Riverside Leisure Park Reviews

"Mud tracking inside was a bit of a pain, honestly."
Jamie Collins - Apr 2025
"Seating was a bit of a headache."
Emma - Mar 2025
"Clean, organised and well-made unit. Nice!"
Alex - Mar 2025
"The caravan was pretty roomy and mostly tidy, but we did notice some cushions hadn't been taken off during cleaning - pens and food were still underneath. Apart from that, we didnt have any other issues with the place."
Emma - Mar 2025
"Our Riverside Leisure Park review: Overall, we found the place quite tidy and comfortable. The kitchen stuff was a bit random and there were a few marks on the furniture, but nothing too surprising. Would stay again!"
Emma Blake - Feb 2025
"We loved the overall feel of the place - spacious and cosy, perfect for a relaxing break. That said, it could do with a bit of TLC; the woodwork around the cabin was rotting and had a hole, plus it was covered in dry leaves that hadnt been cleared. The sofas looked quite worn and could use a good clean or replacing. Also, the dining chairs had rips and the bathroom option was a bit misleading since it only had a bath, not a shower. Still, we enjoyed our stay!"
Charlotte - Feb 2025
"We recently rented several caravans and found them to be more spacious than the pictures suggested. The extra toilet in all 7 units was a big plus for our family of 4-6, making things much easier. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful-both over the phone and in person. The caretaker lady was particularly polite and professional, which we appreciated. The security on-site was really accommodating too; they went out of their way to help us with extra requests, no fuss at all. Also, the cleaning lady was super patient during check-out, even when we asked for an hour longer-she was always smiling, which made everything so much better. Overall, we had a great stay!"
Charlie Edwards - Dec 2024
"Really pleased with the service"
Alex Turner - Nov 2024
"We stayed in this lovely caravan and loved how spacious and spotlessly clean it was. The beds were super comfy and the shower had great pressure. Only thing missing was a DVD player-wouldve been perfect. Wifi was a bit of a pain to access, though."
Emma - Nov 2024
"Overall, we found the caravan to be quite clean and well-equipped, which was great. That said, there were a few little issues that did bother us a bit. The toilet door wouldnt open from the inside and the shower pipe was broken, so the water barely dribbled. Nothing too major, but it did make us feel like the place needed a bit of a refresh. Weve stayed here before and it did seem like the maintenance wasnt quite up to scratch this time around. Still, its a decent spot for a break."
James - Nov 2024
"We booked this place for our birthday and honestly, it was brilliant! The location is stunning and the vans are really spacious with everything you might need - towels, cutlery, bedding, even frying pans. The large fridge freezer was a bonus and theres an iron and hairdryer too. Parking right next to the vans fits two cars easily, which was handy. The real highlight though is the ducks wandering around, they add such a charming touch. Plus, having access to the swimming pool and hot tub (booking in advance) makes it even better. Everything was well looked after, well definitely be coming back!"
James - Nov 2024
"Overall, we had a decent stay, especially considering how affordable it was. The main issue was the mattress - honestly, it felt like sleeping on a bed of nails at first. We did mention it to reception, but they didnt follow up, so on the second night, we just flipped it over ourselves, which helped a bit. When the cleaning staff came by to drop off fresh linen, we mentioned the mattress again and he was quite apologetic, saying he hadnt been told about the problem. Despite that, it was a good value for the price and a mostly pleasant stay."
Emma - Oct 2024
"Great spot with plenty to do, perfect for everyone exploring Northumberland!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"Really pleased with it, no issues at all."
Sam - Oct 2024
"Nice size caravan, great spot and it was really clean too. We loved it!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We stayed in this caravan and honestly, it surprised us! For the price, it was way better than we thought itd be. Everything was spotless and in great shape. The fridge and freezer were pretty roomy and the oven worked like a charm. The bathroom was a decent size with a powerful shower, which was lovely. Beds were comfy, though some extra wardrobe space in the bedroom wouldve been handy. Still, we had a great stay!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"The caravan looked great online, but we were disappointed to find dog hair everywhere-on the couch, carpets and in the bedrooms. Not what we expected!"
Emma Carter - Oct 2024
"We've stayed here before and its clear this lodge is a bit older, but its still comfy and well-equipped. All the appliances youd need were there and the heating kept us cosy during those chilly nights - loving that you can switch it off when you dont need it! The staff on-site were really friendly and quick to help; they even brought us extra towels without any fuss. Wooler itself is a lovely little town within walking distance, with some great spots to eat - we especially enjoyed the Italian place, plus theres a Chinese and fish & chips too. Perfect base for exploring Morpeth, Berwick and Alnwick. Would definitely come back!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"Overall, the Ivy Caravan 2 worked well for us as a family of four over four nights. Its quite practical and comfy, though we did wish there were sockets by the bedside cabinets. Still, good stay!"
Mark - Oct 2024
"We found the caravan to be lovely, bright and really spacious. The beds were super comfy and it felt well equipped overall. Great value for money too and the shower had excellent water pressure. Wed definitely stay again!"
Emma - Oct 2024
"We had a lovely stay, very relaxing weekend."
Emily Carter - Sep 2024
"Great spot for a few days exploring Northumberland. The place was really comfy and spotless throughout. Would stay again!"
Dave - Aug 2024
"The place was pretty comfy and mostly clean, just a few dusty headboards that didnt bother us much. Great location for parks!"
Emma - Aug 2024
"Really enjoyed the stay, the lodge was spotless and the hot tub excellent."
Emma Roberts - Jul 2024
"Overall, we had a decent stay. The caravan was spacious and there was plenty of outdoor area to enjoy. Its a shame it didnt come with decking, especially when the sun was shining-it would've been perfect. The main gripe is that it wasnt thoroughly cleaned; there were crumbs and marks on the tables, which was a bit off. Also, a few basic gadgets like a cheese grater and a square oven dish were missing. Nothing major, but worth noting!"
Rachel - Jul 2024
"Very comfortable and well kept caravan."
Emma Carter - Jun 2024
"We had a brilliant stay! The place is super cosy and the outdoor seating is perfect for relaxing."
Emma - Jun 2024
"A fantastic break. Our caravan was in the new part of the park and was immaculately clean. Wi-Fi was very weak which meant we had a complete break from technology??."
Duncan - Aug 2022
"Amazing holiday will Defintely re book"
Callum - Jul 2022
"This was a beautiful site, the caravan was so clean and little touches of soaps and shower gels and shampoo was really nice. The standard of accommodation was excellent, modern and very comfortable. Customer service was also really good, nothing was a bother and first night we arrived a member of staff came to the caravan to check everything was okay. The bed linen was pristine and excellent quality as were the towels. The pool was great and the gentleman that was running it was really helpful and friendly. The only little suggestion would be a little longer than 45 minutes a day session in the pool, we would have happily paid extra for a pool pass. Other than that the whole holiday was a relaxing in gorgeous surroundings with friendly and professional staff."
Sarah - Jul 2022
"Was very welcoming staff all social and friendly very approachable. Would definitely recommend to all that want a nice relaxing break. Will be visiting again myself."
Nancy - Jul 2022
"Lovely area."
Philip - Jul 2022
"Loved the caravan and the site. Everyone was helpful and pleasant and all was spotless and clean"
Derrick - Jul 2022
"This was our first time staying at Riverside. The caravan was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We were on the side with new playground which my kids loved. Short walk into town CO-OP near by. The pool was a good size but you do have to book your time. My kids enjoyed the game room but beware you can only collect prizes at specific times which was not posted."
Erica - Jul 2022
"Excellent site the caravan was as it stated in the brochure. For such a large site it was really peaceful and we had a lovely few days chilling out. We would recommend it to anyone and we'll definitely be going back. Thanks"
Bruce - Jul 2022
"Yes, it was all lovely, we didn't eat in the restaurant, so no score for the below"
Steve - Jul 2022
"Will definitely recommend to pur friends. We look forward to returning later in the year."
Lynn - Jul 2022

Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ
about 14 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 16 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Conundrum Farm - EX5 3AQ
about 17 Miles
With easy access from the A1 this lovely farm just north of Berwick makes a fantastic family day out.  Follow the farm trail and meet an array of friendly farm animals.  Kids will also enjoy the indoor and outdoor play areas, pet barn and tractor circuit.  The admission fee is excellent value and you will get a free bag of food for the animals and a bag of fish food for the trouts in the fish pond. When you want a bite to eat, the licensed restaurant is the place to go with quality home cooking and a charming location in some of the converted farm buildings.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 32 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 35 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
