Retallack Resort and Spa Reviews

"Excellent short break"
Verified Guest - Mar 2025
"On entering the lodge we noticed a disposable razor left in the hallway on the floor by the boiler cupboard, clearly from the last customers. Not ideal especially if you have children, luckily we didn't"
Claire - Mar 2025
"The lodge was not the same as whats shown in photos for this lodge type. It was very dusty and dirty inside. This being said reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the location and property itself was lovely"
Verified Guest - Mar 2025
"Can we just say the staff at this place are actually amazing. Extremely helpful and polite, great communication and are some of the friendliest staff weve known at any park. Sadly the lodge/barn itself was pretty grim no hot tub until the second night as obviously it had been cleaned (thats obviously a good thing) however it took until the second night of our stay to heat back up. Usually its no problem, but as my ms has got worse the car journey down was painful and I was hoping to use the water in the tub to ease some of the discomfort. The barn is very tired looking, very knocked about and needing tlc. The no no for us was the cleanliness.. yea, Im not sure apart from clean bedding and the hot tub if anything was cleaned. Even down to old tooth picks in the rug. ????"
Evereds - Mar 2025
"Our Retallack Resort and Spa review: The cabbin was superb , clean , luxery, modern , set up like a show home on arrival.lovely looking over the lake.while sat in hot tub .Can't wait to visit again"
Richard - Mar 2025
"We had a great time. We stayed in the 3 bedroom barn and it was just like the pictures, probably better. It had all the facilities we needed. I would definitely recommend and most definitely will be staying there again."
Elesha - Feb 2025
"Staff so helpful the lodge was sparkling clean"
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"These barns are crammed in like I said I my previous write up I do think that they need proper routine maintenance as so much need sort and this isnt the first time Ive stayed there."
Amanda - Feb 2025
"The lodge was fine - the sofa not the most comfortable but OK. The light switches were very confusing. Lovely deck and outside seating.Beds comfortable and bathrooms clean."
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"Overall the lodge was brilliant, very spacious, modern decor etc. one of the best lodges I have stayed in! The only let down was the heating system kept malfunctioning therefore maintenance visited daily where we were informed it was a manufacture problem. We were offered to move but stayed where we were. Also the last night following a daily inspection of the hot tub, the jets etc didnt seem to work as was set in demo mode but we made reception aware the next morning on check out."
Carla - Nov 2024
"Bare minimum of all equipment.2 days the boiler was faulting so no hot water in the morning.Things bashed and chipped and worn, very tired looking.Front Door bangs and rattles like someone is trying to get in if the wind is bad. We were there in a 2 day storm so for 2 nights we got zero sleep as the door banged continously."
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"Inside was realy good.couldnt use outside because furniture was wet and green with mouth not just spots but loads and the decking in parts."
Linda - Oct 2024
"Not what we were expecting"
Gillian - Oct 2024
"Needs bigger beds. All other equipment and quality excellent! V substantial lodge, and much better than the average "holiday lodge". On a par with permanent house."
Paul - Sep 2024
"5 star! Absolutely fantastic place, clean, comfortable and great facilities!"
Bridget - Sep 2024
"The accommodation was just outstanding! Cannot fault anything about it! Plenty room for two cars!"
Verified Guest - Aug 2024
"It was all lovely. Some bits needed fixing, but maintenance were quick to come and resolve."
Verified Guest - Aug 2024
"There was a crack in the shower tray in the main bathroom and the en-suite shower leaked through to down stairs. Apart from that the lodge was lovely."
Verified Guest - Aug 2024
"Very disappointed, its dirty, pool needs shutting down and cleaning. Showers in the charging rooms I wouldnt wash my dog in. The lockers are shabby and locks dont work. If for any reason you wanted to use the pool, you cant go to the pool more than once in the day. We booked the pool for each day our grandchildren didnt want to go back after the first time, for kids not wanting to go to the pool again says it all. The pool is the only activity you dont have to pay for. Any time we were near the pool it was all but empty. Going into the pool you have to leave your shoes outside with now safe place to leave shoes. Staff walk from outside onto the pool side. If your disabled with mobility issues its not practical, stairs up to bar, there is a stair lift but you have to ask reception to use it, but to get to the pool and flowrider down more stairs with no lift, you can exit at ground level but you have to go through the emergency exit through the pool having to take off your shoes, my daughter was taken through the treatments rooms to exit once .Staff members parking in disabled parking spaces at the main reception, additional disabled parking bays blocked by staff or holiday guest. Please check when booking that if your a wheelchair user the pathway up to your accommodation doesnt have steps., we didnt and had steps. The grounds around the site needs attention. Please check age/hight limits for children with the activities or if an adult is needed. Our grandchildren are 12 and 10 a adult had to be with them in the aqua park, we are a disabled adult family so they could not go. The Flowrider (surfing simulator)is brilliant for the 3 days we where there the kids went everyday (its not cheap though). The instructors are so good our granddaughter has very low self esteem/confidence at the end she was standing up. We tried to book a table for the restaurant 2 people took our phone numbers, nobody got back to us, ended up booking online. Our accommodation was wonderful, everything you needed. Will also say the staff were very friendly."
Verified Guest - Jul 2024
"Beautiful barn, absolutely spotless 100%"
Verified Guest - May 2024
"Not the lay out I thought I booked from hoseason but modern and tidy. Balcony is not really private where our lodge was. Sofa wasnt that comfortable and seemed broken in the middle and even though it was a 4 berth seating didnt cater for that offering a chair Id use as a dressing table rather than in a lounge area. Had to bring the garden furniture in. Beds were comfortable and black out curtains were a nice touch and the lodge was warm when we arrived though needed to turn the radiators off as it got very hot. But no curtains or blinds on the corridor windows. Lodge had a dust pan and hand brush but could have done with big brush or even a Hoover. Kitchen layout was good but not much space for cupboard space food. No measuring jug."
Verified Guest - May 2024
"Beautiful location nice apartment. Had a couple things that needed fixing it was done pretty quickly."
Verified Guest - May 2024
"I can only base my scoring on the 4 bed lodge with hot tub and roof top terrace. We did walk past the 2 bed and they looked very nice and we definitely would have been happy with it if it had 2 bathrooms."
Michelle - Apr 2024
"Good holiday, issues with electrics twice, trip switch issues, not good but was told to leave a particular switch off, we did but obviously there was issues with this.Lack of toilet rolls one between two bathrooms, had to ask for more which was granted. Outside furniture needs to be cleaned.Signs needed around the park especially when walking ."
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"I appreciate that its self-catering, but I wasnt expecting to have to bring my own toilet roll! The heating did not work in the apartment at all, every time you try and cook anything - the fire alarms go off, there was mould around the doorframes, cobwebs everywhere, cutlery missing, the radio didnt work and hadnt been PAT Tested in three years. Its a nice place, but I feel like were just trying to scrimp and save for no real reason. With a bit of work, it could be lovely!"
