Landal Gwel an Mor Reviews

"Fantastic lodge with a beautiful view and welcome goodies were appreciated. The few problems with the lodge were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The only gripe was our lodge wasnt ready and had to wait 40 minutes after check in time."
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"Lovely, very clean. You would never know that a bog had been in there except the bedroom slept of dog wee. Little things missing, tv remote in bedroom, hairdryer. Tv in living room slow. But the kitchen had everything and more.Lovely little welcome pack, milk, butter, apples, water, a fruit loaf, tea, coffee and biscuits."
Stephanie - Feb 2025
"The lodge looked lovely and was very clean, but we were disappointed with the hot tub, which we had expected to use more. Also, you could hear every footstep in the living area when sleeping below!"
Verified Guest - Feb 2025
"Beautiful well kitted out lodge. Far larger than expected and as shown in the pictures. Lodge slightly warn in places but very comfortable and cosy feel. Pet friendly lodge had a lot of evidence of previous pets (stains on carpet, sofa).Overall fantastic stay and would definitely return and recommend."
Verified Guest - Jan 2025
"Our Landal Gwel an Mor review: The lodge is just a little run down. The cleaning wasnt great and we had to wait for the lodge to be ready. The mattresses are too soft. The sofa is comfortable though."
Gemma - Jan 2025
"Spacious, well-designed, definitely our favourite place so far!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was just perfect. Cheers!"
Oliver - Oct 2024
"We really liked the new furniture in the lodge; its much sturdier and looks smarter. The best part was getting two dishwasher tablets, which was perfect for our three-night trip. Definitely a welcome touch!"
Alex - Oct 2024
"We've stayed here a few times and love the location, but this visit was a bit disappointing. The lodges seem a little worn out, fridge needs replacing and the bathroom fixtures could do with an update. Still, we enjoy the area!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Great quality, highly recommended"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Comfortable stay, would return"
Emma - Sep 2024
"The holiday lodge looked promising but was a letdown. Although the towels and sheets were clean, we found long black hairs in the bedding, on the floor and in the en-suite bathroom-really disappointing!"
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"The place looked a bit worn out and the bathroom had a persistent drain smell all week, unfortunately."
Emma Carter - Sep 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the staff made us feel welcome."
Jamie - Aug 2024
"The lodge was cosy and clean, though a tad worn out. Perfect for a long weekend getaway, we really enjoyed our stay despite some tired touches."
Emma - Aug 2024
"The lodge was spotless and beautifully finished. The kitchen had everything we needed, which was great. Had a little trouble with the TV, but it was fixed really quickly when we reported it. Overall, pretty happy with our stay!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"We stayed at this lodge recently and really enjoyed it. Its spacious enough for a family of six, so everyone had their own space. The hot tub was a highlight and everything was super clean. The welcome pack and robes were a lovely touch!"
Emma - Jul 2024
"Could definitely use a fresh coat of paint."
Samira Collins - Jun 2024
"We stayed at the lodge recently and honestly, it was a bit disappointing. The place could really do with a proper deep clean - dust on the headboards and stains on the sofa werent what we expected. The toilet had a terrible smell that kept us awake and the small room had a persistent musky odour even after spraying. The hot tub rings kept falling off and the electrics kept tripping, so we had to reset the fuse box a few times. We did appreciate the staff being friendly and helpful and the kids loved it though. Still, not quite what we hoped for."
Harriet Collins - Jun 2024
"We had such a lovely holiday! The location was stunning and our lodge was really cosy with amazing sea views. Our dog loved the outdoor space - the groundfloor decking was just right, no worries about her jumping over. We did have some WiFi trouble, but that was down to a new supplier. Definitely planning to return!"
Emily - May 2024
"We really enjoyed our visit with the family."
Oliver - Apr 2024
"Lovely stay, would come again"
Charlie - Apr 2024
"Great, would return"
Emma Carter - Mar 2024
"We stayed at the lodge recently and it was spot on! From the moment we arrived, it was super clean and cosy, plus the welcome pack was a nice touch. The dog washing station near the spa was a lifesaver for our muddy pup and he loved having the balcony to watch the world go by. The kitchen had everything we needed-fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine-and the views out to sea at night were simply stunning. Definitely a place wed come back to!"
Emily Carter - Mar 2024
"We stayed in a Scandinavian Lodge for four nights in February. Honestly, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. When we arrived, we noticed a stain on the bed sheet, which was pretty off-putting. It took us three visits to reception over two days to finally get it sorted out and even then, we had to insist on a new sheet ourselves-really frustrating! The lodges themselves seem quite old and in need of a refresh; they look tired and could do with some sprucing up. The cleanliness wasnt great either-cobwebs in the corners of the main bedroom and dirty handprints on the glass doors in the living room. The carpets looked like they could do with a good clean and the sofas have definitely seen better days. On the plus side, the location is fantastic-close to the beach with lovely walking routes in all directions, whether coast, woodland, or fields. The facilities are decent when theyre open, but honestly, I wouldnt pay the high season rates for these lodges-theyre not worth it. Maybe the newer lodges over the other side are better? Still, the parks location is definitely a highlight!"
Emily Carter - Feb 2024
"We had a lovely time at the resort, the location is really nice and the facilities are top-notch. The pool and restaurant both exceeded our expectations, which was great. Our lodge was comfortable, though it did seem a bit worn compared to our last visit a couple of years ago - I guess it was still pretty new then. It was quite chilly inside and we found small annoyances like nowhere to hang our coats. Overall, though, its a great spot and wed definitely return!"
James - Feb 2024
"We recently had the pleasure of staying at Gwel an Mor over Christmas and honestly, it was such a lovely experience. The lodge we stayed in, H23, was perfect - completely private with no other lodges overlooking us and it offered stunning views. It was spotlessly clean and modern, with some great tech features. The double oven was a real bonus for cooking our Christmas dinner and we loved how the sound system connected seamlessly to the TV - really handy. The hot tub was definitely a highlight; being able to step out of the bedroom straight into it made it feel extra special. The resort itself is beautifully situated with plenty of gorgeous coves nearby and Portreath Beach is just a short walk away, which we enjoyed exploring. The Christmas Eve party in the soft play was a hit with our kids aged 4 and 5 and they loved the sensory-friendly play park and the quiet pool facilities. Its clear that a lot of thought has gone into making the whole place family-friendly and relaxing. We also appreciated the little touches like the Christmas tree in the lodge - it definitely saved us some hassle. The customer service was top-notch - we received a couple of calls from reception just to check everything was okay, which we thought was a really nice gesture. Overall, the staff couldnt have been more helpful and friendly. The only real downside for us was the cost of soft play entry; at £17 each time, it felt a bit steep considering we paid quite a bit for the holiday. It wouldve been nice if some free visits were included or at least a couple of complimentary entries. Also, a little info sheet upon arrival about opening times for the wildlife area and pool would have been helpful, as we werent sure when everything was available. But honestly, I wouldnt let that put you off - wed give it a solid 9 out of 10! The eco lodges are definitely worth splashing out a bit extra on, especially if youre after a luxury stay. Were already talking about coming back next Christmas if we can find a good deal - cant recommend it enough!"
Ella - Jan 2024
"The locations great, just a short walk to Portreath and the staff are really friendly which we appreciated. Sadly, the lodge itself was a bit run down and didnt feel worth the price we paid at all."
James - Nov 2023
"We stayed in two lodges that honestly needed quite a bit of TLC. The bedroom door wouldnt shut properly and there was a missing barrel from the ensuite door, so we couldnt lock it. The shower screen wouldnt fit over the bath, which led to quite a bit of water on the floor during showers. The sink had a leak too and when maintenance came to fix it, it still didnt stop the floor from getting wet. The bathroom window was just plain clear glass, which was a bit awkward since we had to keep the blind down all the time. Outside furniture was covered in green mould, which wasnt very inviting. We reported everything, but repairs took ages and some things still werent sorted, so my husband ended up fixing a few issues himself - not ideal when youre supposed to be relaxing. When I mentioned the clear glass, the response was just a quick oh sorry, which felt a bit dismissive. Honestly, the outside of the lodges looked neglected and could really do with a fresh coat of paint!"
Emma - Nov 2023
"We loved how the lodge suited all four generations of our family, plus our dogs! Everyone had their own space, it was spotless and the scenery was stunning. Honestly, theres nothing we didnt enjoy about it."
Sarah - Jul 2023
"Amazing place ! Great value for money. Lovely lodge!"
Lauren - Jul 2022
"Brilliant place loved everything about it ."
Davina - Jul 2022
"Amazing stay. Will definitly go back again"
Brenna - Jul 2022
"We had a lovely 4 days, we got a text to say we could arrive early has the lodge was ready. The staff were very friendly and helpful anything you needed they were there in 5 minutes. Second visit will go again and stay longer next time."
Christine - Jul 2022
"The holiday was amazing, went there and stayed in the lakeside lodge for 3 nights. It was great, had someone checking the hot tub PH everyday, staff were really helpful and lovely to speak to. The bar/ restaurant was really good too, smaller than I expected but that was no issue at all. Really amazing place and lovely staff"
Josh - Jul 2022
"Had a lovely time. The lodge was fantastic. It would have been a 10 it is just a shame that they do not brush away all the cobwebs on the decking which have been there for quite some time. All the staff provided excellent customer service. The spa treatment was one of the best i’ve had. Overall a great experience."
Sarah - Jul 2022
"Excellent site and accommodation"
Judith - Jul 2022
"Lovely holiday, great location, we have been twice now, will go again sometime."
Peter - Jul 2022
"Lovely, spacious lodge on a well kept, quiet site. Quality amenities especially very warm swimming pool. Professional, friendly staff. A great family holiday!"
Louisa - Jul 2022
"The only thing I would suggest is that the site could do with a little shop , it’s quite a walk ( downhill , up in way back ) to any kind of place you could get soft drink or snacks that doesn’t involve the prices in the restaurant bar Lovely relaxing location , gorgeous accommodation and helpful friendly staff My only negative was whilst I appreciate we were staying around the fishing lake and so there would be people around using this I would suggest those that pay to camp at the lake overnight are asked not to set themselves up directly outside occupied lodges My daughter and I had a man set up his tent about 10 meters from our front door and he was there for 24 hours , this made us uncomfortable to be out on the patio ( especially when using the hot tub ) and made me very security conscious overnight , there was plenty of other places around the lake he could have set up"
