Riverview Lodges and Glamping Reviews

"Please dont go there"
Tony - Mar 2024
"As previous, ABYSMAL, DIRTY, TIRED, POOR!"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Front door wouldn't shut had to tie a towel to the handle and a chair the first night and push the sofa up against the cupboard and door so no one could get in was promised the next day that it would be fixed but it wasn't very disappointing the hot tub was dirty looked like it not been cleaned in weeks the clubhouse was run by kids"
Chelsea - Jul 2023
"The lodge was beautiful. The hot tub kept filling up with leaves and bugs due to it being under a lot of trees, there was also no privacy to the hot tub which was disappointing as it just seemed you were very much on show to everyone coming in and out of the gate. Disappointed with some of the cleanliness, only because my daughter rolled something under the bed, when I bent down to get it out there was a pair of someone else's pants and crisp packets all under the bed."
Charlotte - May 2023
"Nice place to stay .Beware no local shops so take loads of supply's"
Stuart - May 2023
"The shower screen was not fitted correctly and was leaking but that did not stop us having a lovely break away."
Donna - May 2023
"what can I say, well cant wait to visit again."
Deb - Jan 1970
"The hut was amazing; well equipped and more spacious than we were expecting after seeing the pictures. The heater was very effective and quickly heated the place during some chilly nights. The hot tub was perfect to relax in and stargaze. There was also a bbq area with an disposable bbq provided. We loved this little hut and can't wait to return!"
Craig - Jan 1970
"Only disappointment was it just having a microwave and hob as we were expecting some sort of oven so it was microwave pizzas on the first night!"
Sarah - Jan 1970
"Loved our lodge it was so clean and modern and have everything we would want couldnt believe the value for money! The garden set and the BBQ was a lovely touch as well"
Rachael - Jan 1970
"I would recommend this park"
Jane - Jan 1970
"Great little holiday. Have to admit sofa bed would not have fitted two people (or two kids) on, so we did three in the bed (adult and 2 kids) and then an adult on the sofa bed. Sofa bed wasnt very comfy, I dont think I could have done more than 2 nights on it. But it didnt affect how great the little place is. It was super clean, facilities were great for cooking with a small family and would recommend 100%"
Kelly - Jan 1970
"Spend great time with great views"
Shereen - Jan 1970
"Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!"
Christopher - Nov 2024
"Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you! "
Phoebe - Nov 2024
"It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!"
Andrew - Nov 2024
"Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!"
Simon - Nov 2024
"Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend. "
Brooke - Nov 2024
"Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x"
Libby - Nov 2024
"Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill. "
James - Nov 2024
"We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people."
Annemieke - Nov 2024
"The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "
Carol - Nov 2024
"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "
Inderjit - Nov 2024
"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "
Richard - Nov 2024
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Sharon and Robert were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and secure for our dog Archie. The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. We felt our batteries had certainly been recharged during our week and we enjoyed our relaxing break! "
Denise - Nov 2024
"Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend "
Sharon - Nov 2024
"Lovely accommodation, very peaceful and relaxing and great for dogs as the garden is fully inclosed"
Fleur - Nov 2024
"Me and my partner stayed at twin rivers last week in one of the shepherds hut. We had the best experience/holiday ever. It was so peaceful, the views were perfect and and we absolutely loved our little hut. It was very private, clean and the hot tub made our experience ten times better. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. Danny in particular was good to everyone on site. The pool is a great thing to have there to. We loved our time here, we didnt want to leave. We will definitely be booking again and we have recommended you to so many friends because it was so good! Thank you for a lovely stay. We cant wait to come back already. Amazing x"
Kate - Jul 2022
