Fingle Glen Lodges Reviews

"Overall, we had a decent stay. The lodge was really spacious and kept tidy, which was great for our little getaway. The staff at the bar were lovely, making us feel welcome. The food was top-notch too! Just a shame about some repairs needed and the fishing not being as expected. Still, we enjoyed it!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"Honestly, the chair was pretty disappointing since it seemed like part of a set I couldnt see elsewhere. Leaning on the arm was impossible without it collapsing. The cleaner was called in to deal with a filthy oven, which was really grim and the shelves didnt even fit! On the plus side, the bed was comfy, so at least that was nice."
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"The lodge feels very worn out, with quite a few broken or missing parts. Definitely needs a refresh soon."
Sarah Jennings - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed it, felt very at ease throughout the experience."
Emma - Aug 2024
"Our Fingle Glen Lodges review: The site was honestly a letdown and the property was full of issues. Wed need a whole book just to list everything thats wrong!"
Jamie - May 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The location is stunning and although the on-site amenities are few, everything else was quite comfortable. The hot tub was a real highlight!"
Emily Carter - Feb 2024
"The lodge felt really run down and hot and the grounds looked like a building site. Honestly, we wont be returning anytime soon."
Emma Carter - Feb 2024
"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, it was quite disappointing. When we arrived, the place was freezing and it seemed like the heating hadnt been turned on, even though the weather was icy outside. The windows were left partially open which didnt help either. We booked a 'superior' lodge but it felt tired and neglected. The hot tub cover was broken and dangerous, plus the arm lever was damaged. The second bathroom had no heating in the shower, which was annoying and the dishwasher door was broken too. The duvet and pillows looked stained and dirty. When we told reception, they said no issues had been reported, so clearly they dont check cleanliness or maintenance properly. The only plus was the location. Honestly, I wouldnt recommend this place unless they make some big improvements. It definitely didnt feel like a superior lodge!"
Emily - Jan 2024
"Great spot for a chillout, lovely scenery and everything was spotless, would come again!"
Emma - Jul 2020
"We found the seasonal discounts perfect for retirees like us, making the trip more affordable and enjoyable."
John - Sep 2018
"Were really pleased with the service, exceeded what we expected, will return again!"
Jamie - Sep 2018
"Really enjoyed our stay here, its such a tranquil spot, perfect for unwinding. Would definitely return!"
Sam - Jun 2018
"Really enjoyed the whole experience"
Emily Roberts - Jun 2018
"Overall, its a nice spot, even if there are some things we didnt love."
Emma - May 2018
"The place is pretty decent overall, but it could use some fixing up. The bathroom sinks a nightmare to drain and the wardrobes broken. Reported everything to reception, though. Not bad, just needs a bit of TLC."
Alex - Apr 2018
"We had such a lovely time staying here! The location is perfect for a peaceful escape with friends and the layout really gives you plenty of privacy. The lodge itself was super spacious and spotlessly clean, with everything you could need-full oven, washer/dryer, dishwasher, even a bath and shower. The hot tub was an absolute highlight, already at the right temperature when we arrived and they checked the chemical levels daily, which was reassuring. We loved relaxing outside on the seating area too. The only minor hiccup was the service in the club restaurant; the staff seemed a bit unsure about the menu and drinks, but the food was delicious. Well definitely be back!"
Emily - Apr 2018
"Comfortable and cosy"
George - Mar 2018
"Great experience, definitely recommend to friends"
Alex - Feb 2018
"Great experience, well definitely be returning soon!"
James - Oct 2017
"Great spot for a relaxing weekend away!"
Jamie - Sep 2017
"The lodge was pretty spacious and offered lovely views, which was a real plus. The kitchen lacked some utensils weve had elsewhere and the double bed was just two singles pushed together-headboards overlapping was a bit awkward."
Emma - Aug 2017
"We had a really relaxing break at this lovely golf course, with a friendly clubhouse and great location nearby. Perfect!"
Emma - Aug 2017
"Weve stayed here three times now and its still such a peaceful spot. Perfect for unwinding and relaxing. Lovely place!"
Emma - Aug 2017
"Great place, friendly staff and well definitely return soon. Highly recommend to everyone!"
James - Jul 2017
"Looking forward to our stay!"
Lisa - Jul 2017
"We stayed in a really spacious lodge that was spotless. The furnishings felt high-quality and it had everything we needed, from a washing machine to a large fridge freezer. The rooms were comfy, with separate toilet and shower. Perfect for families or couples and the views were lovely!"
Emma - Jun 2017
"Decent overall, but the shower needs some attention."
James - Jun 2017
"Very cosy place, beautifully decorated, perfect for a quiet work trip."
James - May 2017
"We managed to snatch a last-minute deal and headed straight to Exeter with a couple of friends. From the moment we arrived, the guy at reception was friendly and gave us a warm welcome, showing us to our lodge. The place was in pretty good nick-sure, the exterior could do with a fresh coat of paint, but overall, it was spot on. The hot tub became our main hangout; we spent hours soaking and just chilling outside until about 3am, stargazing and loving every second. We also squeezed in some time on the golf range, which was pretty decent, but honestly, most of our stay was just about unwinding in the hot tub. The only real hiccup was the shower situation-the boiler was tiny, so we could only manage quick 2-minute showers before the water cooled down or everyone else had to wait ages for a warm rinse. Still, well definitely be coming back!"
Jamie - Apr 2017
"Good value for money, not much to fault. Bear in mind it is a golf course, so it doesn’t really have a kiddie play area. It’s about 30-40 minute drive to the beach, farms, parks etc Enjoyed our stay, good value for money. One gripe is they try and sting you an extra 5quid a day for WiFi. This is a con and something standard that needs to be in the price. Also not all the jets on the hottub work, and self clean isn’t very efficient."
Vincent - Apr 2022
"Such an amazing location. The staff were absolutely excellent. Very friendly and so helpful. Big thank you to all. We will definitely be back!!!"
Chris - Apr 2022
"The lodges are lovely, and the staff very friendly and helpful. We came away with our 10 year old son and grandma and the 2 bedroom lodge was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend and will be back! The meal we had at the club was delicious and brilliant that you get a discount as a resident. Such good value for the quality of food. Perfectly located, close to Exeter and lovely seaside towns. Lots to do!"
Marie - Feb 2022
"Really great lodge! The two bed we stayed in was massive. All the facilities you need are there, especially kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster) as well as TV with free view channels. No wifi though. Hot tub was great! Located right by the lodge’s front door. Could adjust temperature, lights etc. Parking right by the lodge too - useful. Location great too. About 10-15mins drive from Exeter where there’s loads of restaurants, good high street, the Quay, historic areas. Overall great experience, 10/10."
