premier Lodge to celebrate my mums 70th birthday. However, on our first night we all gone to bed there was a loud nibbling and scratching sound coming from under the kitchen cupboard skirting boards. Once we investigated we could hear there was some kind of rodent under the kitchen cupboard skirting boards trying to get out. Then the sleepless night started we all went to bed only to hear the sound of claws running around. I opened my bedroom door and to my horror saw a rat running around in the lounge. We all barricaded ourselves in the bedroom. My mum was crying because she hates rats. None of us got any sleep as all we could hear was the rat scratching and running up and down the hallway. In the morning I went straight to reception and explained what had happened and showed them the video we had taken. The receptionist told me they would just send pest control to take a look. I really had to demand to change lodges as I wasnt prepared to stay in a lodge with a disease carrying rat. Within the hour I was told I could change lodges so absolutely shattered we all had the task of packing up our belongings and moving to another lodge and unpacking all again, after this we all went to sleep for the best part of the day, so both Friday night and Saturday was ruined for my mums celebration. Definitely not a relaxing retreat that I had paid for as we all left feeling stress and very tired. After this terrible experience, I spoke to the manager Ian who had no sympathy regarding the situation at all and told me I should expect to find rats in the lodge as I was staying by the coast, which I found to be shocking and a ridiculous excuse. Maybe they should start advertising this fact on their holiday booking website. So if youre looking for a relaxing rat free retreat with great customer service then DO NOT GO HERE."
Patricia - Nov 2024
"Lodges are close to the beach and well equipped winter break charges are cheaper than some caravan homes which are smallerThe sites at Woodside are attractive and well kept"
Colin - Nov 2024
"Lodge was very comfortable and roomy. It had all the equipment needed. The en-suites were a little snug but clean and usable."
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"We cannot say how much we enjoyed our recent short break. It was worth paying a little extra to have a lodge with immediate access to the beach and good views. We loved this site because it was very quiet and peaceful. The lodge was in very good order, well equipped and warm!"
