Widemouth Bay Caravan Park Reviews

"Unfortunately, the grills know was broken and the cupboard door hinge above the microwave was also faulty."
James - Apr 2025
"Really appreciated the quick fix for the heating issue, made our stay much better!"
Claire - Mar 2025
"The caravan was nice, but it wasn't as clean as we'd hoped. Moving around in the bedroom was tricky for us and the location wasnt ideal. In peak season, itd be quite loud too."
Emma Carter - Mar 2025
"We found the caravan to be pretty spacious, which was nice. The bed was comfortable and everything like the dishwasher, oven and fridge worked perfectly. The shower was a decent size too. We did have some trouble with the WiFi and a couple of lights that didnt work, plus a leak in the toilet, but overall, good value for what we paid!"
Emma Clarke - Mar 2025
"Our Widemouth Bay Caravan Park review: The caravan was really clean and had all the essentials, plus some lovely views! The only downside was after a long six and a half hour drive, making the beds was a bit of a chore. Still, we enjoyed it!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed the experience"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Overall, we found the place a bit disappointing. The smell wasnt great and the knives were pretty dull-definitely wouldnt cut butter, let alone an onion. The welcome pack was nice, but no soap and only one dishwasher tablet for the week was a pain. Towels werent provided and we had to make our own beds. The sofa was stained and dirty too. Not really what we expected."
Emily Carter - Oct 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the caravan was cosy and Dexter loved it too! Will return."
Emma - Sep 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay at the caravan. The lounge was spacious with a big sofa that comfortably sat all six of us, which was perfect. We did have to shuffle around the table since there were only four stools, but honestly, it wasnt a big deal. The shower was a highlight - really hot and refreshing and the kids didnt want to get out! The rooms offered plenty of storage, so unpacking was easy, especially since the twin rooms are a bit cosy. The double rooms en-suite was a lovely surprise and super handy. The kitchen had everything we needed - dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, oven, hob and grill. The fridge freezer was big, though its a shame there were no ice trays. We missed outdoor seating, but using camping chairs worked fine for us. Parking was always nearby and the EV charger was a bonus. All in all, a great place to stay!"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Really disappointed with the overall experience."
Emma - Aug 2024
"We had a lovely time staying in the caravan. It was spotless and there were plenty of kitchen utensils which made cooking easy. The welcome drinks and biscuits were a nice touch. Thanks so much for having us!"
Harriet - Aug 2024
"We were relieved only six of us, as the double bedroom was quite cramped."
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"Really loved most of it, just wish the bathroom was bigger."
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"We've been visiting this place for over 15 years now and honestly, it just keeps getting better. There's truly something for everyone, no matter the age. We love it!"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"Honestly, where do we even start with this place? It was a total nightmare from the moment we arrived. First off, the smell! Ive stayed in some dodgy spots before, but this one really takes the cake. The carpets and floors were so sticky and grimy, its no exaggeration to say walking barefoot was a mistake. The smell of dried urine (were pretty sure it was both dog and human) was just everywhere - its enough to give you a headache and make you feel sick. We spent hours with cleaning products we bought from B&M just to make it somewhat bearable and even then, it was only just tolerable. The furniture was really past its prime, with the plastic mattresses and curtains held together with Velcro. Its like stepping back to the late 80s or early 90s - and not in a good way. The fridge and freezer looked like theyd seen better days too and everything in the kitchen was absolutely filthy. We had to wash every dish and utensil before using them, which was a massive pain. The whole place just felt unclean and the smell clung to everything - its honestly so bad that it burns your nasal passages and sticks in your mind. On top of that, the noise level was pretty intense, especially for dogs that hate the racket. The site is set in a big dip, so walking to the beach or anywhere else takes a good 20-minute steep uphill walk. No phone signal either, which was a real pain - only way to get online was to pay for Wi-Fi. And even that came with extra costs for towels and whatnot. Honestly, we felt ripped off paying what we did for such a gross place. Health and safety? Well, were not sure how this place even got approval to open. Its definitely in need of a serious overhaul. The management team should definitely be replaced and the cleaning staff retrained - if theres anyone doing a proper job at all. Theres so much potential here, but its just not being looked after. If youre thinking of heading to the beach or exploring nearby, be prepared for a steep walk and no phone signal. Honestly, better to spend your money somewhere else, maybe further towards Bude where things are a lot more decent. We wont be coming back!"
Harriet & Tom - Jun 2024
"Comfortable, but could use some cosy touches."
Emma Carter - Jun 2024
"Good caravan overall, had all we needed. Signal was really rubbish though, made things tricky sometimes."
Emma Carter - Jun 2024
"Honestly, we wouldnt come back here. The caravan was pretty grubby and the arcade wasnt open until 5pm, which is odd during peak season. You cant get food before then either. Not great."
Emma Carter - Jun 2024
"We recently spent four nights in a lovely gold caravan and honestly, it was quite a stay! The caravan itself was really spacious and the kitchen was well equipped, which made cooking a breeze. We loved how well spaced out the vans are - it doesnt feel crowded at all. Our lounge had a huge window that looked out onto the hills, which was a lovely touch. Parking was conveniently located nearby, although you cant park right next to the caravans; instead, theres plenty of space along the parks winding roads, which was never an issue. The staff were super friendly and helpful - always happy to answer questions or offer recommendations. We took advantage of the swimming pool every day, though we did notice a brown grime ring around the tiles that definitely needs a proper clean. The water was a bit misty, which was strange, but the pool was still enjoyable. The life guard was really welcoming and even suggested a great fish and chip shop in Bude called The Mermaid - the chips there were absolutely delicious! One thing to bear in mind is that you need to book a swim slot the day before to avoid overcrowding, which worked well for us. The only downside was that theres no Wi-Fi or mobile signal in the caravans, only in the clubhouse. That was a bit frustrating, especially for our teenage son who likes to research plans and check the weather - we had to make do without internet in the evenings. We do see the point of unplugging, but its not really feasible for us long-term. The park itself is pretty, but its quite a drive to the coast if you want to walk - most of the roads nearby have no pavements, so youd need to drive. Theres an onsite shop too, but its a bit pricey. Luckily, Bude has a Morrisons, Sainsburysand Lidl, so getting groceries isnt a problem. Overall, we had a nice stay, just a few niggles here and there!"
Harriet and Sam - Apr 2024
"Great space, super comfy, would recommend"
Emma - Apr 2024
"We loved how spacious and cosy the caravan was-felt just like being at home, super clean and comfy. Definitely made our trip special!"
Rachel - Apr 2024
"Really impressed with this caravans condition."
Emma - Mar 2024
"We found the room quite tight with only three of us, barely enough space at the table and on the sofa. The bedroom door was a pain because our bed hung over it, so youd catch your toe every time! The plastic strip kept falling off and we had to fix the bathroom blind ourselves. The oven was slow and tricky to use, with the control knob not quite right. Not the most comfortable stay, honestly."
Emma - Mar 2024
"Honestly, we wouldn't bother coming back here. The caravan was decent enough, but the rest of the place just didn't impress. Parking was a nightmare and there's no WiFi unless you trek all the way to the clubhouse. Quite disappointing, really."
Emma - Nov 2023
"We had a pretty good stay overall. Sure, the place could use a bit of a spruce-up, but everything we needed was there and nothing was broken or out of order. The staff were genuinely friendly and always ready to help, which made a big difference. We spent most evenings enjoying the entertainment-bingo nights and the kids making loads of new friends. The kids' daytime activities kept them busy, even the older two (11 & 13). Food was decent and reasonably priced and despite the dull weather, we still had a nice time. Would go back!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed our first visit, will definitely come back!"
Emma Clarke - Nov 2023

"All good . But one think not good about Wi-FI an network not going"
Denis - Jul 2022
"what an amazing place, the site the staff the entertainment team absolutely brilliant, we didn't want to leave, and can't wait to book again! our caravan was spotless and had everything you need, can not wait to see the hot tub option next year, how exciting! the pool was lovely, but bookings a bit of a pain when you just want to roam the area and luve by the moment, but when we fancied a dip we just drove the 3 min drive to the absolutely stunning widemouth bay! I've never really been interested in North Cornwall before or really travelled to South, but I have to say this area and site completely changed my mind, so much to explore and do, we can't wait to go again. can't wait to recommend it to everyone! thank you yo stripey Heather and the stripey team for making Sydney feel included and giving her amazing memories ?"
