Nestled away in the heart of East Devon countryside are the Lakeview Manor lodges, where guests will find a warm welcome with on-site facilities and luxurious lodges aplenty! Set within forty-five acres of country manor house and hotel land in Dunkeswell, there's plenty of beautiful views to enjoy, whist the historic market town of Honiton is just a five-minute drive away. So, get the family together and see what a gorgeous retreat in Devon can offer you and your loved ones!

Keen fishermen and aspiring anglers will love to make use of the two well- stocked fishing lakes on-site, perfect for getting some practice in on holiday (or teaching the others a fishing trick or two!), but if you don't manage to get a catch, the on-site restaurant and bar are really handy to have nearby.

About Lakeview Manor Lodges

Whist the kitchens within each respective lodge are contemporary and beautiful decorated, we all have our moments on holiday where we'd rather not get out all the pots and pans, and just simply let someone else do the work for us, so it’s worth having a look at the menu! Enjoy lunch or dinner overlooking the lake and gardens before heading back to your lodge for some after-dinner drinks.

Aside from the kitchens (located within a large open plan dining and living area) the lodges within Lakeview Manor have plenty more to offer inside and out. Families and groups will appreciate the space offered by the Lakeview lodge, which sleeps up to four people over two bedrooms. Admire the lake views from the comfort of your own private veranda, complete with furniture and sunken outdoor hot tub! With two pets allowed, it’s perfect for those wanting to bring everyone along.

The Waterside lodge is equally ideal, accommodating up to four guests over two bedrooms. Like the Waterside lodge, there's still plenty of room for everyone in the open plan kitchen, diner and living area, as well as veranda with sunken hot tub to wind down in. And with one pet allowed free of charge at the Waterside Lodge too, what’s not to love!

Whoever, you might be travelling with – whether younger family members or simply a group of old friends, Wildwood is a great day out for anyone young at heart, and is just a twenty to thirty minute drive away. This network of woodland trails is home to a wide variety of British animals and wildlife, such as wolves, lynx, and wildcats. Loose yourself in the huge maze before letting the kids blow off steam in the play area... Or take a ride down the long 40-meter zip wire if they're feeling courageous! Top the day all with a slice of cake in the coach House café before returning to Lakeview Manor.

Car enthusiasts, or anyone looking for a day out with a difference will love an adventure out at the Land Rover Experience in nearby Honiton, where guests have the chance to test their skills over the 35-acre off-road course. Dedicated drivers might like to book a heritage drive to experience four different vehicles from the last seventy years of Land Rover’s history. Or if the budding driver of your family is still a little too young to get their license, book a young off-roader day, where 11–17-year-olds can take the wheel and take a trip around the agility course before tackling steep slopes, deep water driving and plenty more! Everyone is sure to have something to talk about when they get home.

Lakeview Manor Lodges Reviews

"The lodge was spotless and set in beautiful surroundings, really peaceful. The staff? Absolutely lovely and always ready to help. We enjoyed the restaurant, too-really nice food and a cosy vibe. Definitely a place wed visit again; the staff made us feel so welcome, it was great!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Honestly, we were pretty disappointed. The hot tub was lukewarm at best, which totally ruined our weekend. Plus, the false panels meant we couldnt even change the temperature easily, despite being told its not a legal thing at 35 degrees. The kitchen lacked basic utensils and no hangers in the wardrobe-just not what we expected for a hot tub getaway. Such a letdown."
Emma Roberts - Mar 2025
"We had such a lovely weekend at these cabins! The scenery is stunning, really peaceful and perfect for a girls' getaway. The cabins are well-equipped and feel really cosy, with everything you might need. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. What stood out most was how fresh everything smelled-like they really pay attention to detail. My only small gripe is about the cleanliness on the sofas; we did notice some dog hairs, which suggests previous guests might have had dogs. Maybe adding a sign asking guests to cover the furniture or using steam cleaners would help. Still, overall, a really great experience-would definitely come back!"
Amelia - Mar 2025
"We had a really lovely stay at this lodge. Its beautifully decorated and super cosy, which made us feel right at home. The place was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfy break. The full kitchen was a big plus since I love baking and cooking, so we really appreciated the space. The bed in the main bedroom was incredibly comfy and I fell in love with the sofas and that green armchair-been dreaming of finding one for our place! The views over the lake are stunning, so peaceful and surrounded by nature. Definitely recommend!"
Emma & Luke - Feb 2025
"Our Lakeview Manor Lodges review: Nice weekend"
Jamie - Feb 2025
"Great stay, would recommend"
Jess - Feb 2025
"We recently spent four lovely nights at this charming two-bedroom lodge with a hot tub, perfect for our girls trip. Staying with a friend and our two dogs, we loved how peaceful and scenic the area was - really tranquil and just what we needed. The staff we met were genuinely friendly and couldnt have been more helpful, which made the whole experience even better. We dined at the on-site restaurant one evening and the food was really tasty, plus the prices were quite reasonable given the remote location. It was great that the entire place was dog-friendly, including the bar and restaurant, so we didnt have to leave our pups behind. The only thing we thought might improve things would be a small shop on-site - with the weather being a bit naff and the location quite remote, having somewhere nearby to grab essentials wouldve been handy. All in all, we couldnt fault our stay or the staff and weve already recommended it to friends and family. Well definitely return!"
Emma Carter - Feb 2025
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was stunning and the hot tub a lovely touch."
Emily Carter - Jan 2025
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was surprisingly spacious and had pretty much everything we needed for a comfortable break. The little touches, like dog treats and a ball waiting for us when we arrived, were a lovely surprise. The welcome pack with milk, tea, coffee and washing-up liquid was much appreciated - it made settling in much easier. We also found plenty of towels and robes for the hot tub, which was great. The lodge was generally clean, though we did notice some dust and dog hair under the sofa, plus a few cobwebs in the bedrooms. The bathrooms had some hair and dust on the floors too. The on-site restaurant was quite good; we enjoyed both the evening meal and Sunday lunch. The only thing that could be improved is the path from the lodges to the restaurant, which isnt very well lit at night. Overall, a really good stay and wed happily come back!"
Emily - Jan 2025
"Needs to warm up more, sadly."
Emma Turner - Jan 2025
"Really enjoyed staying here, its a lovely spot with all the essentials. Very clean and comfy too."
Emma - Dec 2024
"We stayed in Lodge 58 and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The place was spotless, super warm and the TV had Prime which was a nice touch. Staff were genuinely friendly and the food was top notch. We've already booked for next December!"
Emma - Dec 2024
"We stayed in this place recently and it really hit the spot after a long drive. The two bedrooms plus sofa bed suited us perfectly and having two bathrooms was a bonus. The hot tub was lovely and the welcome pack with tea, coffee and doggy treats made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend!"
Emma - Dec 2024
"Great weekend stay, really enjoyed the lodge and the hot tub! Honestly, brilliant experience."
Emma - Nov 2024
"Great spot for exploring East Devon, nice and peaceful."
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"Weve stayed at Lakeview Manor twice now and honestly, its a lovely place. The surroundings are stunning and the accommodation is top-notch. The staff are super friendly, which makes a big difference. The only real issue was the onsite pub; it was short-staffed when we visited, so service was a bit slow and one person was juggling bookings and drinks. Oh and the hot tub isnt really hot - more like a warm bath and after a half hour, youre freezing again. Weve mentioned it before and apparently, its due to insurance rules. Still, wed go back!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"We recently stayed at this dog-friendly lodge and honestly, it ticked all the boxes. The hot tub was spotless and the staff were lovely. Would recommend!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"The lodge was beautifully furnished and spotless, really high standard. Only downside was no outdoor space to hang wet coats when it rained, which was a bit of a pain."
Emma - Sep 2024
"We recently stayed at these lodges and honestly, theyre really lovely. The space is generous and everythings well looked after. The hot tubs are checked twice daily, which is reassuring. The setting is so peaceful, right near lakes and ponds - perfect for fishing if youre into that. One thing to mention is the privacy; the hot tubs and lodges are a bit exposed since you can see into other places and the hot tubs sit at the front, so not much seclusion. Theyve planted some trees, but theyre still small, so hopefully theyll offer more privacy soon. The check-in time at 5pm felt a bit late, especially since our lodge wasnt ready when we arrived and we had to wait around a bit, which was slightly frustrating after a long journey. Also, checkout at 9am is quite early compared to other places, but overall, we had a good stay!"
Emma Roberts - Sep 2024
"Overall, our stay was quite enjoyable, though there were a few things that could be improved. The lodge was clean and comfy, especially that big sofa which made movie nights perfect! However, we did notice quite a bit of dust inside the lamp shades, which was a bit disappointing given the price. Also, a few kitchen essentials were missing and it wouldve been nice to have bigger glasses for the adults. Still, it didnt ruin our holiday and we had a fantastic time!"
Oliver - Aug 2024
"Very comfortable stay"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"We had a fantastic time! The lodges were comfy and exploring around the lake was lovely, especially with our dog. We're already planning our return trip!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"We loved this place! The cabins are cosy with stunning views and the pub's charm is perfect for family nights. Definitely a lovely spot to unwind after exploring Devon."
Rachel - Aug 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was massive and super clean, perfect for our group of six plus three dogs. Beds were comfy, which was great. Only downside was it got pretty warm inside due to all the windows, no aircon to cool down. Still, a lovely place!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The views from the decking are lovely and the layout with bedrooms on each side works well. Plenty of storage and spacious bathrooms made it super comfortable. Just the beds were a bit firm for us, but overall, a peaceful and nice spot!"
Emma Carter - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was spotless and looked after beautifully. Would return!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"Beautiful spot, perfect for nature lovers, well looked after."
Emma - Aug 2024
"We had a really lovely, relaxing stay here. The staff were super helpful and always polite, which made everything so much easier. The lodge was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had all the facilities we needed - plenty of space for the six of us. One tiny gripe was that there werent enough cutlery and crockery items at times; we kept waiting for the dishwasher to finish so we could use everything again. The food at the restaurant was tasty and good value, definitely worth a try. The hot tub was checked twice daily and although the water was kept low, it was still enjoyable - jets could be a bit stronger, but it was fine. During our stay, the water did turn a bit green once, but as soon as we mentioned it, they sorted it out immediately. The grounds are stunning and immaculately kept. All in all, a really lovely experience!"
Emily Carter - Aug 2024
"We had another lovely stay at Lakeview Manor with the family and pups. The lodge was spotless and really well looked after. The manageress was super helpful before and during our visit. Cant wait to come back!"
Rachel Turner - Jul 2024
"We just got back from a week at Lakeside Manor and honestly, it was a bit of a mixed bag. First off, the drive down the single track road isnt great, but once you arrive, the park itself is really tidy and well-kept. Checking in was straightforward, although there's only space for one car, so if youve got more, youll need to park elsewhere as directed. The lodges look nice, but theyre not quite the luxury we expected based on the adverts. Theyve got everything you need, including an iron and board, but the beds are genuinely poor quality - felt every spring and the base when you sat or lay down. WiFi was pretty useless too, very patchy. The fishing spot is overgrown with lilies, so not great for fishing. Its quiet at times, but the constant noise from small planes from the nearby airfield really spoils the peace. Honestly, wed probably choose Clawford Lakes instead next time."

Neil - Jul 2022

Kiearnie - Jul 2022
"Just had a 5 day break here, which was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We had no pets but a 3.5 year old, who settled really quickly and loved her room. The staff were so helpful, especially Sarah, who my daughter is still asking to see again. We wanted a quiet break, so no phone signal was perfect, good (secure) wifi if required and the Dabbling Duck was a god send after a full day The cabin was fully stocked with everything you need and was extremely clean, with loads of storage space. We will be back Paul"

"The most luxurious lodge we have ever stayed. Five stars."
Verified Guest - Jul 2022
"Probably one of the best accommodations I have ever stayed in. The lodge was so beautiful - every little thing was catered for - even down to a torch for those late night walks to the great bar and restaurant. We stayed in a Brook View lodge - not so much a view as a sound - but very relaxing and secluded. The hot tub was amazing - and fluffy robes were provided too. I could have easily stayed for a month!"

"Excellent location with a gorgeous lodge which was clean and spacious only thing missing was a TV in the bedroom and hooks on the back of doors (could use the sticky hooks)"
Gaynor - Jul 2022
"Beautiful and quiet… staff was lovely"
Louisa - Jul 2022
"Very relaxing and great setting, bar, and staff. The only downside for us was the late check-in and early check-out times, as this effectively cuts an entire day off the holiday. We appreciate that the hot tub etc. requires maintenance, but a more typical 3pm check-in and 10/11am check-out would be much more convenient."

"The lodges are set in beautiful surroundings and the lodges themselves are modern with everything you’d need to make you feel right at home. Me and my wife will be definitely coming back"
Lewis - Jun 2022
"Beautiful setting, very peaceful. Lodge was comfortable and well stocked kitchen, lots of crockery and backing trays bit like being at home. Only thing is you need to drive as 25 minutes away from Honiton and 30 minutes to Sidmouth"
