Wyke Lodges Reviews

"Would recommend to all , hopefully stay again soon"
Neil - Nov 2024
"Brilliant, what more can we say!"
Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"Fantastic, only a few small bits, like cobwebs on lightshades and a bulb missing. No freezer but we made do."
Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"We had everything we needed in Travellers Rest. It was clean, comfortable and homely, with a fantastic amount of space for our little family of 3 and a dog. And the hot tub was AMAZING."
Yasmine - Oct 2024
"Brilliant lodge it was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Comfortable and beds and sofa and lots of space. Hot tub was great. Gorgeous views of the area and very peaceful"
Verified Guest - Sep 2024
"There was a light bulb missing in the dining room light and cobwebs on the high light but otherwise the accommodation was clean and tidy with everything you needed. There didnt appear to be any facilities on sight but staff were very helpful and due to being in a self catering lodge did not need any other facilities on sight."
Verified Guest - Sep 2024
"All amazing. We loved our break. Beautiful lodges and lots of places to visit close by."
Faye - Aug 2024
"Gorgeous lodge to a high standard."
Michelle - Aug 2024
"The lodge was fantastic.Very modern and very clean. The hosts were very friendly and happy to offer assistance or guidance. I think it's been mentioned before, but don't go by the pictures RE the bed set up. I thought we had a double and 2 singles, but it was 2 doubles. Not a problem for us but worth a mention."
Jonathan - Aug 2024
"We stayed in lodge number 3, which was called Captain Cook. for 5 nights in July. Denise and Jed made us feel so welcome on arrival and the lodge was beautiful and very well appointed with everything you need. The hot tub was gorgeous with an amazing view of Roseberry Topping. We were very lucky with the weather as it was sunny the whole time. From Wyke Lodges we went to Whitby, Saltburn and Staithes (all a short drive away) and walked along the Guisborough forest trail along the disused railway to a nice cafe for brunch. The lodge site is lovely and the surrounding area is beautiful with so much to explore and we would love to return one day."
Jenni Robinson - Jul 2024
"Excellent accommodation already booked for next year"
Evonne - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed staying at this lodge nice and peaceful location. Would recommend and stay here again. Owners were lovely on arrival very friendly ans made to feel welcome"
Verified Guest - Jul 2024
"Had a lovely stay at lodge would recommend to all if looking for calm and beautiful surroundings"
Verified Guest - May 2024
"I am giving this a poor review as both my partner returned from a weekend break here and have both come out covered head to toe in rash. Im not sure whether this is from the hot tub and if this was poorly maintained? Overall the cabin is nice and in a lovely location. We had a lovely stay, the only downfall was the rash we both came home with."
Verified Guest - May 2024
"Lovely relaxing break. Would definitely come back. Great base, beautiful lodge."
Verified Guest - May 2024
"Great location & pod"
Verified Guest - May 2024
"A beautiful site with beautiful views. Although just off a main road, there is no noise from the road. The lodges are beautifully decorated and everything is thought of towels, dog bowls and even salt and pepper. We visitred with 2 children and a dog and everyone had a lovely time, we have recommended to many friends already"
Victoria - May 2024
"Great location, perfect for exploring"
Abby - Apr 2024
"The sanctuary pods were lovely and great for our two dogs too."
Melanie - Apr 2024
"Absolutely fantastic Lodges perfect location & beautiful surroundings. Loads to do would 100% go back. Lovely staff who would do anything to make sure our stay was fabulous ????. Wifi was brilliant streamed films on our firestick no buffering at all the whole week. Hot tub was excellent we all loved it. Especially our 2 dogs"
Andrew & Katrina - Mar 2024
"Lovely relaxing 3 night stay in a lodge with hot tub."
John - Mar 2024
"Very peaceful site. Excellent lodge, well equipped and good quality fittings. Spotlessly clean with a beautiful view. Great hot tub."
Gail - Mar 2024
"4 night stay. Excellent lodge and great facilities. Hosts were perfect. Close to the beach as well. Really enjoyed our short stay and will be back! Thank you!"
Simon - Mar 2024
"Fantastic break in the sanctuary pods, we arrived late and dark but were still greeted warmly by Matty who suggested places to go via foot in the morning which we did and it was a great walk. We will be going back."

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Wyke Lodges. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 25 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 25 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 27 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
Yorkshire Lavender - YO60 6PB
about 28 Miles
Yorkshire Lavender is an amazing award winning attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of York, a Café, Plant Nursery and Lavender Gardens. The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip. The onsite shops sells Lavender products such as bath and body treats, skincare, medicine and herbal remedies.
Castle Howard - YO60 7DA
about 29 Miles
Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 29 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 32 Miles
If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.
Betton Farm Visitor Centre - TF9 3PS
about 32 Miles
Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.
Sea Life Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 32 Miles
Located in the Scalby Mills area of Scarborough this makes a fun family day out for those who are interested in marine life. The fantastic ocean tank is well worth seeing - it's been transformed into a Turtle Reef and you can see an amazing array of colourful reef fish and coral. You may also catch a glimpse of the tropical sharks and turtles. Offering good value for money this is a day out with a difference and an all weather attraction.
Peasholm Park - YO12 6QQ

This attraction is ideal for sunny days as the beautiful park is ideal for wandering out and taking in the scenery.  You can hire boats including rowing boats and canoes to enjoy the views from the water.  The pedalos with the dragon heads are always a popular choice too. Look out for special events including the Battle of Peasholm Park Naval Battle which has been described as a "must see".  You can also take a ride on the North Bay Railway which will delight children.

This all weather attraction caters for toddlers and children up to 12 years old with a huge array of climbing equipment, ball pools, slides, chutes and adventure areas. Adults can relax and enjoy a coffee and a snack while the kids are having fun.  The site also has a large and rather impressive outdoor area with pet zone and pedal track with Go karts. Thanks to the Archaeologists from York Archaeological Trust the amazing houses, workshops and backyards of the Viking-Age city of Jorvik are on display and give a clear insight to the way of life all those years ago.  The site aims to offer an interactive experience with the state of the art time capsule and the blacksmith's furnace being the top attractions.

about 39 Miles
Dig is a unique and somewhat educational attraction in York offering children the opportunity to enjoy excavation, discovery, and digging. Within the site is a discovery centre, several pits filled with Roman and Medieval ruins and a science lab where children can take part in exciting experiments. Staff are on hand at all times to help the children and to ensure they get the most from the experience. The attraction can get busy during school holidays and pre booking is recommended.
