Sun Valley Reviews

"We had a great time at Sun Valley, staying in Fowey house. The accommodation was large, comfortable beds, well equipped and with good quality towels provided. The hot tub was great and was serviced twice a day. The site was very quiet and we enjoyed being able to walk down the cycle path to the beach at Pentewan."

"Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable Great location Very quiet Very helpful staff"
Subita - Feb 2024
"DO NOT STAY HERE! There is no restaurant, despite being advertised everywhere, including hoseasons and on the park entrance signage. The staff actually laughed when i mentioned the restaurant as if I'd gotten it wrong, but it remains on the sign as you drive into the park. The pool was closed, apparently has been for some time. The park staff made it seem like it was a recent thing. They offered to refund the cost to take the family to a nearby pool but this meant parking the car, paying for parking and limiting the amount of times we could go. We were looking forward to the ease and convenience of a pool on site as well as a restaurant. If we had known in advance that these weren't open, we wouldn't have booked.Twice during our stay the electrics at the site went out. On one day it was out from 5pm-3am. The site staff provided a torch which ran out of battery and meant that within our large group (which included young children, octogenarians and people with disabilities) had to deal with the cold of a November night. There is also no reception at the site ( which obviously the park could not fix) but this meant in any kind of emergency we would have to navigate through the park In the pitch black to the entrance which was the only area with reception. There was no emergency lighting or backup generator for the most basic lighting. The caravan itself was okay, but the door didn't close properly and the light bulb in the bathroom had exposed wiring. It was pretty run down but it was only a bronze. We have complained to hoseasons about the stay as it was an awful experience. They claim not to have received any response from The caravan staff, despite everyone in our group having made a complaint. They offered £30 which we rejected but was transferred into our account regardless. We will NEVER trust the hoseasons name again and are shocked at the poor customer service from the site team and hoseasons customer services. Please heed this review, find yourself somewhere else to stay and avoid a rubbish, disappointing stay."

"Great holiday and excellent caravan. Staff on the park are friendly and will definitely stay again. Thank you."

"We enjoyed our stay in Mevagessey lodge/house was quiet and comfortable and enjoyed hot tub. Pool was ok. Facilities poor as Restaurant and bar been closed for months. Tennis court no net so couldnt play tennis and play area only got climbing frame and slide. Overall would recommend if want quiet place to stay."
Elizabeth - Nov 2023
"Re: Fowey Lodge. Would have been 10 all round apart from no dishwasher and lack of outside chairs (only 4) and more comfortable seating inside? Not a problem for us (only 3 adults) but could see it being a problem if 6 were staying."
Julie - Nov 2023
"The caravan was spotlessly clean and very well equiped. It had an added bonus of having a washer/dryer and a dish washer although we didn't use the dishwasher much. Our only fault would be they could do with a second bin for recycling within the caravan"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Megagissey house, great holiday accommodation, clean and very spacious, having the hot tub was great. Pool was also great but a bit of a pain having to book as not always someone in reception and we didnt always know what time we would be back from our dayout etc.Hoseasons did not tell us that the on site restaurant and bar was not open, the park only confirmed this two days before our stay. We are a family with three children so having a restaurant/ bar to walk to for a meal or drink in the evening was important to us when picking this holiday. We would have liked to have been informed but communication was poor regarding this particular as there is nowhere else to go in walking distance. In fact the hoseasons website is still stating that the restaurant would be open in Augustit is not! Other than that, a great break."

"Rivendale is 5 STAR + - Site is very clean & tidy good all round - Staff very helpful at all times - Swimming Pool excellent - Restaurant on site once again not open but advertised by Hoseasons as OPEN !!"

"Wonderful week in Cornwall. Sun Valley is such a lovely quiet spot. If you want a buzzing nightlife this is not for you! Mobile signal is none existent but the Wi-Fi in our lodge was great. Booking the swimming pool was a little bit of a pain but that is the only tiny moan I would have. Didnt bother us that the restaurant is currently closed. Lodge was super clean, well equipped and maintained. Would definitely book again."
Kathryn - Jun 2023
"Absolutely fantastic will definitely go back again by lodge was spotless and had everything you wanted in there perfect"
Geoffrey - Jun 2023
"The Avon was very comfortable"
Geraldine - Jun 2023
"We booked a lovely lodge and was a bonus to have towels supplied and everything you needed, down side no restaurant or anything open on site"
Sylvia - Jun 2023
"The accommodation was excellent. We liked the fact that toiletries were supplied as well as other things in the kitchen. A light shade in the main bedroom was missing by the bed but otherwise all was very good. Just a shame about on site facilities"

Cathy - Aug 2020
"Mobile home clean, spacious and modern. John the park supervisor was very helpful. Indoor pool very clean. The food we ate at the on-site restaurant was amazing. Overall really good holiday at sun valley."
Lorraine - Jul 2022
"We have just returned from a 3 night weekend break here (1st to 4th July ‘22) and we would highly recommend. We stayed in Fowey lodge and we were incredibly impressed at the quality of the accommodation and the peaceful location. The on site restaurant ‘Rebellion’ was a further surprise! We needed up eating here every day of our stay, the food is superb. We used the indoor pool (you need to book a time slot) and had it all to ourselves. John the park manager is pleasant and helpful and told us the pool was a pleasant 29°, very warm and inviting. He was also helpful in advising us of places to visit to make the most of our short stay. We went to the harbour village Charlestown (beautiful) and the lovely fishing village of Mevagissey both of which are a short drive away. We would recommend and would certainly stay again in future. Thank you for a lovely stay."
Peter - Jul 2022
"Very helpful and accommodating staff. Wonderfully quiet location. Perfect"
Tracy - Jul 2022
"Sun valley is in an excellent location for visiting many places surrounding St.Austell. The property, Fowey, is much larger than appears in the pictures, plenty of room inside, the hot tub is freshly filled for your arrival and checked twice daily. We had a great holiday."
Kirsten - Jul 2022
"The staff were very friendly and helpful. The problems were that there was no wife and having a 15 year old that's important. I also found out on the saturday before we arrived that the bar and restaurant would not be open until the Thursday night which was the night before we left"
Karen - Jul 2022
"A great site, with lots to do in the surrounding area. Not far from the beach. The lodge was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The only downside was there was no WiFi and very little phone signal, but if you want to get away from it all this is the place for you."
Julie - Jul 2022
"We as a family of 4 and 2 x dogs had a great stay at Sun Valley. The accommodation was good value and in lovely green surroundings. Location is great for getting out and about with Mevagissey our favourite place in Cornwall just a few minutes drive away. There’s a nice walk along the cycle track down to the Ship Inn and Pentewan beach. Mobile signal is only available near the entrance of the park but it was quite nice to have a bit of a digital detox. There is Wi-Fi available at the on-site restaurant."
Andrew - Jul 2022
"First time we have been to this site everything was just how we wanted it and are looking forward to our next trip and booking"
Christine - Jun 2022
"We stayed in the fowey for a week 4 adults 2 children and a 4month old baby. The house was perfect for our family's needs, it was spotless and decorated to a high standard. Our holiday was made perfect by how friendly welcoming and helpful the staff all where especially John nothing was ever to much for him, even if he couldn't pronounce fowey correctly and kept calling it foyey ? (sorry John I couldn't resist ?). The site and all amenities where spotless."
Rebecca - Jun 2022
"Lovely site for chilling and relaxing.not far from anywhere but highlight for me was the donkey sanctuary, Charlestown is a must to visit it is really just down the road 5 mins away in car. Plenty of supermarkets within 5 min of driving."
Linda - Jun 2022
"Brilliant location, ideal to get to st Austell, charlestown, mevigessey and beautiful local coastline and countryside. Lovely clean caravan with all facilities and more for a bronze caravan, exceeded expectations"
Array - Jun 2022
"Holiday and site really lovely the only disappointing thing was there were no doors out onto the veranda, you had go through the kitchen down steps walk along and up some more steps to the veranda. Apparently the only lodge on the site like it, this put a dampener on our holiday."
