Driftwood Coastal Retreat Reviews

Jane - Nov 2024
The Lodge was really well situated for days out, well furnished, the hot tub was relaxing and ideal on a cold wet evening as it was partially undercover, the hamper was a lovely touch, the Pub food was fantastic. We went early November and found that most of the restaurants and Take aways closed on a Tuesday including the Pub on site but we had greRead moreat few days away. Hide

Loved it, the lodge was idyllic and set in gorgeous natural surroundings. The hot tub was always a perfect end to a day of sight seeing, lovely wind down together with the Welcome Basket containg fizz and a beer. Perfect. Could not fault this accommodation.

This lodge / cottage is outstanding. Very well kept and everything you need is catered for in the property. The location is fantastic for walks on the beach or nearby forests. We had a great holiday with our wee dog Ernie who loved all the walks.
Margaret - Sep 2024
Excellent lodge and location, really cosy and private. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. Very dog friendly location, literally nextdoor to The Beagle Country Inn which serves excellent food and only 10 minutes walk from a lovely sandy beach.
Vicky - Aug 2024
Beautifully appointed lodge with everything you could possibly need. All the furnishings were stylish and new, the beds super comfy and the whole lodge spotlessly clean. We loved the thoughtfulness of the owners who kindly provided a welcome basket to get us started. Located at the edge of the site with woodland views and lots of birdlife. Linda - May 2024
Lovely lodge in lovely location. Had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds. Great to have choice of places to sit outside. Didnt realise it was located on a complex but so well spaced and quiet that it didnt matter at all. Even had badgers and foxes to watch. Loved this area of Scotland and will be back. Thank you.

Fantastic, relaxing break. Location was perfect, very quiet but with the option of the pub 50 yards away for food, drink or quiz. 10 min walk to the beach, lots of rabbits to see and beautiful views. Would recommend it particularly for families with dogs

Attractions Near Driftwood Coastal Retreat

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Driftwood Coastal Retreat. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Castle Douglas - DG7 1TJ
about 9 Miles
We also recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and the Treasure Hunt Treasure Trails. These treasure hunts are great fun for the whole family and are an entertaining way to explore a new town or village. Children will enjoy solving the clues whilst learning about the history of the area. The walking trail is suitable for wheelchair users and those with pushchairs so no one is left out of the fun.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 11 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Laggan Outdoor - DG7 3NQ
about 21 Miles

An outdoor activity center suitable for families. Featuring one of Europe's longest zip wires, jeep driving, grass sledging, archery, outdoor scooters. A mix of fun and adreneline rides and a lot more.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 31 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 38 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
