"Already recommended to all my friends,"

"The cottage is a comfortable and clean accommodation ; but it was not worth the current inflated prices ."
Andrew - Jul 2021
"Great spot, but honestly, changing bookings so close to the date was a bit frustrating."

Emma - Feb 2019
"Really loved our stay, would come back again."
Emma - Feb 2019
"We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage! The place is stunning and really feels cosy, with charming decor and thoughtful little touches that make it feel like a home away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked, which was great, so we didnt need anything extra. Only slight gripe is the towels - we were a family of three and only had two big ones, which was a bit of a pain, especially since we didnt bring any for the hot tub. Also, there was an issue with the hot tub leaking water, which we werent told about, so we couldnt use it on day three until it was sorted. Still, overall a lovely spot!"
Ellie - Nov 2018
"Absolutely loved every bit"
Harriet - Aug 2018
"Charming spot, we loved every minute here."
Emma - Apr 2018
"Great spot for a family getaway, loved the modern feel and cleanliness!"
Emma - May 2017
"The cottage is super comfy and warm, really well set up. We loved the close proximity to the SWP link and the stunning coastal views. Tintagel was just a short walk away, brilliant stay!"
Martin - Feb 2017
"Absolutely loved it, didnt want it to finish!"
Emma - Oct 2016
"Really enjoy coming here, always friendly staff!"
Emma - Sep 2016
"The rooms are spacious and really airyand the beds are super comfy. The boiler is a bit noisyand there are some wall cracks, though."

Andrew - Jan 1970
"Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!"
Emma - Apr 2025
"Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you! "
Phoebe - Apr 2025
"It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!"
Andrew - Apr 2025
"The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "
Carol - Apr 2025
"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "
Inderjit - Apr 2025
"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "
Richard - Apr 2025
"Lovely friendly owners. Couldnt do enough when the power went down due to the storm. Very well equipped and clean. Very warm cottage. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed outside space and us the hot tub!"
Penny - Apr 2025
"Perfect venue for a quiet break away. Sharon and Robert have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Although this was our second visit it definitely will not be our last."
Georgina - Apr 2025
"Beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet location. Ideal to escape and relax. Hot tub was amazing and the cottage was immaculate with everything you needed. Lots of walks close by and within the village reach. Had such a wonderful time. Couldnt recommend enough."
Sarah - Apr 2025
"A beautiful holiday home set in a lovely rural location. The slated courtyard was perfect and the hot-tub added to the luxury of the property. Great for country walks."
Amanda - Apr 2025
"Fantastic clean place, nice and quiet, hosts are lovely and helpful, great place for couples, the hot tub is amazing, nice enclosed garden for pets."
JANET - Apr 2025
"wanted a dog walking break, absolutely perfect. quality accommodation, pubs and restaurants a 10 minute walk away, miles of fields and off road walks, the dog would not get in the car to come home."
Malcolm - Apr 2025
"Very nice cottage. Ideal for a quiet break if you don't mind aeroplanes (at night mostly) as its quite near to Stanstead airport. Hot tub is lovely!"
Mary - Apr 2025
"Little Gem - Beautiful Cottage with everything you need, you dont need to bring anything. I overloaded the car not realising how well equiped the whole cottage is. Welcome pack has all information you need to know about the cottage and menus which was very well thought out. Thankyou for the little extras for our dogs and us. Owners, Sharon and Robert very quick to respond if you need to ask anything. K9's loved it - enclosed garden a bonus. Hot tub amazing. Thanks for the lovely break. "
Jan - Apr 2025
"Just returned from a lovely weeks stay at Goddards Mead. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hosts are very warm and welcoming and despite being on a working farm it felt like a little tranquil haven."
Anna - Apr 2025
