Sandy Park Reviews

"Fantastic rooms and amenities"
Jonathan - Apr 2024
"The location and cabin were lovely. Its a great base for exploring the local area, which is beautiful. The cabin is well stocked with everything you might need, and it was lovely and warm in April. The bed is snug, but you can see what you're getting from the pictures, and it was fine for the two of us. For us, there was only one fly in the ointment and that is the hot tub. It is log fired and they do set it up for you free of charge however if you want to use it more than once you will have to pay for additional wood. In summer one log burner set up might keep it warm for repeated uses through the day or night. In spring youre constantly chucking logs on it and tending to the fire. Not a huge issue however the hot tub was the reason I booked and payed more for this cabin over others on the website and I feel additional costs associated should have been stated explicitly. The costs weren't huge or unreasonable, just a hidden extra and I'm not keen on hidden extras. Mark was very helpful and friendly when he came to show us to the cabin and how to use the hot tub. Our stay was very pleasant overall."
Michelle - Apr 2024
"Would recommend this weekend away to anyone"
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"The lodge was perfect had everything we needed. Clean and tidy. Was over the moon with the lodge."
Amanda - Apr 2024
"Mark and Michele are amazing hosts. I stayed in the Stable Cottage which on arrival was immaculate and the hot tub at 39 degrees - perfect. The beach is a very short walk away, the ponies on site were a bonus. Security is covered well. Plenty to do for all ages within short journey time. Best of all it was so peaceful and relaxing. I forgot one will definitely be returning."
Alan - Mar 2024
"The Seagull is the largest of the pods at Sandy Park. Its only small but has everything you need for a romantic stay. The highlight was the hot tub set in its own private area."
Graham - Mar 2024
"Absolutely lovely place everything you need, even provided with slippers, towelling robe and a bottle of Prosecco. Warm, cosy and perfect for what I wanted for a birthday weeknd away with the fella"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Mike & Michelle were absolutely FANTASTIC! They went above and beyond for us and ensured we had the best time. Our hot tub was nice and warm on arrival, our room was warm and spotlessly tidy. The facilities are great, everything you need for a good break. The location was perfect, we had a lovely stroll along the beach and around Crimdon Dene Natural Reserve. We are definitely coming back to stay in the Boat house, we had a lovely weekend and did not want to come back home. Definitely recommend to everyone whos looking to book, dont hesitate! Thank you both for ensuring we felt welcomed and happy!"
Ellie - Feb 2024
"Me and my partner had a lovely 2 night weekend stay in February- owners were located on site and couldnt be any more accommodating. Highly recommend and most likely will be returning!"
Karlie - Feb 2024
"lovely stay, nice spot on the beach front"
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Beautiful and quiet location. The owners were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. The cottage was warm and clean, with a comfortable sofa and beds. My only note, and this didn't detract at all from our stay, it is not carpeted and so, in the colder weather, needs a rug on the bedroom floor."
Sarah - Jan 2024
"I had one of the best staycations here! The owners are lovely and make sure your visit is the most enjoyable by making sure the hot tub is ready upon arrival. Its a 3 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute drive to nearest town which is ideal. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Loved our time thank you for an amazing new year. Beautiful setting, hot tub was the best and the pod was outstanding."
Rachael - Jan 2024
"We had a lovely break at Sandy Parks. Mark and Michelle were great hosts and we would definitely return and recommend to our friends and family"
Sean - Jan 2024
"Hidden gem a stones throw away from the beach, hosts are warm, friendly and welcoming. Beautifully peaceful spot with great views."
Christopher - Nov 2023
"The stay at Sandy Bay, Crimdon, was brilliant, Michelle and Mark, the owners, some excellent hosts, everything clean, in standards, the beach close, we are waiting to come for the Pod, next time."

Dawn - Jan 1970
"Perfect condition and hosts accepted feedback from us based on very small issues such as the step up to the tub."
Nicola - Jan 1970
"Beautiful getaway. Loved the hot tub and the actual hut was a good size."
Fiona - Jan 1970
"Same as above great location , peace and quiet"
Alexander - Jan 1970
"The hosts were excellent when we kept loosing the WiFi connection, which the kids couldn't live without! Could have done with a couple of additional kitchen utensils - a pair of scissors & a draining spoon for poached eggs but managed without. The only thing I could criticise is that there was no wardrobe (there is room for one) I hated having to live out of my suitcase for the week."
Alison - Jan 1970
"The boat house had everything we needed. It was cosy and clean with little extras we werent expecting, tea, coffee, wine and chocolate! The bed was very comfortable, we were well rested at the end of our stay."
Angela - Jan 1970
"Exactly what we needed for a restful stay in beautifully decorated and equipped accommodation- it felt as if alot of thought had been put into making our stay so enjoyable"
Christina - Jan 1970
"Beach hut has the best views of the beach!"
Joyce - Jan 1970
"Amazing time cannot wait to go back next year."
Alan - Jan 1970
"This is a great place to stay, with the pods having everything you need as well as being almost on the beach. The owners were really helpful, ensuring we had a hot tub every evening. A lovely couple who are very accommodating with all you need for a wonderful holiday. Highly recommended"
Stewart - Jan 1970

Lucy - Jul 2022
"Amazing weekend ! 100% will be back"
Jodie - Jul 2022
"Lovely area peaceful the owners couldn’t do enough for you the pods are lovely and the hot tub"
Nicola - Jun 2022
"We had a lovely relaxing break. It should be known you have to purchase more logs in order to use the hot tub before arrival."
Emily - Jun 2022
"We had an amazing stay here!!! Literally the surrounding the place the people were just amazing!!! I will definitely come back… only thing would be, for the lodge with the dog is maybe a little fence around so when your in the hot tub the dog can be out with you but other than that!!! It’s was incredible, I can’t wait to see this place again for a quiet holiday by the beach, super friendly, me and my girlfriend love it and of course little lady loved it to ??"
Jessica - Jun 2022
"Boat house, is Ideally located right on the Beach just a 2 minutes walk. Suitable for 2 people who want a Relaxing Break Away with Easy to use Log Burning Hot Tub which was cleaned Every Morning while we were there. Also comes with picnic Bench and BBQ Which is all in your own private Area. Would suggest Reading previous Reviews which we did as there is no Wardrobe space or cooker but you do get microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and little Hot Plate. Would Thoroughly recommend for a Couples Break Away. Hopefully we will be Returning Back Next Year."
Gary - Jun 2022
"I would highly recommend this destination. Mark and Michelle are fantastic hosts and couldn't have been more helpful. The lodge was beautifully presented and the welcoming bottle of prosecco was much appreciated. Ideal for dogs. Great hot tub. We will be returning. John & Lisa, Manchester."
John - Jun 2022
"Absolutely beautiful! Would definitely visit again - super close to the beach, plenty of shops and restaurants close by too"
Sam - Jun 2022
"Me and my husband stayed at this wonderful accommodation for 2 nights. The host Michelle was so lovely. Very friendly welcome. The room itself was immaculate, spacious and very luxurious. The hot tub was set up great, temperature was spot on. We used the log fire that was included. On day two before we got up the hot tub was reset up for us. The views were spectacular! We will definitely be returning here in the very near future."
Samantha - Jun 2022
"Absolutely stunning. 10/10 would recommend and absolutely would go back. Set in a beautiful location right by the beach, so peaceful too. The hosts were very friendly and happy to help if we needed it."
Abi - May 2022
"Had a fab few days there . . 2mins from beautiful beach. Great facilities eg BBQ, garden furniture and fab hot tub. Can't wait to go back again ???"
Karen - May 2022
"Great location and facilities. Will definitely be back."
Andrew - Apr 2022
"We had a fabulous short break at the boat house! Would definitely recommend! Location right on the beach which makes a lovely walk. Distance to pubs and restaurants are a taxi or a drive a way. Wood burning hot tub was beautiful and mark & Michelle were nothing but helpful and were just a text away if we needed anything"
Ruby - Apr 2022
"Just had 2 nights away as a couple with my dog. The place is amazing and absolutely spotless, perfe t size and has everything you could possibly need. Its totally peaceful and less than a 5 minute walk to a fantastic clean beach. The log fire hot tub was gorgeous and we used it every night, the hosts couldn't have been any better, friendly and helpful when needed but kept put the way to give you space and privacy the rest of the time. Treats for the dog was left and a bottle of sparkling fizz for the adults. Lots of retail parks, beaches, shops, nature reserve, restaurant and marina all within 10 minite drive. We will definitely be back"

Attractions Near Sandy Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Sandy Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP
about 33 Miles
This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 34 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 39 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 39 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
