About Warren Lodges (formerly Herbage Country Lodges)

Warren Lodges (formerly Herbage Country Lodges) have a stunning location amidst the lush rolling landscape of the ancient Saxon County of Essex. This location is ideal for those wishing to explore the many delights of Constable Country. The contemporary lodges are dotted around a peaceful 48 acres site in an area abundant with wildlife and beautiful flora and fauna. Nature lovers will be in their element as rabbits and squirrels run free and native deer graze right on the doorstep.

Each lodge has been carefully furnished to meet the needs of the most discerning visitor. The well designed interiors afford plenty of space and superb comfort with large windows making the most of the beautiful uninterrupted country views. Generous external decking areas are appointed to each lodge and all have high quality outdoor furniture from which to enjoy the views.

The local area is home to a diverse mix of stunning landscapes from lush rolling hills and picture postcard villages, to sandy beaches and trendy marinas. The popular resort of Burnham on Crouch is often referred to as the 'Cowes of the East' and is alive with yachts in boating season. The nearby town of Chelmsford is only 6 miles away and you can be in London in less than an hour.

All of Warren Lodges are outstanding and combine contemporary design with comfort. The Bramley Lodge sleeps up to 4 and has an open plan interior and outside decking area. Warren Lodges (formerly Herbage Country Lodges) Reviews

"I came over from Canada and this was the best vacation I've ever had, staying at #17 Warren Lodge!!! It was everything I had hoped for and sooo much more!! My husband and I will absolutely be coming back to stay at this wonderful and amazing lodge! Thank you for the great memories!!!!"
Tanya - Sep 2024
"In the description of the lodge it was described as luxurious but if this is your idea of luxury we dread to think what would constitute a basic lodge. The lodge is so run down and in need of a complete refurbishment, it was as clean as the fabulous cleaning team could make it, but it did not come up to the expected standard considering the amount we had paid for this lodge. The kitchen was very badly equipped and of the 5 burners on the hob only 2 worked, considering this was for 6 people there was not sufficient crockery etc supplied. The outside is in an awful condition and the outside of the windows was filthy. We booked the lodge as we were attending a wedding and also our family were joining us from Switzerland, we know that there were no other 3 bed lodges available because when we arrived we were informed that the hot tub was not working, not a problem thank you for the refund, and the only other lodge available at the time was a 2 bed lodge. We felt there was no point in complaining as we needed to be at the Warren Estate and where else could we go. The site is beautiful and very peaceful, the only good thing was that the beds were very comfortable, the staff were so friendly and welcoming but we feel that this standard of accommodation reflects on Warren Estate reputation. The lodge is actually for sale and we showed a prospective purchaser around, they told us that they had been informed it was in need of a complete refurbishment, so once again how can it be described as luxurious. We really do feel that this contravenes Trading Standards and feel that we should be given some recompense for the fact that the advertisement was so misleading."

"Lodge was comfortable but could do with an update. Hot tub was gr8. Had everything you needed. Unfortunately poor phone signal and virtually no wifi (lodge 17). Good area to go exploring. Close enough to visit London."
Verified Guest - Jul 2024
"Needed 6 seats in outside area, hand towels and bath mat otherwise good location and lovely scenery"
Verified Guest - Jun 2024
"false advertisement, in the photo you can see that it is a relaxation without other nearby caravans, but in fact there is no such thing, the caravans are 2 meters apart"
Krasimira - Jun 2024
"Beautiful lodge, nice and bright too. Mostly clean but inside of fridge needed a clean. Also internal doors in lodge dirty. One towel each supplied and a kitchen towel. No hand towels or bath mat supplied which was difficult. So you need to bring more towels. The location was on the edge next to woods, lodge 17.The pool was nice and warm. Communal changing area but individual showers behind glass doors. We loved it here and would definitely like to come back."

"See previous comments re TV and furniture, dishwasher and other equipment."
Sam - May 2024
"Great location but let down by the standard of lodge. Lodge currently for sale with local agent. Hence the poor presentation"
Stephen - May 2024
"Great time had. A little work needed to freshen up.the chalet but nice and spacious and comfortable. Great hot tub and properties very well spread out so good pricacy"
Francis - Apr 2024
"Needs a good clean dog hair everywhere and I mean everywhere"
Elle - Apr 2024
"This was our 2nd visit, and we got the same lodge we had 5 years ago. The lodge needs updating and looks tired now. The fridge/freezer needs to be repaired/replaced, although still usable. The lodge needs new and extra utensils/pots and pans for self catering purposes. Weve had to improvise quite a bit. The beds and bed linen were good quality and we slept well. We did not use the towels. The hot tub was great. It was quite expensive, especially as the lodge was so dated."
Porscha - Apr 2024
"Lovely time spent with a friend. Loved the hot tub! Everything was clean and tidy and we had the option of staying in or using the local facilities. Would go again."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Good location but let down by the state of lodge. As stared previously en-suite awful and access left a bit to be desired."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Second visit and well be back again. Excellent for a relaxing weekend. The lodge was in a very private location. Lovely view and we saw deer from our windows."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Lovely lodge, everything there that we needed. It was lovely that a Christmas tree was up ready for our arrival. Thanks for having us."

David - Feb 2019
"A lovely pet friendly lodge with excellent facilities"
Wendy - Dec 2018
"Cleanliness would have been higher except for a couple of minor issues. The freezer was so iced up the door would not seal properly. Also the kitchen bin had a black bag in when we arrived but when it was removed the bin was filthy with bits of old food!"
Stephen - Oct 2018
"Will visit again and again .As a family it is brilliant for us all the kids and dog enjoy the country walks .I enjoy the hot tub .A Lovely and relaxing holiday my 3rd visit and wouldn't have recommended to friends."
Lynne - Oct 2018
"The accommodation was absolutely lovely very vey clean and they had thought of everything lovely little touches. The staff were amazing so very helpful and before we finished our break we booked to go back. Amazing."
Donna - Jul 2022
"Stayed with family and had the freedom to come and go, although there were a lot of lodges I still felt we had privacy, only complaint was the kids couldn't go in pool after six but overall we had a lovely time"
Noreen - Jul 2022
"This lodge is beautiful, in a gorgeous location and the Lodges are not too close so you get privacy. Few little bits niggled me initially but really ot worth the bother in the long run. Reception extremely helpful the one time we needed them"
Michaela - Jun 2022
"We had a lovely time. At arrival we found out that the hottub wasn't working and the staff let us change with another accommodation."
Ccile - May 2022
"The staff were helpful and polite, i have stayed in lodge 26 before and saw the improvement to the decking and the new hottub, the decor of the lodge looks a little tired and is in need of redecorating, torn wall paper in the bathroom and a couple of other locations also the strings to the blinds need repairing or replacing. The location is great abd the swimming pool abd gym to a high standard"
Lynn - May 2022
"Great time thanks"
Paul - Apr 2022
"Lovely surroundings, staff very good, didn't use pool or gym but looked good."
