The perfect holiday accommodation should come with plenty of little luxuries, so the Lakeside VIP lodge is a great option! Sleeping up to seven people over three bedrooms (one double with en-suite, one twin and a triple bunk room), it's ideal for large families, wh ist the open plan kitchen, living area and diner provides plenty of extra space to get together.

Enjoy the weather by relaxing outside on the veranda, where outdoor furniture and your own private hot tub are great to admire the view overlooking the lake. But if the weather turns, there's no need to worry, as Wi-Fi is included, as well as a flatscreen television with Freesat to find a film on! There's also a pet friendly version of the lakeside VIP lodge for those waiting any four-legged friend along too (for an extra charge).

The lodges at Hanworth Country Park also make a great base to come back to after a day’s exploring in Lincoln. Head to Lincoln castle, for example, home to an original 1215 Magna Carta! There's plenty to keep guests busy at The Castle; from walking the medieval Wall to exploring the towers and dungeons, to discovering the stows of the convicts who resided in the Victorian prison - Downtown Abbey and Call the Midwife fans might even recognise some areas in the prison, which was used as a filming location for both television series!

Any guests staying at the pet friendly version of the Lakeside VIP lodge should also check the Lincoln castle website ahead of their visit to find out the dates for dog friendly days at The Castle to explore history with their canine companion.

Premier VIP lodges at Hanworth country park are great for housing the whole family, and Lincoln offers plenty for them to do aside from exploring The Castle! When they need to let off some steam, why not have a go at a Lincoln

Mystery trail? Kids aged 6 and up can become detectives for the day as they work their way around Lincoln’s Cathedral quarter and solve the murder mystery! The trail pack is available to purchase and download online, and at a 1.5 mile 'loop' trail, it’s a brilliant way to explore the city and see even more places you might want to visit on your holiday! But those travelling with adults (or any brave children!) who fancy something on the more thrilling side of things, should also check out Lincoln ghost walks.

Families or groups travelling with slightly order children (ten and up) should team up for a challenge at Escape Lincoln, where everyone will have to chip in and get involved to help find the key to unlock the door to your room before your sixty minutes are up!

Whether you're a brave group wanting to try your hand at the Lincoln chainsaw massacre room or prefer the more magical side to things and choose to play the magic emporium room, it's a brilliant and unique way to spend time with friends and family. You're sure to have plenty of stories to tell when you get home!

Pat - Dec 2024
"Our Hanworth Country Park review: Our Leisure Lodge would easily be big enough for 4 people; it was designed for 6 though. I personally would find that much too cramped, especially in cold and wet weather."
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"Absolutely superb as always peaceful lakes to walk the dog around and it's no hassle fun to be on the camp site"
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"A lovely lodge, showing some wear and tear but nothing which spoilt the stay."
Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"Excellent all round"
Verified Guest - Sep 2024
"Comfortable lodge with balcony facing one of the lakes.Standard caravan like inside with one double and 2 twin rooms.Enough equipment in kitchen and fridge freezer for your supplies"
Clare - Sep 2024
"Good apart from no WiFi having to go out off premises to make work phone calls ,should be more big signs of dogs must be on lead as we had an issue with a dog not on lead even though they were told .Could do with more for children to play on . Bar could be open longer especially for food and drink .Lived the lodge only issue we had was dirty cups and plates ."
Verified Guest - Aug 2024
"Lodge clean however odd smell in bathrooms. Lodge modern and comfortable. Based on 6 people sharing it was spacious still"
Verified Guest - Jun 2024
"Well maintained, fully furnished comfortable lodge. Huge hot tub, all based in a calm, scenic environment."
Rachael - Apr 2024
"Great time had by all ! Would recommend"
Verified Guest - Feb 2024
"Hot tub was ready upon arrival, only downside was a number of the jets kept popping out.Seen on other reviews the request for enclosed tubs but I prefer the openness of them to be able to star gaze in the evening"
Ryan - Feb 2024
"Could not fault anything, we have booked to go back"
Lynda - Jan 2024
"Lovely, warm and comfortable lodge. We went for New Year and it was just lovely. A 5 minute drive to Potterhanworth where there is a lovely pub, The Chequers. Another little village, Branston is about a 7 minute drive away, there youll find a Co-op, a chinese restaurant and another pub, the Waggon and Horses. The pub on the site, The Brewers was open while we were there and the staff were lovely and friendly. 15 minutes away is Lincoln city centre, we booked taxis there and back which we very reliable. We also ordered a takeaway from a nearby pizza place! Overall a lovely break"
Claire D - Jan 2024
"Stayed for a second time over Christmas. The lodge was fab. So lovely, clean and nothing was missing at all. Unfortunately on Christmas Eve the hot tub was barely warm but the chap who was doing the daily check just said it was fine. Luckily by the night it had warmed up. There isn't a who lot around, but that's the point. Or maybe there is, we just stayed in and enjoyed the lodge and hotub."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Very clean and tidy"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Had a great time, so peaceful and relaxing. Lovely walks with our dog , wished we'd got a lodge with hot tub, definitely will next time ."
Diana - Nov 2023
"Very clean and quiet, toasty warm."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Only problem was the food served at the onsite pub/restaurant. Limited menu, poor quality, not good value for money. We had booked this site so we did not have to leave for meals however on our first visit to the restaurant having pre booked, they had run out of several items with limited alternatives. We did not return for the remainder of our stay. Chef or experienced cook required!"
Michael - Oct 2023
"Lovely place for a relaxing stay .staff excellent friendly professional."
Elizabeth - Oct 2023
"A little gem of a place so peaceful and relaxing absolutly loved every moment of our stay"
Gwawr - Oct 2023
"A nice campsite.Facilities are okay. The Staff are very helpful and friendly."
Verified Guest - Oct 2023
"The park was excellent. The staff friendly. Having 2 twin rooms for a 14 & 10 year old was great though you couldnt fit 2 adults in the twin room it was perfect for the kids"
Verified Guest - Oct 2023
"Great spot for a peaceful break, really helped us unwind."
Martin - Jan 1970
"The Plum Lodge was absolutely stunning, right by the lake which made it really peaceful. It was spotless when we arrivedand the beds were already made-such a lovely touch! We loved it."
Emma - Jan 1970
"Great spot, totally recommend it!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"We stayed in a new, high-spec lodge that was spotlessly cleanand the hot tub was fantastic! Some of the fittings, like in the kitchen, felt more like caravan stuff rather than luxury lodge quality, which was a bit disappointing. The walls were the usual caravan style with joining strips, not plastered, so it didnt quite feel premium. Bedrooms were a bit smaller than expected for a lodgeand the kitchen wasnt really fully equipped-our frying pan looked quite old. Still, we had a lovely breakand honestly, if it was cheaper, we wouldnt expect perfection!"
Emma - Jan 1970
"Really enjoyed our stay, staff were super friendly and helpful."
Emma - Jan 1970
"Amazing lodge, quiet location but close to everything you need just a short drive away"
Katie - Aug 2022
"Lovely place for a relaxing time especially with hot tubs."
Janet - Jul 2022
"Fab lodge, lovely touches with toiletries. Only pointer is that 3rd bedroom beds are quite small so really only suitable for under 5ft 5 or children"
Julie - Jul 2022
"First time there, will be going back next year. The luxury lodge is amazing"
Thomas - Jul 2022
"Couldn’t fault it. Perfectly quiet, tranquil open space. Lodges are reasonably sized and so clean. We had lovely weather, so it was nice to be sitting outside all day. Food at the cafe was lovely, staff were so friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to return in the New Year."
Bec - Jul 2022
"Hanworth Country Park is a beautiful place for a relaxing break. Very peaceful surroundings, lovely walks and excellent fishing. Lodges are well equipped and hot tubs are lovely for relaxing evenings."
Johanne - Jul 2022
"Lovely quiet park. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good base to explore Lincoln and surrounding area. Good food in Brewers bar and restaurant but only served food until 2.30 pm out of peak holiday season."
Julie - Jul 2022
"We stayed in one of the large lodges with a hot tub. And it comfortably fit all 7 of us in it. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed. The scenery and wildlife was breathtaking! Very reasonably priced too :) We’ll definitely be back for more weekend stays. :)"
Amanda - Jun 2022
"A lovely peaceful place, suitable for friends, family or couples. Also dog friendly."
Sara - May 2022
"Wonderful place. Great for fishing. Very peaceful. Staff with very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a lovely lodge with hot tub, Had a lovely meal in the bar/restaurant, very reasonable."

Attractions Near Hanworth Country Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Hanworth Country Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Rushmoor Country Park - GU10 1ET
about 24 Miles
Located in Louth in Lincolnshire this is an ideal attraction when you want to get out in the fresh air and explore. There are many animals to see including ponies and piglets which the little ones love.  There are also some amazing birds from hawks and falcons to owls.  Most aspects of this attraction are included in the admission cost and as well as wandering around you get to hold and feed the animals too.  A real highlight are the micro pigs which are just like real pigs but in miniature.  Fully grown they are around the size of a spaniel!  If you get hungry then you can take your own picnic to the picnic areas or head for the tea room selling delicious food and children's meals too.
Pleasure Island - DN35 0PL
about 30 Miles
Wow this is an amazing family theme park and you will probably need the full day to experience it all.  From thrilling rides to family shows, kids of all ages are catered for.  Some of the most popular rides include the Obliterator and The Pendulus, not forgetting the Hypoblaster.   Family shows are entertaining such as the African Acrobat Show which is back by popular demand.  Entrance tickets are good value and if you book online you will receive a discount. To save even more money if you live locally or are visiting the area for a few weeks you could buy a season ticket for around £50 which will allow you entry for the whole season.
The Jungle Zoo - NR31 9EY
about 30 Miles
Centred around a Tropical House in an amazing jungle like setting this is a really unique attraction that will appeal to families.  In the Cleethorpes area of Lincolnshire it's easy to get to and offers a fun yet educational experience.  Referred to as the number one attraction in the area highlights include capuchin monkeys, meerkats, ring tailed lemur and for the children African pygmy goats.  The tropical house features Red Eared and other Terrapins from North America and goldfish amongst other things.  We think The Jungle Zoo represents excellent value for money too.  We recommend a whole day to explore this attraction and ensure you get to see all of the animals resident there.
Natureland Seal Sanctuary - PE25 1DB
about 32 Miles
Awarded the Lincolnshire Family Attraction of the Year award in recent years this fun day out is recommended. You can see seals and penguins, as well as other animals in the popular pets corner.  Feeding time for the seals and penguins is the real highlight of the day. Entertainment, education and conservation are the main aims of this attraction. Natureland's work with abandoned baby seals has become known worldwide and it's carefully researched rearing and treatment program is now used by many other rescue centres.
Normanby Hall Country Park - DN15 9HU
about 32 Miles
Normanby Hall Country Park has a fantastically tranquil location Set in the 300 acres of Normanby Hall estate offering a relaxing choice for a family day out. The stunning grounds are abundant with wildlife as well as beautiful flora and fauna and there is no better place for a summer picnic. There is also plenty of open space for children to run around. The Deer park is sure to be a big hit with the children with herds of fallow deer to spot.
The Deep - HU1 4DP
about 38 Miles
Easily accessible from our Yorkshire Dales lodge parks is The Deep! An award-winning 'submarium', attraction, which is home to over 3500 fish from around the globe. Visitors can a stroll through Europe's deepest viewing tunnel and take a thrilling a glass lift ride through the 10m deep tank. The Deep is also home to the world's largest exhibition, featuring weird animals from the depths combined with slime! Educational talks and events take place daily so visitors can learn about the conservation projects which the centre is involved in. There is also a fantastic restaurant over looking some of the displays and a souvenir shop. Family tickets are priced at just £32.00.
Crazy Crocodiles Indoor Play & Party Centre - LL30 1DR
about 39 Miles
This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire.  With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children.  The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families.  Look out for offers on their website such as a free hot drink on select days.
