This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North
Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families. Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit. The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family. The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower. For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel. Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too. If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire. Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour. You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals. Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.

Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens - YO19 6HP

A day trip to Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens is the perfect way to relax with several gardens to explore in the grounds of a historic farmhouse. Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out. It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys. Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo. Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed. A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.
