Rudyard Lake Lodges Reviews

"First off the lodge is in the most amazing location, particularly if you have a dog, we found a new walk to explore directly from the lodge every day. We also had a day at Alton towers which was only 30mins away. Bakewell and Buxton around 45mins. Be prepared if there is wet weather the road up to the lodge does get muddy. Plenty of cafes and a pub within walking distance. The enclosed garden was also appreciated with having a dog. The lodge itself has bags of potential but we found elements of the maintenance a bit lacking (hot tub cover/sofas/crockery/bathrooms) in some areas but then other areas (hot tub/tv/wi fi) were super modern. Overall a lovely stay in a peaceful location"

"Comfortable. Lovely setting"
Verified Guest - Sep 2024
"A well maintained, clean and tidy lodge with lots of facilities. We all enjoyed the hot tub and sitting outside in the covered area listening to all the birds nearby."
Rachael - Jun 2024
"A lovely lodge in a lovely setting. We loved watching all the different types of birds that came to the bird feeder in the garden. It was very clean and the kitchen had everything you would need. We especially appreciated that everyone was given 3 towels plus hand towels for each shower room. My only note would be it would have been nice to have had in shower non slip mats considering one member of our party is 86 yrs but we managed fine with one of the many towels available."
Mairyn - Apr 2024
"My holiday was a disappointment i will never stay in the cabin again."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"One bed reportedly a little lumpy but mine was perfect and great nights rest. Some of the dishes a little sticky not an issue really as brilliant access to dishwasher and tablets may just benefit from a quick check over previous guests possibly handwashing and putting back."

"Had a wonderful weekend with our family in Heronsview this Feb, this is our second time and we have rebooked again for next February. The lodge is a wonderful authentic Norwegian lodge, lovely and cosy in the winter. The new hot tub is the feature it sits 6 people easily so there is plenty of room and the music and lights make it extra special. We loved the fairy lights that come on after dark , the ambience is wonderful. The lodge is dog friendly but we didnt bring ours this year , the garden is long and secure for small, medium dogs , there is a lovely meadow in front of the lodge that our 2 will enjoy next year. Matt and Mark the owners are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, they are always there at the end of the phone if needed. All in all we had an amazing family weekend and cant wait for our next visit"
Theresa - Mar 2024
"Meadow view lodge was well equipped for everything for our girls weekend away, the hottub is lovely and the views are fantastic. Spotlessly clean and loads off welcome little touches ( sweets, biscuits and wine ).Already looking for next year."

"Comfortable and well appointed owner left little extras a nice touch would definitely go back"
Tom - Nov 2023
"Lovely lodge with hot tub within beautiful surroundings. The lodge itself was well equipped and only a short walk to Rudyard Lake. This is our 3rd time staying and we have enjoyed our holidays here. While staying here we have visited Alton Towers and also Drayton Manor (ThomasLand)."

"THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE BEEN HERE. IN TWO DIFFERENT LODGES
IT IS REALLY GOOD FOR US AS WE HAVE GOT THE DOG AND THE FIELD IS A GREAT PLUS FOR US AS HE GOES RUNNING IN IT EVERY DAY WITH HIS BALL.
ITS NICE TO GET AWAY FROM EVERYTHING SOMETIMES AND JUST CHILL OUT.
WIFI IS GOOD UP HERE TOO.
A SHORT WALK DOWN TO RUDYARD LAKE
THERE IS A SHOP ON THE CARAVAN SITE NEAR TO
TAKE AWAY IN LEEK DELIVER TO THE LODGES"

Jodie - Sep 2019
"Go stay there, but the value is apparent the more people stay. Amazing place and beautiful surroundings.x"
Paul - Aug 2019
"we d stayed at heronsview before so knew the site which is lovely. there are no photos of watersview so we took a chance as some reviews said it needed updating. We were pleasantly surprised though and relieved that it was ok.we enjoyed staying there.
The lodges are similar inside with lots of wood and modern bathrooms and kitchen however there is no wifi, the fire inside was broken and waiting for repair and the extractor above the cooker didn't work. The decking could do with staining.

Some tips would include, take a hair dryer and extra towels for the hot tub."
Marisa - Jul 2019
"Amazing will book again"
Kathy - Apr 2019
"Perfection... dam and Elaine really go the extra mile to make everything wonderful"

"Very relaxing as there is so much to see and do, only used the car once all week."
Lesley - Sep 2018
"Great lodge highly recommended"
Carole - Jun 2018
"Really fantastic. Excellent facilities... although the floor in the bathrooms felt a little spongy/unsafe. Will definitely be back."
Jennifer - May 2018
"Great lodge - everything we needed, clean and very well equipped. Thoughtful touches on arrival such as wine, sweets and treats for the dog. Hot tub was sparkling clean and a fabulous place to chill out in the evenings."
Alison - May 2018
"Lovely lodge and stunning surroundings, however for the 5 days we were there there was building work being done on the other lodges. There was a lot of people and vans around doing work which was off putting and we were not forewarned about this! Also the Hottub did not maintain its temperature very well therefore would get cold after a while, the staff were very friendly and said we could contact them if this happened however by the time we got into the hottub at night it would be too late for this. The lodge itself was cosy and comfortable, it was just a shame about all the noise! When initially phoning the contact number provided from Hoseasons with a few queries the man I spoke to was very rude and essentially said "well what do you want me to do about it" and said that he didn't know why he's number was listed as he didn't really do much with it. The lady who greeted us when we got there was very friendly and approachable, and she text us the last of the directions to prevent us getting lost which was helpful. They also allowed us to check into the lodge a few hours earlier."
Elisha - Mar 2018
"Wonderful place..so quiet..so comfortable and cosy..everything you needed"
Alison - Mar 2018

Sally - Aug 2022
"Lovely and relaxing. Accommodation clean tidy and provides everything you could need. Home from home. Nice little touches as well."
Russell - Jul 2022
"A beautiful lodge. Covered over hot tub and seating area so can still be used if it rains. The owners go above and beyond to make sure the lodge has everything you need for a lovely break."
Dawn - Jun 2022
"We've just returned from a wonderful 3-night stay at Rudyard Lake Lodges (we stayed at Heronsview). The location is gorgeous, and there is so much to do if you want an action-packed break, but you can also have a brilliantly relaxing time too. In a quiet and serene setting, it's a very short walk to Rudyard Lake and all the amenities there and a 5-minute drive from Leek. We were surprised, but delighted, when we received a text 4 hours before our official check-in time to let us know that the lodge was ready and we were welcome to arrive whenever was best for us. The owner was fantastic - really friendly and helpful, with great tips on places to visit too. The goats in the field opposite were the icing on the cake!"
Vicki - Jun 2022
"We loved our stay."
Kirsty - May 2022
"Well equipped lodge with lovely owners. Lots of extras to make your stay comfortable. Towels, robes for the hot tub, toiletries etc. Great location with lovely walks."
