Middleton Barn Reviews

Emma - Nov 2023
We stayed here last Thursday for a friend's 50th birthday, just five of us wanting to explore, walk some lovely countrysideand unwind. The place was fantastic, especially the hottub. Plus, it’s pretty close to Durdle Door, which was a bonus!
James Carter - Sep 2023
Nice, but average
Sarah - Jul 2023
The barn is a spacious and well-equipped home from home on an equine working farm. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. There's plenty of parking and loads of places to walk the dog. Most attractions were within 30 minutes travel, like Weymouth, Pooleand Durdle Door. We discovered a lovely pottery painting spot in Blandfordand we can recommend the gardens at Abbotsbury! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Louise - Jun 2023
Sarah and Neal provide stunning, clean accommodation that is really disabled friendly. All of downstairs is accessible in a wheelchair, including a fully fitted bathroom and bedroom. They are so welcoming and helpful! They even offered to help with our dog if it was too hot to go out with us. From the guest book reviews, they go above and beyond for all their guests. Set in gorgeous countryside with excellent local pubs, you can easily relax and unwind. We will be booking again with them.
Tom - May 2023
What a lovely clean barn! The folks running it were really niceand we felt super welcome. We would definitely go back again! 10 out of 10!
Louise - May 2023
A Simply stunning barn set in beautiful countryside which was beautifully peaceful. The barn has a downstairs bedroom of a good size and a good sized wet room, the barn is also very spacious which makes it a great stay if you are a wheelchair user. The bedrooms upstairs were comfortable and felt "home from home" the living area was comfortable and felt lovely and cosy on chilly evenings. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Emily - Apr 2023
We had an amazing stay! The Barn is spotless and in a perfect location. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly, going above and beyond for us. The kids absolutely adored the farm, especially getting to see the lambs and horses, plus the hot tub was a huge hit!
Emily - Mar 2023
What a perfect getaway! We were greeted by Sarah on arrivaland she was so friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The barn was just right for my dad, who has some limitations with his mobility. The downstairs bedroom and wet room allowed him some independence, which was brilliant. The location was lovely too; we got to see the sheep and lambs, which was just great. The hot tub was an added bonus for everyone. It was only a 15-minute drive to Tesco for any essentialsand we also visited Weymouth and Monkey World!
Emma - Jul 2022
This place has a truly nice location, perfect for both the coast and the countryside. It was a quiet spot that really suited us. We loved being greeted by the friendly farm dogs and spotted the farm cats on patrol too. The village is like something out of a picture postcard, really lovely. Our host was very friendly and made us feel so welcome. Thanks to our host's advice, we discovered some great local eating places that were easy to get to.
Michael - Jun 2022
We found the holiday accommodation to be really spacious, making it perfect for those who use wheelchairs. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. It’s such a beautiful place with lovely accommodation. We would certainly recommend it and can’t wait to go back!
James - Jun 2022
We had a lovely stay hereand the owner was super helpful and friendly! It was nice having the chickens and dogs come byand we enjoyed wandering around the farm to see the horses and those great views. It's a good spot for exploring the area. Plus, it's wheelchair friendly with a decent roll-in wet room. Thankfully, we were lucky with the weather as it was warm and sunny!
Emma - Apr 2022
A brilliant place to stay! The rooms are spacious and clean, plus the staff are super friendly and helpful. We loved the location, it’s close to everything we wanted to explore. Breakfast was a nice touch too, with plenty of options. Honestly, we can't wait to return! Just one tiny drawback - the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty at times. But overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!
Mark - Apr 2022
We had a great time at the farm with the kids who absolutely adored the animals! Would highly recommend it!
Jessie - Oct 2021
We absolutely loved our stay here! The location was just perfect, so quiet, relaxing and peaceful, plus there are loads of great walks nearby. The owner was truly delightful, so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The house itself was really nice indeed, with a proper 'wow' factor in the lounge! The hot tub was such a lovely touch. I also noticed how ideal this house would be for people with accessibility issues, it's very wheelchair friendly.
Emily - Sep 2021
What a peaceful spot! The hosts are super friendly and really helpful. The accommodation is clean and so comfortable. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone!
Oliver - Sep 2021
We highly recommend this place! The host is really pleasantand the location is just perfect. The local village of Milton Abbas is a short walk away and it’s very unique, like something out of a film or on a chocolate box. The local pubs are great tooand the food we had was excellent. Dorset is simply gorgeous with so much to seeand we will definitely return!

Monkey World - BH20 6HH

Monkey World is not only a local attraction but the work they carry out is amazing.  Rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys and assisting governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates are just some of the purposes of the centre. You get to see the primates themselves many of which have become famous from appearing on the TV show Monkey World - a documentary about this place. Open year round we think this is one of best attractions in Dorset and you even get the chance to adopt a monkey if you choose.

The centre also offers visitors an educational experience with talks and hands on events taking place daily.
Longleat Safari and Adventure Park - BA12 7NW
about 23 Miles
You may have seen this amazing attraction on the BBC1 Animal Park programme.  This is actually the first safari park outside of Africa where you can get close to the animals from the comfort of your own car. Some of the highlights include the zebras, the wallabies in wallaby wood and the sea lion escorted cruise to Gorilla Island.  And of course the magnificent lions and tigers are a must see.  This really is an animal experience with a difference and you can save money by booking your tickets online.  This attraction is open until the end of October. Check out their website to see some fantastic video podcasts of the park.

The brand new Peppa Pig World features 7 amazing new rides and an Indoor Play Area to keep the little ones amused for hours. Of course those looking for more adrenaline boosting activities will not be disappointed either as there are over 60 rides in total to try out. The mighty Edge ride and the terrifying Cobra rollercoaster are the ones to go for if white knuckle rides are your thing. Live entertainment is also on offer several times throughout the season including some amazing family shows such as "The Light Fantastic" which takes place this October.
Fort Victoria - PO41 0RR
about 33 Miles
Fort Victoria is many attractions in one convenient location. What once was a historically important fort is now home to a Marine Aquarium, a Model Railway, a Sea Bed Archaeology Exhibition and a Planetarium.
