Noahs Retreat Reviews

"Couldve been better, honestly quite disappointing."
Martin J. Clarke - Mar 2025
"Great spot, perfect for unwinding after work."
Emma Johnson - Feb 2025
"Honestly, this lodge blew us away. Everything we needed was there, from the comfy beds to the well-stocked kitchen. We had a fantastic stay and even managed some baking with all the cookware available. Absolutely loved it!"
Emma - Feb 2025
"Comfortable and spacious, but could use some tweaks."
James - Feb 2025
"Our Noahs Retreat review: Really enjoyed our stay, the views are absolutely stunning!"
Oliver Turner - Feb 2025
"Great little lodge, feels cosy and has all you need with lovely views. Would recommend!"
Tom and Lucy - Jan 2025
"We had a really relaxing week here, just what we needed. The surroundings are lovely and peaceful, perfect for unwinding. Our daughters favourite spot is definitely the water - she loves it! Sitting in the hot tub, watching the ducks on the lake, was just perfect. We barely heard any road noise unless there were boy races nearby, which wasnt often. We brought a mobile hoist to help with her needs, though it wouldve been even better if the beds had open bases so she could move around easier. The dog loved having a secure space of its own. Shops arent too far away and it was nice to see Christmas decorations everywhere around the grounds. John was really helpful too!"
Olivia - Dec 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The lakeside view was stunning and the location was perfect. Bedrooms were cosy and there was plenty of storage. Parking and access were also top-notch. Would definitely return!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"We absolutely loved our stay! The lodge was stunning and had everything we could need - dishwasher, full oven, large fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, you name it. It really felt luxurious. The peaceful site was perfect and the hot tub was great fun for four of us. The complimentary fizz and chocolates were such a lovely touch. Highly recommended!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the beds were super comfy!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"We had a fantastic time! The place was peaceful and perfect for relaxing. Waking up to the sunshine and ducks on the lake was just lovely. Well definitely be coming back soon!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"The lodge and site are spotlessly clean and the peaceful vibe really helps you unwind. Lovely stay!"
James - Oct 2024
"The lodge was really lovely and well furnished. The bed was a bit low for us, but still comfy. Wed have loved a couple of cushions on the sofas and a lamp in the living room to make it perfect. Overall, we enjoyed it though!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"Loved it! Will be back soon!"
Emma - Sep 2024
"When we first arrived at Bullfinch Lodge, we thought it looked promising - a good-sized place with a lovely view over the lake and a secure patio for the dogs, which was great. The hot tub was a nice touch too! The bedrooms and main living area were decent enough, enough space for us to relax. However, things started to go downhill pretty quickly. The toilet had been leaking for months and it still left a musky smell every time we flushed, which was pretty off-putting. The carpets and rugs are heavily stained and really need replacing and the lino flooring was filthy - covered in shoe prints. We even had to buy wipes just to clean the remotes! The decking was covered in green moss and branches and the hot tub, which initially looked clean, revealed dirty water once the jets were turned on. Honestly, it feels like these issues will only get worse since the lodge is up for sale, so I doubt theyll bother fixing anything soon. Overall, it was a change of scenery, but the poor cleanliness means we wont be returning anytime soon."
Emma Roberts - Aug 2024
"Great service, would recommend"
James - Aug 2024
"Overall, we had a lovely time, though its really peaceful here, which is great for relaxing. Just a heads-up, youll need a car since shops are a bit of a drive away. Perfect if youre after quiet!"
Claire - Jul 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, super relaxing and well comfy!"
Emma - Jun 2024
"We really loved this place, but the beds are a bit of a pain if you need a hoist. They look lovely, but theyre way too low for that sort of equipment. Would be amazing if they offered profiling beds or hoist hire options, honestly. Still, gorgeous spot!"
Clara - Jun 2024
"Our stay was quite relaxing and the lodge itself was lovely. We arrived to find no reception, which was a bit odd, but the site was peaceful, probably because theyre still developing it since only five lodges are finished. A few bits like cutlery and dishes werent quite clean and an airer wouldve been handy since theres nowhere to hang towels. WiFi was a nightmare-kept saying wrong password, even after moving the router. Still, we really enjoyed the quiet vibe!"
Harriet Collins - Apr 2024
"We had a lovely stay at the lodge! The hot tub was great and everything was spotless. The owner was super friendly and helpful. Beds were plush, though a shower chair would help those with mobility issues."
Emily Carter - Mar 2024
"The lodge was absolutely lovely, set in such a peaceful spot!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"Wed heard some pretty mixed reviews before booking, with worries about flickering lights and dirty hot tubs that seemed more like a health hazard than relaxing. Honestly, our experience was quite the opposite. The cabin was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy right from the start. We were in the hot tub within an hour and it was super clean - my wife had taken her make-up off beforeh and, so we could really enjoy it without any worries. The view over the lake was stunning, especially at sunrise-it really did take our breath away. The occasional dimming of the lights did catch us off guard at first, but it seemed like some teething issues with the new place, possibly from too many kettles being used at once. Nothing major and Im sure theyll sort it out soon enough. The location felt quite remote, which we loved - peace and quiet, with Grimsby and Cleethorpes just ten minutes away by car. Theres also a handy service station nearby and the Spar stocks most things you might need for a comfy stay. We really enjoyed ourselves and are already planning to come back in the warmer months, maybe with some fishing rods to try out on the lake. All in all, a lovely stay and definitely worth returning to!"
Jamie - Feb 2024
"Loved our stay overall, just a few lights flickered quite a bit, but nothing major."
Rachel - Feb 2024
"Really loved the place"
Emma Carter - Jan 2024
"We had such a lovely week at your gorgeous lodge, staying in the Robin cabin. It really felt like a home away from home and honestly, we didnt want to leave! The place is so thoughtfully equipped - youve thought of everything. The view over the lake is absolutely stunning; we spent ages just sitting there soaking it all in. The peacefulness of the countryside was exactly what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle. My partner was especially chuffed with the fishing spot and the outdoor area with the hot tub, settee and table was just perfect for relaxing. Would definitely recommend it!"
Emma - Jan 2024
"We recently spent Christmas at this lodge (23rd-27th) and honestly, we werent sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews. At first, we were thinking of looking somewhere else, especially given the time of year, but were really glad we stayed here. The welcome pack with a bottle of prosecco and chocolates was a lovely touch and made us feel quite cosy right from the start. Inside, the place was spotless, spacious and beautifully decorated for Christmas - a real festive vibe with a tree and ornaments that made it feel special. The facilities were great - every room had a TV with Netflix, Disney+and Amazon, which was perfect for relaxing evenings. The WiFi was a bit slow, but since we had 5G on our ID mobile/Three, we just used our own hotspot without any issues. Plenty of parking space was available and theres even a 3-pin plug by the carpark if you need to charge an EV - though we didnt need to use it. The hot tub was a real highlight; kept at 40C and always ready when we wanted a soak. It was clean, checked daily by the owner and didnt turn itself off like one of the reviews suggested - we used it every day with no problems.Feeding the ducks on the lake was such a simple pleasure and we enjoyed watching the people fishing from the opposite lodge. The decking was secure enough to keep our dog safe, which was important for us. The lighting inside was fine - yes, the lamps didnt dim when using the kettle, but honestly, it didnt bother us at all. The lodge didnt have that pet smell some reviews mentioned and the showers were great - no leaks or issues, unlike what others had experienced. We couldnt hear any noise from neighbouring lodges or the surrounding area, so it was really peaceful. The outdoor lights do turn on automatically at night, which was a bit bright at times, but its a minor quibble. Overall, wed definitely recommend this place - dont let the previous reviews put you off. Were already planning to come back!"
Emma - Jan 2024
"We had such a lovely time staying here, were already planning to come back! Finding somewhere that suits my husb and's needs as a T4 paraplegic and wheelchair user isnt always easy, especially with his love for fishing and having a dog. Luckily, this place ticked all the boxes - super homely and peaceful. The lodge was spotless when we arrived and had a cosy warmth that made us feel right at home. The little touches like chocolates and Prosecco were a nice surprise, though they didnt last long! Despite recent storms, the fishing setup was still perfect since its all boarded, so he didnt have to worry about rolling mud in through the wheelchair. The WiFi was reliable enough to stream TV and do Zoom calls without any hassle. The main lights flickered a bit, but honestly, it wasnt a big deal. The staff were fantastic - they checked the hot tub daily and were always happy to help. The local shop in Laceby is only five minutes away, with everything youd need. Even our dog looked a bit sad to leave, so thanks for a brilliant New Years break!!"
Harriet - Jan 2024
"We had a lovely few days over the Christmas and New Year period with our extended family of 10, from teenagers to seniors. The welcome gift and subtle festive decorations really added a warm touch when we arrived. The lodge was beautifully done up, high-spec and cosy, though with only six comfy seats, some of us had to settle for the dining chairs or pull in outside ones to sit together. Its well equipped, but a couple of pint glasses wouldve been handy. Finding the site in the dark was tricky, especially since the new reception isnt finished yet, but were sure thatll improve soon. The surrounding area and lighting could be better, as the site was quite dark at times and we lost power once when the lights dimmed. The hot tub was absolutely fantastic! Wed definitely come back, just hope they sort out the check-in and lighting issues."

Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 6 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 13 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
