About Oak Farm Lodges

With an enviable location in the midst of the Waveney Valley these stylish lodges will appeal to both families and couples searching for a peaceful holiday base in the Norfolk area.  You will have the best of both worlds with a rural location and yet within easy reach of the city of Norwich with an array of shops, cafes and restaurants. The Norfolk Broads are also ideal for days out and exploring.

The Kingfisher Lodge makes a stylish holiday choice.  The decor is of a very high standard and there are plenty of mod cons to make your stay a real home from home.  From a top of the range flatscreen tv with freeview to a well equipped kitchen everything has been designed with your comfort and convenience in mind.

Sleeping up to 6 adults the Kingfisher Lodge is spacious and well laid out with one double and one twin bedroom.  Both rooms enjoy a private ensuite bathroom.  There is additional sleeping for two in the lounge area.  Outside the lodge the luxury continues with decking, garden furniture and a private outdoor hot tub.  We think this lodge makes a perfect holiday choice all year round thanks to the central heating and double glazing.

Close by there are some great days out including Banham Zoo less than 6 miles from the lodges and Melsop Farm Park just 15 miles away.  Both of these attractions are ideal for families with children but will also appeal to couples.

Oak Farm Lodges Reviews

"Clean and warm hottub excellent"
Lloyd - Nov 2024
"Absolutely stunning"
Terry - Oct 2024
"Dishwasher please otherwise everything was great especially the hot tub."
Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"Thoroughly enjoyed our break and will return, just what we needed, the lodge had everything you could ask for and the hot tub was checked daily.Great place for walks, our dog came back very tired ???? We came back very relaxed. Its a great place with only 3 lodges so not commercialised like other destinations this made it very peaceful and private if you prefer less hustle and bustle.Great hosts who would help if you needed them but otherwise invisible.Perfect in every way."
David - Sep 2024
"We stayed for a long weekend, perfect !"
Rebecca - Sep 2024
"Really nice accommodation in great location. A few little bits would make it really amazing, particularly in need of blackout blinds in the bedrooms to help with sleeping babies. It would also be good if you could book multiple highchairs (only had the option to book 1) and a later checkout, 9am is strangely early (although, luckily for us as it wasn't booked out the next night the host kindly let us stay a few more hours for free!)Overall, really good place to stay."
Lauren - Jun 2024
"Second visit for us and it did not disappoint. Amy and Mark were wonderful hosts and very helpful. Lodge was as nice as I remembered, my only recommendation would be to pop some pictures on the wall to give the lodge that home from home feeling. It is quite echoey. Beautiful surroundings, nothing nicer than sitting on the decking looking at the fields and hearing the birds. We will be back again soon :)"
Verified Guest - May 2024
"Outstanding value for money. Brilliant accommodation, wonderfully secluded and great views.Lots of space in and out, can do as much or as little as you want to.Wonderful place to chill out."
Dave - Apr 2024
"Lovely location and friendly owners. beautiful spot , very comfy lodge. Fantastic to get away from it all - saw lots of different birds and hares."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Beautiful Lodge. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, spacious. We couldn't fault it all."
Marina - Feb 2024
"This was our 2nd stay in kingfisher Lodge and we enjoyed it just as much as the 1st time. The only complaint this time is you have to be out of the accommodation at 9am which we felt was a little early. If I could pass on some advice it would be too change the twin beds to beds that could be used as a double when the lodge is being used by 2 couples and personally I would prefer a dishwasher instead of a washing machine."
Jay - Jan 2024
"Second visit and did not dissapoint - the hot tub could have been hotter in our view but guess H&S and was set by manufactures and we could not turn up like the one in the first lodge we stayed but not put us off we have booked for September 2024"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"We had a lovely weeks break in mid November. Good, Clean accommodation with well equipped kitchen. The Jacuzzi was the icing on the cake."
Mark Alfred - Nov 2023
"Very enjoyable break in a peacefull location. Near to Bressingham Steam Musuem and Banham Zoo.Only minor point- kitchen knives and frying pan needed replacing."
Marilyn - Nov 2023
"This was our 2nd time staying here and was lovely as before. The staff on site are so helpful and always in hand for any help. We came in a large group over the 2 lodges and they just absolutely adored the open space and playing in the fields all day with games we brought and they very much loved being able to see the horses everyday. Will definitely return."
Natalie - Jun 2023
"A fantastic holiday had by all, thank you"
Adele - Aug 2020
"Lovely weekend break."
Clare - Jul 2020
"Ideal for a get away from it all break. Clean comfortable and secluded."
David - Mar 2020
"Excellent from start to finish."
Mark - Mar 2020
"Lovely relaxing break in a spacious and well presented lodge. The hot tub was appreciated, particularly as the weather wasn't great. Many thanks to the Farmer who allowed us use of a secure paddock which my scaredy dog could run around in without a muzzle!"
Karen - Feb 2020

"Perfect family holiday location. We are a family of five; children 10, 9 and 5. Lodge is amazing and the setting is beautiful. We loved the countryside walks, visiting the horses or simply relaxing in the hot tub. Hosts couldn't have done more. We will definitely return."
Dan - Jun 2022
"Beautiful cottage in fabulous surroundings, with the gorgeous town of Diss a few mins away. Perfect family holiday . Cottage clean and well equipped with everything you need, including a washing machine. Theres even a washing line too outside the cottage, We took our daughter and 3 year old grandson and had the very best time. Great for the little one to run around, and all fenced off so no escaping possible! We saw birds, and bunnies and a little deer, very exciting for little ones. Fabulous hot tub, which was checked every day by owner. Owner was friendly, welcoming, helpful, and we will definitley be going back soon"
Ann - Jun 2022
"We had a cracking weekend at skylark lodge. It was great value for money Lovely and clean . The views where beautiful,Amy was really helpful and friendly too , we will definitely be back ?"
Katrina - Jun 2022
"This is a wonderful lodge in a wonderful quiet location. Very friendly welcome. Will definately return to Kingfisher Lodge"
Michael - May 2022
"We would like to say we were a bit let down by the cleaning of the lodge when we arrived the cooker and kitchen cupboards and drawers hadn’t been clean."
Debra - May 2022
"Great place to stay."
Liam - Apr 2022
"Spent Easter weekend here with my hubby, son and pooch. We loved it, the surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful. Just a minor thing, hot tub was fantastic but didn't seem to be as hot as we would have liked. Didn't ruin our break and we will be returning"
Cindy - Apr 2022
"We had a wonderful 4 night break - the lodge was even better than expected. Clean, well equipped and spacious. The owner is so lovely too - the hot tub was an excellent temp, not too hot. So much to do near by and the cabin was totally fenced so safe for our kids (and dog but we decided not to bring him with us in the end.) We will definitely return again."
Hayley - Apr 2022
"Located on a beautiful farm, with lovely views. The lodge itself was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Such a bonus having a hot tub. Felt very relaxed, even with three little girls with us! We had a minor problem which was fixed really quickly. It was our first booking at oak farm lodges, but we’d definitely come again."
Rebecca - Mar 2022
"Really lovely place very quiet and picturesque. The lodge was lovely really good size and well equipped, one of the sofas could do with renewing as very uncomfortable to sit on. Veranda was great but could do with wire or netting around the bottom to keep very small dogs from getting through the railings. Overall a lovely place and good value for money."
Kim - Mar 2022
"What a gem of a place. We had the most blissful stay. Will certainly be back."
Sarah - Feb 2022
"Beautiful lodge run by lovely people. Perfect for the stay we was looking for."

Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX

This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 15 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.

Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 27 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
