Willow Lakes Lodges Reviews

"Really enjoyed it, would do again."
Sam - Mar 2025
"Honestly, the lodges are okay - decent decor and well equipped, so no complaints there. But we won't be coming back. The check-in times on the website say "after 4pm," yet only after we paid did we find out its actually between 5 and 6 pm, with fines if you're even a minute late! That was such a hassle, especially since we had to take time off work and it made our long journey pretty stressful, worrying about traffic delays. Also, the website mentions zip lock beds, which isnt true - they caused us some issues. The check-out time is listed as "before 10 am," but its actually before 9 am, again with fines if late. Not really the fault of the place, but if you're not into fishing, theres not much to do nearby. Overall, its a bit misleading and stressful, which is a shame because the lodges themselves are quite nice."
Emma Taylor - Nov 2024
"The place was lovely overall, though we did notice a broken toilet seat which was a bit of a pain. Also, a couple of tiles in the kitchen were cracked. We mentioned it to reception, so fingers crossed it gets fixed soon!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"Willow Lakes is such a peaceful spot, honestly. The lodges are super well-equipped and comfy - we felt right at home. The staff, especially Laurence, couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The Landmark is lovely for a bite or a coffee, but definitely book early! We had a lovely break away from everything and can't wait to return. Definitely recommend!"
Emma Turner - Oct 2024
"Our Willow Lakes Lodges review: We recently stayed at Willow Lakes Lodge and honestly, its a really peaceful spot. The whole vibe is super relaxing and Lawrence really makes a difference - such a genuine, warm guy, attentive without being overbearing. It honestly helps make the whole experience feel special. We booked the Woodpecker lodge, which is adults only and it was spotless - Ive stayed in plenty of places and this one was definitely up there in cleanliness. The view of the lake, along with the wildlife and horses, really adds to the charm. The restaurant served great food and the staff were all lovely. The only two things wed mention as minor niggles - first, the hot tub area isnt fully fenced, which felt a bit odd, especially for an executive lodge where privacy is key. Secondly, the signage for the reception is a bit confusing, as it mentions sales, which might make you think its more about buying a lodge than checking in. Still, overall, a lovely place to unwind!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"The lodge was super roomy and spotless, with really comfy beds. It had all we needed for a great holiday, especially loved the hot tub! Definitely recommend."
Simon - Sep 2024
"The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The staff were really welcoming and helpful, which made our stay even better. There wasnt much to explore nearby, but thats exactly what we wanted - a chilled break with good food. Wed definitely come back!"
David - Sep 2024
"Nice quality, worth it"

"We had a lovely stay! The lodge was spotless and really comfortable, with high-quality furnishings. It made our trip so much better - definitely somewhere we'd stay again. Highly recommend!"
Emma Carter - Jun 2024
"The sofa was comfy, but honestly, a bit more room wouldve been perfect for our group of four. We felt a little cramped sometimes, especially after a long day. Still, overall, quite a nice place!"
Emma Carter - Jun 2024
"We stayed in the Kingfisher for four nights and really enjoyed the peaceful vibe. Perfect for relaxing and fishing!"
Sarah - Jun 2024
"We had a fantastic time here! The view of the lake is stunning and really sets the scene for a peaceful break. The hot tub was spotless and cosy and the lodge had everything we needed. Definitely planning to come back soon!"
Emma - May 2024
"Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff were friendly and helpful and everything was just perfect. Will return and recommend to friends!"
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"Absolutely loved this lodge, the views are breathtaking!"
Emma - Jan 2024
"Absolutely loved our stay! The staff were friendly and helpful, making everything so easy and enjoyable."
George - Nov 2023
"We recently spent a lovely week at Willow Lakes with the family. Kestrel Lodge offered stunning lake views and the cabins were really well stocked. Honestly, the location couldnt be better for a relaxing break!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"The lodge was really nice overall, though the balcony could do with some sprucing up. The hot tub was great!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"We had a wonderful stay at this lodge. The peaceful setting was just what we needed and everything we could think of was there. The restaurant with its terrace views was a real highlight. Jo and the team were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We really liked the overall quality of the furniture and fittings. Plenty of storage for a family and the bed was super comfy. Great lodge! Wed come back."
Emma Clarke - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed the experience overall."
Rachel - Nov 2023
"We had such a lovely stay here! The lodges location on the lakes edge is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The on-site restaurant offers breathtaking views, definitely worth a visit. Plus, there are plenty of walks right from the door, whether you fancy a quick stroll or a longer hike."
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"Loved the overall vibe here, everything was spot on. Well definitely be back soon. The hot tub was a highlight!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was spotlessly clean!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"So, we were suddenly moved to this site because the original place had a power cut and honestly, the owners couldnt have been more helpful. They made sure our lodge was warm and comfy and even sorted us a table at the lovely Landmark Cafe-definitely worth checking out. Our lodge was super clean, with three bedrooms and all the home-from-home bits we needed for a relaxing weekend. The deck with the hot tub overlooking the lake was the highlight-spent ages in there! Wed love to come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape. Really great stay overall!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"Feels just like staying at a friend's house"
Emma - Jun 2023
"We really enjoyed our stay at Swan Lodge. The view over the lake was stunning, with loads of Canada Geese and birds flying about, making it such a peaceful spot. The lodge had everything we needed and the hot tub was a real highlight! If only bedroom 2 had a mirror, itd be perfect. Definitely recommend!"
Emma - May 2023
"We recently stayed at Wren Lodge with a group of five for a short getaway. The place was spotless and really comfortable, with plenty of space for everyone. It had all the essentials, including a washing machine which was a lifesaver! The hot tub was definitely the highlight - we loved it. A little step wouldve been handy and having the hot tub under cover might have kept the blossoms out, but honestly, these are minor things. We had such a great time and would happily return. Definitely recommend for a relaxing break!"
Emily Carter - May 2023
"We had a great weekend here! The staff, especially Rachael, was so helpful and quick to respond whenever we needed. The village has some charming pubs, though its quite a trek at about 50 minutes walk. Still worth it though!"
Emma - Mar 2020
"Really enjoyed our stay here."
Mark - Jan 2020
"Excellent break, very peaceful and relaxing"
Lou - Jul 2022
"Really lovely lodge in a quiet location. Staff all very friendly and welcoming."
Derek - May 2022
"Fantastic lodges, very relaxing, the fishing is great with a wet stocked lake and the owners can't do enough for you - we will definitely be returning"
Verified Guest - May 2022
"It really was the perfect place to stay for a quiet and restful few days away. Close enough to Grimsby to visit the Fishing Heritage Museum along with the Time Trap museum. The accommodation is contemporary, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, albeit the double beds seemed small compared to our Super-king at home and mattress was certainly harder. Overall it was fantastic."
Ian - Apr 2022
"This was exactly what we needed! After a stressful few months we just wanted to get away from it all and relax. That's exactly what this holiday and location allowed us to do. Loved the quiet, nature and especially the hot tub! The owners Jo and Laurence were really helpful and the one slight snag we had was sorted out immediately. We will definitely be returning. A brilliant place for rest and relaxation and a relatively short drive to cleethorpes, Mablethorpe ,and a little further afield, Skegness for the seaside. Or a short drive to Louth for a pleasant little market town."
Glenn - Apr 2022
"The owners was very helpful, she was always available to help with our questions and concerns. The lodge was very clean and had all the facilities you could possibly want. The hot tub was a great addition. The a-z guide was very helpful, it detailed all the local amenities and attractions. The park was very clean and quiet. We would highly recommend and will be returning again soon."
Luke - Apr 2022
"Great service . Fantanatic view. High quality accommodations."
Nan - Apr 2022
"This is our second stay at Willow Lakes. The first time the weather was continuous sunshine. The second time (bearing in mind it was early Spring) the weather was changeable and colder, but it didn't matter. We enjoyed the surrounding area and the accommodation was first class."
Norman - Mar 2022
"Our stay at the shift cabin was an amazing break for the family made better by the friendliness of Jo and husband who made our stay really comfortable and easy. The location was lovely and the lodge itself was the best we haver ever stayed in. We will definately be coming back for a long stay soon!"
Sara - Mar 2022
"The staff here couldn’t have been any more lovely. I do however recommend to book directly through them rather then through a 3rd party. I had such an amazing relaxing break away here with the girls"
Toni - Nov 2021
"Amazing! Fabulous place x"
Audrey - Nov 2021
"Fantastic break away. Lodge is beautiful everything you need. The view of the lake from our room was so lovely. Info book is in the lodge showing details of shops, restaurants, takeaways etc . Staff are lovely. Great Fishing We will definately be going back."
Patricia - Nov 2021
"Great location. Made an excellent base to explore the area and for relaxing. It is highly likely that we will return (at a different time of year) to get the benefit of some of the other facilities that were on offer."
Graham - Nov 2021

Attractions Near Willow Lakes Lodges

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Willow Lakes Lodges. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 6 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 6 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 10 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
The Deep - HU1 4DP
about 19 Miles
Easily accessible from our Yorkshire Dales lodge parks is The Deep! An award-winning 'submarium', attraction, which is home to over 3500 fish from around the globe. Visitors can a stroll through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel and take a thrilling a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank. The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just £32.00.
Normanby Hall Country Park - DN15 9HU
about 24 Miles
Normanby Hall Country Park has a fantastically tranquil location Set in the 300 acres of Normanby Hall estate offering a relaxing choice for a family day out. The stunning grounds are abundant with wildlife as well as beautiful flora and fauna and there is no better place for a summer picnic. There is also plenty of open space for children to run around. The Deer park is sure to be a big hit with the children with herds of fallow deer to spot.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 30 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
