This cedar-clad converted barn sits on the edge of the Quantock Hills AONB and has some jaw-dropping views across the Somerset Levels. Upon arrival the property looks even better than in the pictures. There's plenty of parking, large decking area around the property with gravel and grass areas plus a large covered porch structure. After a 4 hour journey it was a dream to pull up to our next home for 7 nights. Right from the off karen was fantastic. It was by far the best English break we had. The hot tub was a dream under the stars. And our dog arnie was in his element living his best life. We had a beautiful walk everyday. I would recommend sheapards linhay to anyone. Wow! What can I say? This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in by far! The cottage has wonderful views and is well designed and thought out for all your needs. Just the most perfect location. Everything is top quality. The garden is secure which allowed our dog to zoom around. Lovely walks. 5 mins drive to pub/shop if you dont fancy walking. So clean on arrival. So relaxing.

We found it easily with the directions provided. The garden was very secure for the dog. It was lovely to sit in the hot tub on a beautiful warm evening. Cleanliness was outstanding. Shepherds Linhay is the perfect and romantic getaway, peaceful, private and quiet. The host, Karen was very helpful and friendly and respectful of our privacy. Fantastic location for a peaceful holiday. We really enjoyed making use of the hot tub and the the Maypole Inn pub served excellent food worth the half an hours walk away! A lovely little cottage and ideal for those wanting a quiet break. We went there with relaxation first and foremost in mind after a very hectic month or so at work, this cottage is ideal for such a purpose, but also a handy base for sightseeing around Somerset or the North Devon coast. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and understanding with regards to our dog's anxiety issues. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

Our week here was everything we needed.A quiet and secluded location, with plenty of walks nearby and a totally enclosed garden for our dog to roam around. We absolutely loved our stay here. Karen showed us round on arrival and explained the hot tub along with other gadgets. We felt at home straight away with how cosy the place was. The views are stunning and the property is well kitted out with everything we needed, logs, velvetiser and plenty of cooking equipment. Hands down the best place we have stayed. We had the most amazing week, our host Karen was fantastic. The accommodation was clean, beautifully designed and so peaceful. We were greeted by Karen, the host on arrival after we had settled in, which was very welcoming! The location is absolutely breathtaking, the views are stunning, there is no noise at all which is so relaxing! Lovely location, the most fantastic views with everything provided for a relaxing stay. The building is just lovely, furnished beautifully with handmade and original features, linked to the land and area. Karen and her daughter, Kelsie, welcomed us on arrival and told us about local dog walks and how the hot tub worked. We used it several times, ta king in the views. Complimentary eggs, fresh from the farm hens, were delicious poached for breakfast. Thank you Karen & Simon, we will return soon.

What a gem of a property, so peaceful and relaxing. Very tastefully decorated, wonderful to sit on the decking with views across the fields. The property is very private and quiet, so you can switch off from the world. Easy access to many places to explore, and also dog walks straight from the property. There are also educational shows to see including Milking Show and the twice daily Bottle Feeding Show.

This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.

This wonderful attraction in Gloucestershire will appeal to animal lovers as you will have the chance to see the fantastic work going on and meet the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys.  This place is funded entirely through public donations and they rely on these vital funds.  Kids will love the play barn and straw den where they can run off some energy.  New for 2010 is the Aerial Runway with Jungle Climber.
Bristol Aquarium - BS1 5TT

The Blue Reef Aquarium and IMAX 3D Cinema is located in Bristol and makes a great fun family day out.  The newest attraction in the region it's an experience not to be missed.  More than 7000 animals are resident in naturally themed habitats and you can enjoy wandering around looking at the 40 displays. Highlights include the giant octopus and the cute seahorses. The IMAX 3D cinema system is fantastic - you will feel like you are swimming along with the animals.
Longleat Safari and Adventure Park - BA12 7NW

You may have seen this amazing attraction on the BBC1 Animal Park programme.  This is actually the first safari park outside of Africa where you can get close to the animals from the comfort of your own car. Some of the highlights include the zebras, the wallabies in wallaby wood and the sea lion escorted cruise to Gorilla Island.  And of course the magnificent lions and tigers are a must see.  This really is an animal experience with a difference and you can save money by booking your tickets online.  This attraction is open until the end of October. This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park - DT2 8PY

Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
