Blackwell Lodges has its own bar and restaurant and an adventure playground for the children, so it is ideal for both couples and families. Chapters Restaurant, at the foot of the North Yorkshire Moors, serves classic dishes in the restaurant for formal dining with a more laid back experience in the brasserie.

The Roseberry Lodge is superbly equipped and utterly contemporary. It sleeps six people and has a master bedroom with ensuite shower. The kitchen and lounge are open plan and attention has been paid to every detail to ensure that this lodge is stylish, spacious and designed to the very highest standard.

Darlington and Thirsk are both within easy reach of Blackwell Lodges. Thirsk is a pretty market town with some charming shops, an excellent market – open on Mondays and Saturdays – an art gallery and ‘The World of James Herriot’. Blackwell Lodges Reviews

"When sitting out the back of the lodge the only sound was naturs"
Tony - May 2024
"Fab. Great cabin, clean and excellent maintenance"
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"The lodge was clean ,very spacious with ample storage space ,beds were comfy and plenty of towels . Good variety of utensils and crockery . Wi-fi was good . In my opinion it couldve benefited with a clothes line or airer and just had a washing machine instead of a combined washer/dryer as the dryer was too complicated to use so gave up on it . Hot tub was private and liked the fact that you didnt have to step up into it"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Lovely clean, fully stocked with essentials, beautiful place"
Vicky - Apr 2023
"The lodge is amazing. So clean. Well stocked. Hot tub area is private and a sun trap. Touches such as the robes, hand wash and plenty of loo roll were appreciated. The bedrooms were gorgeous. The game of thrones fleece on the bed and the chandelier added to the luxury. Kitchen was well stocked. Large fridge freezer. Everything was quality."
Hazel - Apr 2022
"Always clean and tidy and a great location which is why we keep coming back. Only problem we have found over the years is the wine both in the restaurant and in the cabin is not very good."
Harry - Apr 2022
"Outstanding log cabin and very clean throughout. One of the best in the Autograph range. Highly recommended."
Mark - Jan 2022
"Excellent . . Highly recommended. Can not fault anything. One of the best lodges I have stayed in, so cozy. Can't wait to go back again ."
Helen - Dec 2021
"The pictures really don't do this lodge justice! A truly unique American style lodge with the little touches to really show the added quality. And the Thai restaurant on site is to die for!"
Jay - Dec 2021
"Absolutely FANTASTIC! Booked quite last minute for New Year and was best decision I made all year! Lodge was fab, pub lovely on the one night we could use it (before lockdown) area beautiful (made even more so by the snow we got!). Was magical and will definitely be back!"
Victoria - Jan 2021
"On arrival the girl in the pub wasn't really bothered about the fact our key wasn't ready on time and seemed to think it was funny the restaurant was fully booked all week. Not great as the on site restaurant was a main reason for booking."
Brian - Aug 2020
"Although expensive, this was a treat - Im not sure all of my friends would pay the rate that we did."
Sam - Aug 2020
"Lovely lodge, well equipped, nice hot tub"
Sandra - Jul 2020

Andrew - Jul 2020
"Lovely well maintained lodge"
Jackie - Jul 2020
"The only thing I could say about the last stay was the lock on the main entrance door, it was quite difficult to open or close. You had to be quite rough with it which makes you feel it would break. Overall highly recommend this lodge and Ill definitely be back."
Samantha - Feb 2020
"My husband and I along with our 4 month old baby stayed here last week. The lodges themselves are absolutely gorgeous! Very luxury and clean, with all facilities you need, couldn't ask for much more! The only improvement would be the check in process as this is via the pub, and the staff were not very 'enthusiastic' - other than that cannot fault the place. The food at Blackwell lodge was 'ok'. Overall loved our holiday! Would return :)"
Rebecca - Feb 2020
"Our lodge was amazing - it was really clean and all of the facilities were brilliant. There is everything there that you could need and the equipment and furnishing are of a very high standard. It's so comfy and relaxing. We have enjoyed both of our stays here and we can't wait to go back again!"

The kids played out on the green space and enjoyed seeing the rabbits hopping around. The pub onsite serves gorgeous Thai food aswell!"
