Glampio Gelli Glamping Reviews

"Awesome place definitely recommend giving them a visit"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"The overall stay was great. The shepherds hut is set just out of Bala town and is an easy walking distance. The accommodation was lovely - had everything we needed for our stay. For the price, it would have been nice to have more items included to use the log burner and tea/coffee/milk. There was a bbq that the huts could use but when we went to use it there was nothing available to light the bbq and use it which was disappointing. At this time the reception was closed so couldnt ask anyone. The hut could also do with a couple of touch ups - toilet moved when sat on and the bed would benefit from some better pillows!"
Danielle - Nov 2023
"We loved the hut. Great position on site with everything you would expect. Good size for a Shepherds Hut. The veranda space overlooking site is great to have breakfast on and watch the world go by. The hot tubs are well maintained and worked well (though check your temp on arrival if you want to use that night as ours was too low so could not use first night).Everything we expected and more."
Steve - Nov 2023
"Very relaxing stay. Surroundings so tranquil and it's close to Bala lake & the town."
Helen - Jan 1970
"My partner and I came for a long weekend, we was not disappointed. The cabin was gorgeous and so comfortable, we both slept so well! The bbq hut was amazing and fully equipped with everything you need, we will be returning. The only downfall was the bugs, we had to buy fly spray because the tiny little flies were attracted to the lights, but over all it was so clean!"
Ellie - Jan 1970
"Me my partner and my 2 year old daughter had a wonderful time staying in The Branwen Lodge last weekend. The location was beautiful and we had stunning views of the sunset in the evenings. There was a fully equipped BBQ hut right beside the cabin which was very continent. The lodge itself was modern, spacious and in immaculate condition. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming from the minute we booked, we highly recommend a stay here! The perfect getaway!"
Gemma - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed our stay in the Blodwen hut. Great views over the Welsh countryside and great to be able to walk into the the local town of Bala. Great location for visit the seaside by car too, whilst being about to come back to the quiet countryside afterwards. The van facilities were great, especially given the hut size. And the staff were really helpful and friendly. Great stay overall "
James - Jan 1970

"This pod was absolutely amazing, the whole pod was spotless on arrival. The bathroom was perfect and the kitchen was fitted with everything you would need. We used the log burner and it made the pod super warm just before bed. Will definitely be looking to book again."
Amber - Jan 1970

"Im so glad we chose to stay at Glampio Gelli Glamping! Beautiful location, just a strol away from Lake Bala, the hut was delightful and the lady on reception was very welcoming and will do anything to help you. The only downside to the holiday was we was only there for 2 nights. Definitely staying for longer next time!"
Rebecca - Jan 1970
"Myself and my boyfriend had a lovely weekend in our Branwen Glamping pod. The site is so peaceful and quiet and has amazing views! It is about a 5 min walk to Bala lake which is so beautiful. Its a 5 min drive away to do paddle boarding with also a cafe there.
100% will be returning!!"
Georgia - Jan 1970

Derek - Jan 1970
"Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!"
Christopher - Nov 2024
"Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you! "
Phoebe - Nov 2024
"It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!"
Andrew - Nov 2024
"Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!"
Simon - Nov 2024
"Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend. "
Brooke - Nov 2024
"Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x"
Libby - Nov 2024
"Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill. "
James - Nov 2024
"We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people."
Annemieke - Nov 2024
"The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "
Carol - Nov 2024
"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "
Inderjit - Nov 2024
"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "
Richard - Nov 2024
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Sharon and Robert were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and secure for our dog Archie. The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. We felt our batteries had certainly been recharged during our week and we enjoyed our relaxing break! "
Denise - Nov 2024
"Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend "
Sharon - Nov 2024
