About Ellas Loft

Ella's Loft is a truly romantic and idyllic holiday lodge with a hot tub located in the picturesque churchyard of Kent Downs. This fabulous one-bedroom retreat has been beautifully converted from a traditional cart barn and offers the perfect getaway for couples looking to explore the ancient and historic region of Kent.

Located in the charming village of Godmersham, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is just a stone's throw away from the village of Chilham and the historic city of Canterbury. The location makes it the ideal base for exploring this beautiful area and the nearby Pilgrim's Way provides the perfect starting point for a range of outdoor activities and excursions.

As you pull into the off-road parking space, you will immediately be struck by the peaceful and tranquil surroundings at Ella's Loft. Make your way up the decking stairs, past the lovely outdoor furniture and into the loft to be welcomed into the open-plan living space.

The layout of the loft is neat and well-designed, offering everything you need for a relaxing self-catered break. The comfortable sofa set faces the TV, while large windows allow natural light to flood the space. The color scheme is bright and inviting, with a compact and well-equipped kitchen space including an electric oven and hob, a fridge, and an amazing dishwasher built into the wall to conserve space.

Ella's Loft features some great touches too! The winged dining table with folding chairs offers a clever space to enjoy a meal for two, or head outside and take advantage of your own private decking space with some alfresco dining, keeping warm in the evening with the outdoor heater.

The loft also features a hot tub placed on raised decking, where you can admire the lovely countryside setting as the warm waters bubble.

Back inside, you will find a beautiful bathroom, complete with an Aqualisa Smart shower over the large bath, providing the ultimate in relaxation and comfort. The lovely bedroom is home to a king-size bed and features more innovative storage, with drawers for your belongings built into the wall, as well as pretty bedding and furnishings.

The charming village of Godmersham, resting in the heart of the Kent Downs, has connections to one of England's favorite novelists, Jane Austen, who visited the village often thanks to her brother Edward who lived at Godmersham Park. It's said that she got inspiration for her novels Emma, Pride & Prejudice and Mansfield Park here.

In summary, Ella's Loft is the perfect holiday destination for couples looking for a romantic and idyllic getaway in the heart of Kent's countryside. With its beautiful conversion, well-designed layout, and convenient location, it offers the ultimate in relaxation and comfort. Make your way to Godmersham and experience all that this charming village and the surrounding area has to offer.

Ellas Loft Reviews

Paul - Oct 2024
My wife and I had a wonderful weekend away staying at Ella's loft. The setting was gorgeous and the loft was cosy and comfortable. We had all we needed and were treated to a delicious welcome pack. The hosts were welcoming and helpful with some great suggestions of places to visit. The hot tub was fabulous, it was so clean it looked brand new. We would very much recommend a stay and I'm sure we will be back again.
James - Sep 2024
Lovely little holiday home in a lovely area with wonderful owners on sight who couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you Steve and Sheila.
Barry - Aug 2024
Me and my partner throughly enjoyed our relaxing stay, the hosts Steve and Sheila are lovely and the welcome pack was amazing, eggs bacon tea coffee and even home made muffins! The place was very clean and quiet and the hot tub was a beautiful way to relax, will definitely be returning and recommending, thank you
Anna - Aug 2024
Hosts were great and showed us around on arrival they had even prepared a care package of bread, eggs etc which was above and beyond expectation. The place itself is perfect for two and has the feeling of being up in the trees. The hot tub was very clean and well looked after and overlooked a koi pond which I could watch for hours . There is also a fire pit which was also a welcome feature. Overall a great spot which I would recommend to anyone.
Nicola James - Aug 2024
We had a great holiday and appreciated the really warm welcome in person and food package from the hosts who were excellent. The hot tub was just perfect clean and secluded. This was a real bonus which we made use of throughout the stay.
Neil - Jul 2024
Host Steve was a delight . Showed us round the facility . Gifted us treats. We had a lovely stay.
Chelsea - Jul 2024
On the listing they have failed to mention that this property is actually located in their front garden. The only privacy you will get is in the actual cabin. You can see and hear the owners when you are in the hot tub. One of the owners was making a loud noise by chopping wood. Their daughter and granddaughter had arrived and they were loud. This isnt mentioned on the website but it is mentioned in the welcome pack after youve paid and arrived of course. They refused to give me a refund even though we left a few hours after arriving. I left because I couldnt relax with the feeling of being watched. I was seen as I was walking to the hot tub and Im very self conscious of my body because of my scars from having cancer. I will definitely be taking this further. I am so upset.

Wonderful stay and fantastic hosts. Warm welcome for our labrador too. Home from home and the little touches made all the difference. Perfect little hideaway. Hot tub was meticulously maintained and views were wonderful. Even in the rain!Would highly recommend and will definitely be booking again.

Our second trip to Ellas loft for some R and R. Great long weekend stay and Steve even managed to arrange some sunshine for us our one request. Lovely little place which is perfect for a little recharge. Thank you
John - Oct 2023
Great place to stayVery quietVery pleased with our weekend stayHot tub very nice
Jill - Oct 2023
My daughter and I had a fantastic few days at Ella's loft. The owners where friendly and welcoming and the loft is a lovely little space. The loft had everything we needed to self cater and was warm and comfortable. Yes its small but I would say perfectly formed and plenty of space for the two of us. Its a lovely peaceful location but well sited for Canterbury and the coast. The hot tub is a lovely addition and being undercover means it can be used in all weathers. I'm really looking forward to visiting again in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ella's Loft. Very comfortable accommodation and fab hot tub. Easy access to Kent's many attractions.World definitely recommend to others.
Amy - Aug 2023
I think overall Ellas loft is a great place to stay and I enjoyed my week away. The bed was very comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need. The homemade muffins were a nice touch. The hot tub was one of the best Ive used. Definitely the highlight of my week. However its clear that the photos advertised were taken when the place was new. In my opinion it could do with a spruce up. Cracks in the bathroom floor, plaster coming off of the walls. It was pointed out to me that the blind in the bedroom was broken and being held down by wire, surely this is something that can easily be replaced? The WiFi didnt work at all during my stay, I reported it and was told the router had been reset but it still didnt work. I had to use my own mobile data to watch the tv. I was only provided with one toilet roll and had to ask for more when that ran out mid stay. I dont think this is something guests should have to ask for. I dont like to leave negative feedback but there are just a few things that were missing for me to make this a five star stay.
Kendell - Jul 2023
Such a lovely little get away, would highly recommend! The owners are lovely and supplied cute homemade muffins, rolls, bacon & eggs! Would highly recommend
Gail - Jul 2023
Lovely little place to stay, welcome pack was so kind, and the home made cherry muffins topped it off! But having some milk, eggs, bacon, tea, coffee, sugar so you don't need to worry when you first arrive is a great touch. Lovely people, not intrusive, but if you need anything ate really helpful. Place is small but everything is a nice touch, hot tub is wonderful, peaceful location and so easy to get to different places. Highly recommended
ette - Jun 2023

Heather - Apr 2023
Such a lovely homely feel when you arrive. so relaxing and the hot tub is a bonus. Very well equipped with kitchen items and a lovely welcome package with home made scones which was amazing, jam, cream , bacon, eggs, bread, butter and some milk. The owners was lovely and helpful too.
