Noahs Retreat Reviews

"Amazing we will be all going again nice and relaxing. The place was lovely and quite and it was lovely waking up to sunshine and the lake with the ducks on ."
Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"Lovely lodge furnished great , bed was a little low for us , but was still comfortable, wished it had a few cushions on the sofas and maybe a lamp in the living area , other then that great lodge."
Diane - Sep 2024
"Lovely holiday and lodge was lovely. When we arrived there was no reception. Only five lodges, busy building another one so think it's a new site. Some cutlery and dishes were not clean. Clothes airer is needed as there is no where to dry towels. Couldn't get on wifi at all kept saying wrong password, told to move router still couldn't get on, but we still had a lovely time as it was a very quiet and peaceful site."
Verified Guest - Apr 2024
"Lovely lodge and hot tub, really clean environment. Owner very friendly and helpfull during the stay. Beds very soft and could do with a shower chair for those with reduced mobility."

"Beautiful lodge in peaceful surroundings within easy reach of local attractions"

"The lodge is spacious and well kitted out . A few issues that will spoil the holiday is the creaking floor ( it's every step), the flickering lights and bifold doors were sticking .. residue build up in hot tub every use even tho he cleaned with solution each morning"
Caroline - Mar 2024
"I'd read some reviews before our stay that were pretty negative, from lights flicking on and off at will, to filthy hot tubs you could not step into for fear of disease. Any concerns were squashed within 10 mins of arriving. The cabin was lovely, clean and warm. Within the hour, we were soaking in the (very clean) hot tub and as my wife had removed make up before, this is the way it stayed. The bottle of Prosecco in the fridge and box of chocolates was a thoughtful touch which was much appreciated. The view onto the lake was amazing and in the morning as the sun was rising, quite majestic. The light did dim on occasion before returning to normal, indicating some teething issues and possibly a few to many kettles being turned on at the same time, this place is pretty new and this is just a teething issue, I'm sure will be addressed in time. The place feels in the middle of nowhere (which we liked) but Grimsby/Cleethorpes were only a 10 minute drive away. There is also a Service Station a few minutes down the road and the Spar there stocks pretty much most of what you could need for a nice stay at the cabin. All in all a very nice place that we will definitely return to in the warmer months, with fishing rods to try out the lake."

"Beautiful lodge"

"We stayed here for Christmas (23rd-27th). After reading prior reviews we were hesitant to stay here and if it wasn't for the time of year we would probably have rebooked somewhere else. But, I can honestly say that we had a brilliant time at this lodge. Our welcome pack of a bottle of prosecco and a box of chocolates was lovely. Cleaning supplies and dishwasher tablets provided. It was very clean and quite spacious and beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree and Christmas ornaments. Excellent facilities within the lodge and has TV's in every room with netflix, Disney+ and Amazon. There is WiFi (although quite slow) but we found that ID mobile / Three had 5g signal so we used our own to hotspot. Lots of car parking space (there is a 3 pin plug next to the carpark space if you need to charge EV car through 3 pin but we had enough charge so didn't do this). The hot tub was set at 40degrees and was always hot when we wanted to use it.. it was clean (this was checked and cleaned every morning by the owner) and had no issues with it turning itself off (as previous review said they had). We used the hot tub every day. There are ducks on the lake and we enjoyed feeding them. People in the opposite lodge were fishing. The decking was gated and secure to stop the dog escaping. The lights in the lodge did dim when using the kettle etc but there are lamps around the lodge that didn't. We honestly did not find this an issue. The lodge did not smell of any previous pets staying there. We showered every day (there are 2 showers) and we did not find it leaked to any of the carpets as previous review?? You could not hear any noise from any of the other lodges or surrounding area. We did find that the lights automatically came on around the outside of the lodge at night which I presume are on a sensor which was annoying through the night. All in all I would 100% recommend staying here and would say don't let the previous reviews put you off as it nearly did for us. We would definitely stay again!"

"We absolutely loved our stay here and are already looking to book again! My husband is T4 paraplegic and a manual wheelchair user. Its always tricky finding somewhere that can meet his accessibility needs as well as his love of fishing, being dog friendly and a good quality. We truly hit the jackpot here, its so homely and tranquil. The lodge was immaculately clean on arrival and lovely and warm. The chocolates and Prosecco were a nice touch (and quickly disappeared).Despite the recent storms the fishing setup wasnt a problem its all boarded so he wasnt rolling mud in via the wheelchair. WIFI was good enough to stream TV services and Zoom calls I had to login to without interruption. The main lights can flicker but it wasnt an issue. Staff on site are fabulous, the hot tub was checked daily and nothing was too much trouble. The nearest supermarket is only 5 minutes drive away in Laceby and theres everything you need in the local area. Even our dog looked sad to go home, thank you for a great new years break!!"
Jane - Jan 2024
"Enjoyed our few days away between Christmas and New Year. Extended family of 10, ranging from 14-80. Welcome gift on arrival fab, along with subtle Christmas decs made for a lovely touch.Lodge fitted out to high spec. Only 6 comfy seats, so whoever got to settees first, but comfy dining chairs if missed out. Had to pull couple of outside chairs to seat at dining room table.Well equipped, but could do with a couple of pint glasses.New site, difficult to find where/how to check in when arriving in dark. New reception being built, so will hopefully address once complete. Along with the site and surrounding area being dark.Read the reviews about lighting beforehand. Ours dimmed a few times and we lost power briefly once. Hot tub fantastic!"
Samantha - Jan 2024
"I took the previous reviews of this lodge as a pinch of salt, but unfortunately, they were factual and an actual representation of what I experienced in the lodge. In fact, these issues became so much that I left 2 nights into a 4 night stay. Firstly, there's inadequate signage to find the 'park'. I say 'park' because it's nothing other than a little bit of land with some water and some cabins plonked upon it. The directions provided in the Hoseasons booking are limited and the provided postcode takes you to a different location. When we arrived the hot tub was still heating up which meant it could not be used straight away. Although this was a little disappointing, given that I had booked months in advance and they knew I was coming, I forgave that. First impressions were great, the cabin looked nice and fresh - a complimentary bottle of fizz and some chocolates were a nice touch. Regretfully, that's where the positives ended... The floor squeaks with every step you take, clearly, the foundations on which it is built are inadequate. The TV is exceptionally slow, much to the point you don't even bother turning it on as it takes so long to load just the TV guide. The WiFi, forget it, there's no point - it literally doesn't work. This isn't a fault of the 'park' however, but, they should remove the router and stop advertising WiFi in the cabin because it just does not work. Talking of things that don't work, the electricity to the whole 'park' is wholly inadequate too! The lights dim frequently and often to the point it knocks the TV off and most certainly resets the cooker (so if you've a timer set, good luck!). This was very very annoying and causes a lot of problems for us.The hot tub had warmed up to about 37c by 9pm so we decided to take a dip. Unfortunately, as per previous reviews, thick black scum appeared as soon as the jets were turned on. This scum was clearly detritus that had not been cleaned from previous guests - not wanting this to spoil our stay, I tried to clean it myself but was unable to do so. It really was stuck in the system! I have been to many lodge properties with hot tubs before and I have NEVER seen this. It actually made me feel physically sick. The boiler also seems to be affected by the dipping electricity, because often whilst showering the temperature plumets to those that are found in the Artic Circle which will leave you questioning your life choices. The following morning we tried to cook a full english breakfast using the provided facilities but found it near impossible to use the hob as everytime it was turned up to a useable temperature the power would 'dip' causing the induction hob to turn off. This was very frustrating! In the end, I travelled to nearby Waltham to grab a takeaway instead. The second night that we stayed I was kept up with a very loud buzzing sound in the master bedroom, the cause of which I have not been able to identify. But nontheless, in an attempt to enjoy the holiday, I jumped into the hot tub and tried to forget about the black scum accompanying me. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that as now the black scum had turned into large floating debris and it was chasing me around the hot tub!At this point, I decided enough was enough and we packed our car and left. I'm sure for most, like us, the hot tub is one of the main reasons you stay in this lodge and it's certainly not up to par. I'd definitely advise anybody who is thinking of booking this lodge to think again.Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and I will not be returning."

Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL

Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 6 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 13 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
