Arran Hills Reviews

"Great stay, hot tub amazing and pod had everything we needed, would definitely come back again ??????"
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Lovely stay. Pod is lovely was clean plenty of space for a pod and the hot tub was brilliant. The warden and the owner both popped when we arrived late evening and were both pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stop again!"
Andrew - Jan 2024
"Great stay, just wasn't enough plates and cutlery for a family of 6.And maybe a connection to WiFi for the kids ????"
Craig - Jan 2024
"Positives: The location is beautiful with lovely views across to the Isle of Arran. The hot tub is fantastic and the real luxury point of staying here. The heating is very good and hot water boiler functions well. TV had good channel selection. Decor simple but attractive. Very clean.Negatives: We paid a premium for 2 nights over the Christmas period but did not feel that the price tag matched the accommodation. It is sparsely furnished with zero shelves or cabinets in the bathroom or within the shower to place any toiletries and only a single loo roll provided. A very small bath mat was left for us. There is one small mirror in the bathroom but no others anywhere else. The large bedroom has a built in over-bed wardrobe system but no shelves for charging cameras etc. The small bedroom has a small single bed and no other furniture/shelves meaning a glass of water for overnight has to go on the floor. The living room end has a comfortable sofa bed and coffee table but nothing more. There are no lamps or soft lighting options so its all or nothing. There was no tin opener or corkscrew in the kitchen, only one sharp kitchen knife for prepping and very little in the way of cutlery. Its the first place Ive ever stayed where there was no welcome basket with even basics like straws of coffee/teabag or pots of UHT milk and there was zero anything within cupboards. Considering the time of year it was a good job we had some tinned food in the car left over from camping or we would have had nothing in the night of arrival. Overall: If you are considering staying make sure you take EVERYTHING you think you might want/need including a corkscrew and tin opener! It mentions no towels are provided but if you pretty much apply that to everything else then there will be no surprises. Views are great and its a good area for exploring."

"Would definitely stay again, peaceful perfect location stunning views"

"Was a disaster from start to finish. They mixed up the booking so we were a bed short but recieved £50 compensation for it. One of the rooms didn't have a blind. No bedding for pull out couch. Light switch for toilet could only be turned on by my 5 year old son as it was jammed between a kitchen cupboard and the wall. Jacuzzi was all dirty and slimey. Place was covered in flies. No tin opener. States on the website you can ask for a high chair amd a pop up cot but was told they never had any. Never seen a park ranger the whole time."

"Great location, friendly staff checked us in, very well equipped lodge. Will definitely be back"
Jordan - Nov 2023
"A great lodge with plenty of room & plenty to do in surrounding areas. Only negative comment nothing on site and you need a car to get to surrounding areas. A very good holiday would recommend it."

Marie - Nov 2023
"Excellent accommodation, done to a really high standard. Hot tub was immaculate. Beds were so comfortable. Bigger than I expected especially the kitchen/Living area. I would say this wee place is a hidden gem."
Sally - Nov 2023
"Superb lodge and hot tub. We had a fantastic time! Only thing I would suggest is maybe have a broom or hoover available as we were there for 3 days and the floor became a little messy."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"staff very helpful great if you are looking for a quite break"
David - Jul 2023
"We had a fantastic break away at arran hills, the lodge was great and the addition of a hot tub was fantastic. Slight negative was there was no table or seating area on the decking. We enjoyed our stay that much we've booked again. Can't wait to go back."
Joyce - May 2022
"My initial impression of the site was that it was a small site with some lovely lodges on it. When we got into our lodge I thought it was nice and bright inside with plenty of windows. Everything was new and fairly clean which was nice. There's a few things I would say the lodge was missing like a mat at the entrance and some decking furniture so you could sit outside without been in the hot tub. With the lodge been so small and compact I felt like the bed was too small so my feet were always dangling off the end and the shower been very tight to move in but with that been said that's all just because the lodge is so compact. Also the lack of privacy when you are in the hot tub isn't the greatest. When we were there we had a couple of issues but with no site office been there you only have a number to ring or text. I got a response saying someone would be down at the site in the morning and would have this all sorted. I personally got the feeling like it was a burden on them that they had to come to the site because when site came down in the morning they brought what looked to be their full family with kids as well. I think with this been a new site a few things are still yet to be complete."

"My partner and I have just returned from a lovely four nights away at this cottage. Lovely helpful owners which do not intrude and are there if you need them. Large fenced off garden ideal for our dog. Fully equipped cottage with everything you need. We used the bbq one of evenings. Brilliant hot tub! We would definitely return and have already recommended to friends. Thankyou for a lovely stay. "
Aimee - Nov 2024
"Another fantastic stay at Goddards Mead. Fantastic cottage in every way. We will be back need I say more."
Anthony - Nov 2024
"Just returned from a lovely weeks stay at Goddards Mead. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hosts are very warm and welcoming and despite being on a working farm it felt like a little tranquil haven."
Anna - Nov 2024
"Little Gem - Beautiful Cottage with everything you need, you dont need to bring anything. I overloaded the car not realising how well equiped the whole cottage is. Welcome pack has all information you need to know about the cottage and menus which was very well thought out. Thankyou for the little extras for our dogs and us. Owners, Sharon and Robert very quick to respond if you need to ask anything. K9's loved it - enclosed garden a bonus. Hot tub amazing. Thanks for the lovely break. "
Jan - Nov 2024
"Very nice cottage. Ideal for a quiet break if you don't mind aeroplanes (at night mostly) as its quite near to Stanstead airport. Hot tub is lovely!"
Mary - Nov 2024

"Fantastic clean place, nice and quiet, hosts are lovely and helpful, great place for couples, the hot tub is amazing, nice enclosed garden for pets."
JANET - Nov 2024
"A beautiful holiday home set in a lovely rural location. The slated courtyard was perfect and the hot-tub added to the luxury of the property. Great for country walks."
Amanda - Nov 2024
"Stanning cottage with friendly owners and if course the jacuzzi. We had a great time."
Petra - Nov 2024
"Out lodge was spotless & staff friendly & helpful"
Gillian - Jul 2022
"Excellent lodge and loved how quiet the area was. My only advice is to take your own outdoor chairs. Unlike the photos there is no place to sit outside and the dining chairs were not comfy."
Louise - Jul 2022
"Couldn't recommend a stay here more. Quiet apart from my children and they had a ball, they loved the hot tub. They played in our little bit of garden and we were completely left alone. Staff were very helpful and always at hand when needed. Cabin was modern clean and a peaceful private good value break. Definitely recommend and definitely go back. 10 out of 10 from this family."
Marianna - Jul 2022
"Nice relaxing break. Perfect location hidden away and nice to come back to when we've been out round Scotland to Glasgow and Edinburgh"
Anthony - Jun 2022
"Absaloutly amazing thank you we will be back"
Pauline - Jun 2022
"Fantastic 4 days away . It's says pod but I would call it a micro lodge , the pictures are spot on with what you get . It has only just opened so all is brand new and a couple of lodges were just being finished. Hot tub was excellent and for short break had plenty of room . Good oven and full size fridge freezer and bathroom bigger than static caravan . Had a great time on the beaches nearby plenty to go to and lots of superstores . Thank you very much Arran hills hope to see you again"
Shaun - Jun 2022
"Had an excellent stay. Lodge was very clean and well equipped. Highly recommend."
