"The lodges are in beautiful surroundings and have the potential to be really lovely however there were a number of issues which just spoiled it. The toilet on our lodge was broken on arrival bits of it were left in the bathroom sink, reported this by phone and in person despite being told someone would be over to fix it no one came. Later the same evening there was no hot water in the shower for over 40 minutes once again I trekked around the site no one was in the reception building to be told there had been a leak and this was being sorted and someone would knock on and let us know when this would be fixed, this happened twice before I found a maintenance member of staff who fixed it on the day before we were due to leave. You can feel every spring in mattress. I have emailed Liv Retreats and havent had a response, they were also unhelpful over the phone. This is a shame because its such a lovely place"

"When we arrived the lodge was very clean. The hot tub was ready and waiting for us. Contained everything youd need. Very cosy and a very homely feel."

"Honestly, we werent impressed with the lodges. Inside, they felt more like static caravans and not very well maintained, especially considering theyre quite new. The bed had five slats missing, which was a bit annoyingand the wardrobes only had broken hangers. It hadnt been cleaned properly either-dirty crockery was put awayand they dont bother sweeping under the beds. Guttering was missing in patchesand the bright festoon lights at night really dont help with the blackout curtains. Not what we expected at all."

"Honestly, the lodge was a bit cramped for five of usand the beds were pretty outdated - springs digging into our backs all night didnt help! The hot tub was definitely a highlight, nice touch after a long day. The location was so remote that the WiFi and signal were pretty much non-existent, which meant the TVs didn't work at all during our stay. The onsite pub was lovelyand the woman working there was super friendly, making the experience more enjoyable. Prices for food and drinks were really reasonable too. It lacked that cosy, homely vibe, probably because there werent many personal touches, but the staffs friendliness did make up for some of it."

"This spot is perfect if you want peace and quiet away from the hustle. The pubs Thai food was really top notch. Hosts were super friendly from the moment we arrived, making it a lovely, welcoming stay altogether. Well be back!"

"Honestly, I was a bit nervous after reading some negative reviews, but we had a lovely weekend here. The hot tub was fantasticand the place feels pretty secluded, so remember to bring everything you need. The on-site pub serves great Thai foodand breakfast was really tasty. Definitely planning to come back soon!"

"Getting to the site was quite the journey - five miles down a really bumpy single track, not ideal for your car at all. Once there, we found the nearby village of Metheringham, which has a few pubs, takeawaysand a co-op, so not bad for basics. Its about an hours drive to Anderby Creek, which is a lovely spot, but honestly, its a bit of a trek each way. The setting by the river is really nice, lots of countryside around, but the site itself could do with better upkeep and the lodges werent as clean as wed hoped."

"Honestly, our stay was pretty disappointing, especially considering the price we paid. The two-bedroom setup was really cramped for a family; we were hoping for a comfy lounge to unwind in, but it was basically just the dining table or the bed - not ideal. The place advertised being dog friendly, but theres no fencing or gates, which made it quite stressful trying to relax with the dogs roaming around freely, especially near the road. The sunken hot tub was another letdown - getting in and out was awkward and felt a bit dangerous, so we only used it once. Plus, it definitely wasnt the hot tub shown in the pictures. Things didnt start well either - arriving to see a few caravans burnt out was a shock, not the nicest way to start a holiday. We seriously thought about leaving after just two days because it wasnt relaxing at all, but decided to stick it out until the end. We usually go for log cabin breaks like Forest Holidays, so we know what to expectand this definitely wasnt on par. The staff we spoke with were friendly and helpful, but honestly, the accommodation was just too small to really unwind. Not what we hoped for, sadly."
