Heads of Ayr Holiday Park Reviews

"Accommodation was great, enjoyed every moment"
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Was lovely and clean. However, huge stain on one of the curtains and the outer casing of the window fell off in the bathroom when you opened the window. We mentioned these to Liz on reception who seemed appreciative for the information."
Verified Guest - Mar 2024
"Beautifully furnished caravan. Beds were super comfy. Staff very helpful and responded to emails very promptly! The hotbub was fab! The only gripes I have are that the hottub was very lukewarm. Temperature should be adjusted in accordance to the weather as well, even if controlled somewhere else that office should check the weather forecast and adjust the hot water setting. Also on our last morning staff started emptying the hottub before we left. We thought they could've waited till 11am. However, we had an amazing weekend"
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Stayed here whilst working in the area. Beautiful place. Very quiet. Would happily return when not working to explore the area more."
Emma - Dec 2023
"The lodge was amazing! Hot tub was fabulous, on our arrival at the site office Liz was extremely friendly and gave us great information regarding bus times, restaurants, and bars in ayr town centre, will definitely return to Heads of Ayr, and definitely chose the Jura Lodge. Hope to book again soon.Lesley"
Lesley - Nov 2023
"The pladda pod was fantastic. Very modern and the concept is just great. Will definitely be booking again"
Vicky - Nov 2023
"Good holiday good scenic views"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Perfect holiday."
David - Nov 2023
"Caravan was not very well equipped - I had to go and buy basic cleaning clothes for washing dishes and take my own oven gloves and towels. Could have done with a pair of tongs and scissors in utility drawer. Caravan was double glazed but very poor quality as extremely draughty. The frying pan was next to useless, everything stuck to it."
Evelyn - Nov 2023
"Lovely and quiet place to stay. Lodge was clean and comfortable. Wanted a pet friendly hot tub holiday and thats what we got. Reasonable pricing considering it was peak season, travelling with dogs and booked accommodation with a hot tub (the cost to fill and run the electricity must be a fortune!) great deck for our dogs to putter about on."
Shannon - Nov 2023
"Luxury apartment with stunning panoramic views! Lots to see and do within 5-20 minute drive for all ages. On the site there is a shop, outside play area and a short walk to the beech. We will definitely be back!!"
Amy - Nov 2023
"We spent a lovely week at the Heads of Ayr Park, the views were stunning and it was only a short walk to the beach from our lodge. The on-site shop catered for our basic needs and even had fresh made up meals in trays for convenience these were reasonably priced and looked very appealing, the staff were very knowledgeable about the local area and things to do and places to visit which kept us entertained. The lodge and site were very clean and comfortable and the hot tub was maintained daily, the only thing I would say is the mattress was not as comfortable as I would of liked but that wouldnt stop me booking again, the lodge was well stocked with basic cooking equipment, plates bowls, pans and tray, cutlery and cooking utensils and a welcome surprise of a fridge freezer We went during the summer holiday and the site was peaceful and quiet even though it was full thank you for a lovely holiday."
Michelle - Oct 2023
"We had an amazing time, the holiday home was clean, lovely and spacious, we went as a family of four (two were teenagers) the hot tub was monitored every day, staff were friendly. Amazing views from the property and we found that although the area was peaceful and quiet there was also plenty to explore and do in the local area too"
Marcy - Oct 2023
"Amazing, best views ever and was exactly as picture, couldn't fault a thing."
Karen - Oct 2023
"Very nicely located park, peace and quiet and a beautiful view of the sea. Cleanliness guaranteed ... I recommend it 100%"
Katarzyna - Oct 2023
"The best caravan by far that we've stayed in, so much so, that we didn't want to leave!"
Elizabeth - Oct 2023
"Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!"
Christopher - Dec 2024
"Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!"
Emma - Dec 2024
"Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you! "
Phoebe - Dec 2024
"It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!"
Andrew - Dec 2024
"Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!"
Simon - Dec 2024
"Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend. "
Brooke - Dec 2024
"Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x"
Libby - Dec 2024
"Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill. "
James - Dec 2024
"We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people."
Annemieke - Dec 2024
"The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings. "
Carol - Dec 2024
"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "
Inderjit - Dec 2024
"The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place. "
Richard - Dec 2024
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Sharon and Robert were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and secure for our dog Archie. The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. We felt our batteries had certainly been recharged during our week and we enjoyed our relaxing break! "
Denise - Dec 2024
"Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend "
